1:59 to 2:10 is what ALL other tutorials fail to explain. Thank you, sometimes you just need to understand the trick and the you can even develop a small variation to the basic technique.
This video was incredibly helpful for me. Two things in particular make this the most helpful plastic whip tutorial I've seen: - The side view slow motion makes the hand motion very clear. - Watching your normal-speed side view made me realize that the tug up on the yo-yo should NOT be a short, sharp jerk. A larger, slower (though still fast) pull upward creates a big slack loop that then gets thrown down and back under the yoyo by the wrist folding down.
