Les Paul Modern from Gibson - In-Depth Demo!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- The new Gibson Les Paul Modern incorporates many contemporary updates that players have embraced such as lighter-weight bodies and innovative slim taper neck with asymmetrical profiles. The Modern fingerboard is crafted with genuine ebony and a compound radius for lower, and cleaner action. The neck/body joint features the new Modern contoured heel for effortless access to the highest frets as well as maximum sustain and stability. Hardware upgrades include Grover locking Rotomatic tuners, clear top hat knobs and BurstBucker Pro and BurstBucker Pro + pickups. The control assembly features 4 push-pull pots to switch between the Gibson humbucker and the single coil P90 sounds, both of which have defined so many genres of music across multiple generations since we invented them, phase switching and pure bypass for functional and versatile sonic variety. The new Gibson Les Paul modern is here to shape sound for future generations.

Thank you for playing clean tones!! I’m tired of over the top gain demos. We all know a les Paul can scream.
i think the best of this guitar is to have good clean tones lol
The majority of guitar customers are wankers who want to play hard rock
True. Most guitar customers want to hear the same boring hard rock sound and it gets old after a while
1000% agreed
That was outstanding. As was mentioned farther down the thread, the clean tones were incredibly helpful. And the overdriven tones still allowed the Burstbuckers and the guitar's playability to be felt. New subscriber.
I watch these videos just for the playing. So amazing!
I've had a LP Modern for a couple months now, and none of my other guitars are getting much play ever since I got it. Other than it being heavier than I'd like (so much for the weight relief...), it is otherwise perfect. Best sounding guitar I've ever played. First time the coil-splitting sounds good, imho. Use it quite a bit.
hi
what about the access to the last frets vs the hp models and axcess models?
what about the sound vs lp 50-60's? (2019-202O) ? the demos does not give us a fabulous tone for the lead parts
@@phenixreturns I've never had an HP or Axcess...so unsure how they compare. Sorry.
Just seen another video that mentions the weight as 9lb 2oz; as you indicate, not that much relief.
@@SaxJockey Lol, mine weighs just one gram less than 10 lbs. Plays like a dream tho.
Killer sound and just a beautiful colour 😻
just ordered this guitar. cant wait for delivery
Excellent demo.
I bought this guitar in sparkling maroon from zZounds Music two weeks ago. I must say that it's the best Lester I ever owned. And even tho it has no striping or burst it's still very, very beautiful and plays and sounds like a wet dream....not to mention the ebony fretboard and real m.o.p. inlays. I'm keeping this one!🙂
That's a sweet Gibson Les Paul
Gibson got so close to my dream Les Paul here. The “Axcess” heel joint was better because it was more refined, IMO. I also think this model would’ve been better with no pick guard.
The modern was really nice, but they took a step back from the HP series. I liked my ‘19 so much, I bought a second! (And ‘19 had no pick guard)
I can’t understand why it doesn’t have the Axcess heel joint! You’re right, it was soo close to being the perfect guitar for me.
I really like these new moderns, and it would be awesome if they had a gold top option.
Does it have a gloss or satin finish on the neck?
the color is great
You can call Gibson over priced and underwhelming QC and suffering from weird PR that I cannot understand, but they sure sound and look good.
To be honest Fender and PRS are definitely overpriced.
@@ognistakropla yeah idk why Gibson gets all the flak and they get off easy. Gibsons at least look like they require more labor to produce than Fenders.
@@iost5459Gibson made junk from 2006-2018. This is a 2019. When I say they made junk, I may be a little insulting to the word “junk.” They made pig defecation for most of those years. They restructured and 2019 was the first good vintage in a while.
this man plays good
Not mentioned the body is lighter without suposedly losing on sound quality and theres a cut away bit at the back near the start of the neck where you can get your fingers on the fretboard much easier playing them high notes.
I kind of wanna hear Jim play Flight of the Bumblebee with spoons now! 😆
Great video as usual.
Yeah, already paid for mine dude I can’t wait to get it on backorder fucking Guitars got an amazing tone
I’m almost convinced. But I still want to know how it compares with a standard 50’s or 60’s. Does it have same warmth, especially for lead parts? And most importantly, does it feature the same bourbon and diesel soaked magical aural fairy dust that those models are rumoured to have?
Thank you!!!
Color it's amazing
your forgot to mention that the HP models had a good axcess to the last frets
and the same options
Those are real MOP inlays as well right? Really like this one..
Yes
Enjoyed the Jeff McErlain / Robben Ford tune at 4:02!
I think it was Albatross by Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac)
Ah. I must have heard a recent cover. Thanks!
Hey Jim, you look really fed up with this demoing !? Had a hard night gigging before ? 😂 by the way, extensive demo 👍
So many options this way and that way and...Arrgghhh!
Tell me this guy doesn’t look like he wants to throw himself off a roof when he had to demo all the configurations of the split humbuckers. 😂
What's the song at the begining
Alnico V and not II III
a bright tone so modern than before
I use this guitar in Faded Pelham Blue on all my recordings. I honestly have a hard time playing anything else.
Mine in the same color should arrive today, I cannot wait
@@CoachVincFM I still play mine religiously, although I recently bought an LTD EX-401 and I am in love with the EMG's, but nothing can replace the Les Paul, i mean it's a fucking flagship Les Paul..!!
@@lightningwithin9186 ohhh yeahh
very well done. you get an A
How much more for the poker chip?
It comes with one
@@VlxWIZzZARDxlV if it's in plastic : change it !
People have been sleeping on these guitars.
i played one recently....let em sleep
@@soofitnsexy the modern sg is amazing.
@@bryanmc9174 havent tried that one!! thanks
i didnt care for the les paul...thin and plinky didnt have that classic les paul sound plus neck was sooo thin
Obvs it's preference, my 60s LP covers that base, but the sg has a great snap to it, and the asymmetrical neck is great for modern lead playing.
I bet Jim can play Flight of the Valkyries with forks
I like the contoured heel on these.
not the best vs axcess- hp series
@@phenixreturns Good to know, thanks.
@@noahjuan2234 je
the axcess has changed
which is the best ?i don't know
the last model came with 09 46 too (better for the easy bends)
my dream is more a LP DC :) why must we suffer with a single cut ? my fav guitar cut is the SG !
P.Green song , sound
Ahhh fuck yes Mixolydian b6
i though you say minoxidil
What is the weight?
9
the ultra modern weight relief just sounds bad, steals the solid body good sound and also doesnt have the full semihollow good sound, it`s just worst of both worlds. This guitar would be just perfect with a solid body or 9 holes weight relief. Good demo as always!
has a Joe Satrian feel
yes and it's not normal for a lp
Yes, not as raw or warm as a 50’s?
Just get an epiphone modern for 1/3 the price. You wont even notice the difference
10 minutes of clean tone, please shoot me
That’s me £2.5k lighter! Ha
Making a review is a very boring work
no song to play , no guitar solo , without a band
all the knobs to test
they sound very bright and not so powerful = now you know
This guy's facial expressions makes me think that he's trying to make love the guitar. Lol
Coil tap not Coil split...
Alfredo Rodriguez-Perez - Wrong, its coil split. You split a humbucker and tap a single coil.
@@Burnt_Gerbil Face palm for you, double face palm and cherry on top. Do some research about coil tap and by the way here is the link for the Gibson web site, enjoy. www.gibson.com/Guitar/USAQ17249/Les-Paul-Modern

"Play Authentic"
I wanted a real Les Paul. So I bought a Standard.
Sounds hollow and not very good, if they only did this with 9 holes weigh relief i´d be just perfect.
it does not sound good at all for the price
A "modern" guitar with no tummy cut....come on Gibson. Instead of giving the people what you want them to have...give them what they keep asking for. You contoured the neck pocket....changed the baseball bat sized neck to something more comfortable to play....but you just won't do the tummy cut. SMDH.
Pickups sounds awful
Why can't you play some metal riffs with real distortion. Most Les Paul players are rock and rollers not jazz or blues players.
Rock and roll isn't metal with real distortion, mate
too modern sounding
hilarious, maybe they should have called it the modern. Oh wait.
