You need to have Merle back to share more stories about his upbringing with GG
I saw the thumbnail and was like - is that Merle Allin? I second having him back to speak on GG and the East Coast hardcore scene in general.
Gg was a fuckn legend. RIP
My heart is pounding so hard, I can't wait to see this wideo even though it probably has nothing to do with GG.
But Merle is quite an original so as I said I can't wait.
And even though I feel like I know what there is to know about GG I'd still like to listen more.
There is a good documentary with Merle and his mom called All in the Family. I think it's from around 2018.
@@Ihavehadmanynames7779 his music was trash and the only reason people like him is cause he shit and bloodied himself on stage. Don’t lie dude was dumb af
Please do an interview with Merle on his life while we still have him with us. Man is a living legend.
100000% agreed
Yes please!!!!!
This and some memories of GG would be cool too.
How are you guys praising some guy who praises people who took the lives of children mother brothers sons daughters fathers. It's an insult to those families especially the victims. All fun and games until its you on the other end. F,king morons.
mark is actually interviewing him again about his life with gg.
Man that Steve answer was so spot on, “I don’t look at them like they’re great, or as someone I look up to as far as that’s great what they did, it’s like you go to the zoo and see something that’s poisonous animal, like a snake and you’re admiring it for what it is”
That was a good explanation.
Steve's wife realizes its all ego though
This is how I explain my fascination with nazi related stuff. Fascinating does not mean admiration.
This is a beautiful quote 🥰
I am fashinated by people who scratch the cars with the keys. Its an hard hobby but sombody gotta do it. I have a collections of pictures of normal assholes who scratched somebody else car. Oh god I live this passion
If the guy that grew up in a cabin in the middle of nowhere with a psychopath father says he’s glad he didn’t grow up nowadays, you know something’s wrong
or its a coping mechanism on his part
No I completely understand what he is saying his negative upbringing has nothing to do with what era he grew up in.
I was born in 1990 and I feel bad for kids these days the world sucks now.
Yea… but he also idolizes literal serial killers so does it really matter?
@@DeanthiusD he doesn’t idolize. I collect animal skulls but I don’t idolize the hunter.
@@DeanthiusD by your logic surgeons are evil
I like how Merle cusses a lot but suddenly becomes super polite and says "I beg your pardon"
I love that phrase! 🤠💅💯
i wouldnt say he cusses a “lot”
in MA people call others Massholes- I can hear his NH accent still-funny, I am a MA native and still lives here. Part of the Masshole culture-swearing constantly everything is "FK"....lol
Cuz he's a sociopath
That was hilarious 😂
Mark, please give us a 2 hour interview with Merle Allin (while we still have him with us), the man's a living legend!!! Many interesting & same time crazy stories to tell...
Why he's a legend?
@@foxtrot801 He’s GG Allin’s brother, plays in GG’s old band the murder junkies, toured with Hank the 3rd, Antiseen & others. Etc, etc…
@@valkyrie9024 also played live shows with one of the Ramones, Nirvana visited GG in prison, youth of today attended one of their shows, they were hanging around with Poison Idea and many more crazy stories Merle could talk about
He's a toothless hillbilly
@@foxtrot801 He isn't. He is just a little more tame than his psycho brother that others glorify. GG Allin was a waste of life and offered nothing but stupidity to this world. It was all about shock value and it was bad.
Merle is very sharp and healthy for his age and crazy lifestyle. A long interview with him would be gold.
just uploaded the other day..
What gets you when you get older is depression, sadness, and mentally giving up. He still loves life and a lot to live for yet.
@@Chris-Rife and drug abuse, and not working out etc
It’s about time Merle Allin got some love for being himself, not just for being GG’s brother. Thanks for this one. Merle is an incredibly kind dude and a legendary rock star ⭐️ They don’t make em like this anymore!!!
For real!
For sure!!!!!!!!!
Merle wasn’t a scumbag like his brother so I always respected him .
@@brothersskateboardco he was worse he was his puppeteer
in all fairness. Merle has built his career off GG. I love merle, I've bought a lot of shit from him. But his entire living is made selling GG records, and pictures and memorabilia.
G.G. Is like 300 of your interviewees wrapped up in one person. You should do a whole episode of Merle's stories of his life. That would be epic and very extreme I'm sure.
he is.
Hell yes
That would be awesome.
Eh, no, he isn't.
Who interviewed in here ate their own shit? Cut themselves each night on stage. Or ran around naked rolling around in their own body liquids?
I get your point, though.
However, GG did this for entertainment.
The people in here obviously don't do that.
However I'm all about that interview even though I feel like we know the most of GG's story by now.
Fuck yea, I’d love that.
Merle should be in a Rob Zombie film. Fits right in to the Firefly Family.
So true lol
Definitely
They probably know each other
Yes!!!
Just throwing another vote in to have Merle back for another interview!
Coming…
@@SoftWhiteUnderbelly that's what she said

@@blindmelonlemonjello agreed. Merle is the shit
Merle Allin... Absolute legend and hella nice guy (from my 2 brief interactions with him. Once in Chicago in 1997 and once in 2018, as I recall, in San Antonio). He is a wellspring of interesting rock & roll road tales... He could fill hours of SWU content and never repeat himself or get boring in his recollections from his personal history.
Yea I don't think most people that watch this understand that Merle is a rock Legend and has information on the most notorious punk rocker/shock rocker in history.
MERLE saying "I am happy I'm not a kid in this world"= very wise
why
🙄
I was isolated before the pandemic too hermit slash rolling stone vagabond
I feel the same way
i wish i was a kid again in this world
i never would of thought id see Merle on the show, absolutely wild. My uncle telling me stories of meeting him and his brother back in the day are just amazing, love it Mark. Per usual.
"I got a letter from Ted Kaczinski the Unabomber" - The Bravest Mail Recipient
Hahaha good point
No doubt ...I didn't even think of that
Haha yes not too many people in the world who can speak for themselves and make that claim.
somewhat bizarrely, Kaczinski does a lot of mail correspondence these days
@@cjhunt9532 He still alive!?
Merle is a part of history. He wasn't the CENTER of the Murder Junkies, but he was integral to what they were.
I saw him and the band circa 92.
Due to ypur access to him, an interview of his insights to the band, and their influence would be something to delve into.
Merle actually gained some talent. GG was mostly shock. Merle had to learn skills. Sad he is still referred to as GG's brother primarily.

I knew I recognized Merle Allin, that's awesome! Pleasantly surprised to see him up and around, how cool!
I couldn’t put my thumb on why I knew who he was! Seems like he’s doin well!
Who is he? Is his brother a serial killer?
They still do shows! They have a 2023 tour
Hes such a gnarly dude. Bought a cool ass GG Allin Poster from him
Exactly! As soon as the video begin and glimpsed over at the GG Allin t-shirt I was like omg its Merle!!!!
Damn Richard when Merle Calls you a scummy human being... How dare you write boring letters. Merle is literally one of the last people I ever thought I would see here. Made my day.
@Paul X Merle said Richard Ramirez sucks basically because he's boring lolll
@Paul X I'm talking about Meril saying Richard Ramirez is scummy person for writing boring letters, as if that's his worse crime in Merils eye's
@Paul X Merle is GG Allin's brother from GG Allin and the Murder Junkies
It made my day, too!!!!!
Pretty stupid when gg called himself the outlaw scumfuc and merle just rode his coattails his whole lofe
By far my favorite interview ever. Merle is a character of his own. GG was just a bit more "prominent". As much as I love both their music, thank you for making this about Merle. We've seen so many GG interviews, it's nice to hear another side.
One of the best interviews yet by far! I love this so interesting
Why is this only 20 minutes? Merle is a GOLD MINE when it comes to stories.
Maybe this was near the end of the day for mark. He does many interviews a day
It surprised me that Merle had a bubbly personality. Laughed alot, was very kind and honestly seems like a nice guy

Merle has always been polite and well spoken. Really a smart dude. Glad to see him doing an interview here.
Merle - I love that you’re a one of a kind dude, and always stuck to your guns.
Steve - I love that you’re doing what interests you while also keeping the family together.
Keep it up, gentlemen.
These two ass clowns have NO branches in their family tree. How many times you think these idiots have taken family members to the submarine races at night? Also I bet these two nut farmers had a lot of imaginary friends even till this day.
Fuck Yes. Well said.
Amazing interview! 👏 Merle has incredible life stories! This is a treasure.
Merle is definitely speaking the truth when he says not wanting to be a kid growing up in the world now. I’m 52 years old and honestly feel so sorry for the youth now . A lot of them are fu#%ed from the start and it’s so sad . It’s definitely a messed up world.
Haha I also loved lockdown and really miss that time. If you had the right mindset or was someone who already avoided the outside world it was pretty much heaven . I feel sorry for all those who passed away or people who lost loved ones but for me feeling like I was in a empty world, seeing no vehicles, wildlife roaming through the tiny village I live in it was just amazing . Sure I will never see times like that ever again .
This was a great one. Merle’s brother GG was a wild legend, you should definitely consider bringing Merle back on for a longer interview. It totally fits your schtick too

How are the murder junkies shows? I'll be seeing them for the first time on the upcoming tour. Is it like a typical punk show or is it more crazy? Seeing old GG shows, I'd think some people in the crowd would purposely try to be over the top and do stupid shit as some sort homage maybe to GG idk. Am I wrong or is it a laid back punk show?
My oldest was studying psychology in college and thought she wanted to be a FBI profiler at one point so I took her to The Alcatraz Museum in TN. It was very interesting...we got to see Bundy's VW, Gacy's Clown Costume, Bonnie & Clyde's bullet riddled car amongst hundreds of other Serial and Mass killer memorabilia. Incredible Museum.
I saw those items when they were at the museum of crime and punishment in DC. I'd enjoy seeing it all again!
Awesome interview. Merle seems like such a fun guy to hang with. Always loved GG and the Jabbers
I've always wondered what would motivate someone to write a serial killer. I think Steve explained it best when he said it's like viewing a dangerous animal. There is an element of amazement at their existence.
It's morbid fascination and being star struck
Because commonly a SK will be far more interesting than your average Joe Bloggs walking down the street
That's the whole "trainwreck" theory.
@@LonelyBones_ but also, your common Joe Bloggs is usually the serial killer. 🤔

So appreciative of the incredible variety of individuals you interview. You provide such a valuable& unusual opportunity to be able to hear the unvarnished experiences of people I would otherwise never cross paths with. Thank you.

Having worked in prison settings: Every serial killer I ever met was predominantly a collection of inadequacies wrapped in stupidity.
Stop being so bitter! !

People should be more mindful of what they expose them selves to.
At this point, it's more of an addiction for me.

I’ve met Merle twice! He plays at a nightclub by my house once a year (pre COVID) he’s such a sweetheart!
They are touring again for the first time since CVD, starting this May for the 30th Deathaversary!
Growing up with no running water. If people only really knew how hard it is to not have running water. I experienced it once in the past for 6 days and it was pure hell. I have 3 year old daughter and a fiancé. It was so bad and this man grew up that way. That’s amazing.
He left out a lot of the worst details, the lack of running water was just the beginning. Their dad was a mentally ill psycho, an abusive wackjob. You can read up on GG Allin's upbringing, it was insane. GG's original name was "Jesus Christ" lol, because their dad thought he had a vision from God...
When my wife died I moved in with a friend ,the electricity got turned off, the gas, but by far the worst was when the water got turned off.
Merle is one of the nicest guys, I saw him play in a fire co years ago, great interview!
I remember hearing about Merle’s dad digging graves for his family in the dirt basement of their cabin. Imagine growing up like that.

Love this interview! I have a lot of pieces signed by Merle. Don’t get me wrong I love GG but it’s nice to see Merle actually get to sit and talk about what interests him and not having to sit and talk about his brother all the time.
I have thought for a long time that a book or documentary just about Merle Allin would be excellent to have! He has his own interests and tastes and unfortunately, we don’t get to hear about them as often.
Great work Mark as always!
That was terrific! Loved the analogy that Steve made about the fascination with serial killers being like seeing a poisonous snake in a zoo.
