So about the Battle: - Pandora's Actor quickly deduced that the suit was hollow and likely being puppeted by a hidden third party. - In the LN, the Doom Lord put up a much better fight. In fact, Ainz buffed it several times over with negative elemental stat bonuses. - Elemental Skull actually put up a fight, and it took a while for the suit to defeat it. "Ainz" (Pandora's Actor), having grasped the basics of his opponent's stats and fighting capabilities, considered using summons that could quickly end the battle. But he willingly chose not to destroy the armor to gain more information. In fact, he barely used any of the buffs, attacks, spells, or summons he had access to, which contributed to purposefully causing his opponent to incorrectly gauge Ainz's strength. - In the LN, Ainz (the real one) already made an accurate guess about who the silver armor was related to. This is because Demiurge and Albedo both separately provided reports about past Players and New Worlders who associated with them, such as the 13 Heroes. Riku happened to be linked to one of the 13 Heroes, who is heavily alluded to being a Player, and Platinum Dragon Lord is known to have been one of the 13 Heroes and a close friend to Riku. - LN readers are fully aware of what the barrier is and Riku's abilities. It's all attributed to Wild Magic. There are several characters who have a proper understanding of what Wild Magic is, including Fluder Paradyne. But again, this is all cut content. Gazeff's sword and stat-boosting ring all operate under the mechanics of Wild Magic. - Wild Magic is essentially the original magical system that governed the New World prior to the emergence of Players from Earth, who brought the magic system of Yggdrasil, i.e., Tier Magic. Tier Magic replaced Wild Magic in the New World. Wild Magic was primarily used by the True Dragon Lords, who ruled the world with an iron fist, to the point that humanity if the New World was nearing extinction. - Wild Magic seemingly works under the energies that power World Class Items. As a result, Wild Magic can be negated by simply carrying World Items. There's a lot of implications as to why this happened, it is believed to be tied to a particular True Dragon Lord. - Wild Magic used by the armor is powered by a user's life force/vitality (HP), rather than mana/magic power (MP). Pretty much everything concerning Wild Magic's explanation is cut from the anime.
A couple other hints as to "Ainz" being Pandora's Actor was also the lack of the red orb in his chest(a World Item), and that "Ainz's" inner monologue was in his Momonga voice, not Suzuki Satoru's.
Also the fact how he was very dramatic in the way he fought and did the anime exposition talk. Like, when teleporting he grabs his robe when that's not necessary at all. XD
@@666HeroHero That's right. Pandora's Actor did that in season 2, when he spoke to Sebas, then used _Greater Teleportation._ Ironically, that kicks off a whole comedy bit in the _Pure Pure Pleiades_ spinoff.
Albedo is not saying that she can ride the bicorn but exactly the opposite, she laments how she can't catch up to him precisely because she can't use her bicorn. Also Grasp hearts not working precisely because there is nobody in the armor fir the spell to grasp his heart.
Shes not really lamenting, she could catch up to him if she wanted since she was given items to increase her flight speed "Albedo did not have any abilities that could boost her own flight speed. Normally, when she was engaged in a chase, she would be riding her War Bicorn but that was no longer an option. That was why she was flying with her own wings, which were only capable of these speeds. Still, Albedo had prepared for this. She had borrowed items from her master that could boost her flight speed. As long as she equipped those, she could easily close the gap between them. So why hasn’t she done so already? The answer was because she was waiting to see what her opponent’s next move would be."
@-Apoptos- The lamenting part is not Because she "can't catch him" but rather because she can't ride the bicorn specifically because she still has not had Ainz ehhm...remove the reason she can't ride it.
I mean I doubt graps heart would work on the real platinum dragon lord either, atleast in the way how it worked with other opponents ains faced. I think grasp heart would affect platinum dragon lord in the sense that it would stun him, but it would not straight up instakill him.
@@chrisk3127from what i have heard from other people that have read the source. If you have enough resistance to it, then the only side effect is a stun and there will be no instakill.
02:10 "This all started because an idiot decided to steal from a caravan." When Philip was introduced, you asked "is he a moron?" My comment on this was "you have no idea yet." This guy stole from the Sorcerer King, triggering the annihilation of the whole kingdom. Because he implemented stupid agricultural reforms that led to a huge loss. Next to this, trying to hit on Albedo was small potatoes. At worst, just this would have got only him killed. Instead, he managed to bring the whole country down with him.
It's weird, ya'd think that a third son who never expected to have any power or prestige would be grateful for either and hesitant to make big waves. Instead he acts like the protagonist of a manga that everything inexplicably goes right for.
Its a shame the anime cut out the moment where Philip actually did this. The moron shows up on horseback in full plate armor (he has no experience as a warrior nor wearing the armor, so its more in his way then anything else) and 50ish levies who he could not even bother to outfit, meaning they showed up in their regular clothes and wooden farm equipment as weapons. Then due to not being able to stand the heavy armor, he actually takes off his helmet so everyone can see who he is during this attack on the merchant caravan. It was pure dumb luck the one transporting it could not understand how somebody would be this stupid and instead suspected it might be a trap or political ploy and simply left without putting up a fight. I honestly did not get Philip's true moronic depths until I read those pieces in the novel, the anime really does not show just how dumb Philip really is.
its not shown in the anime but according to LN he took the sorcerer kingdom flag from the caravan and on his way back he paraded it openly to the public showing that he "won" against the sorcerer kingdom
@@ozoahameg3582 All while also trampling it in the dirt, and still thinking he could also have good relations with the Sorcerer kingdom and marry Albedo.
Very important context that's missing here is that the Platinum Dragon Lord who fought Pandora's Actor is the head of the Council State. The Council State is the country that Zanac had attempted to create an alliance with before the Phillip incident but couldn't finalize it before the Sorcerer Kingdom declared war. They are the reason why after declaring war the Sorcerer Kingdom immediately started invading certain territories because it was to prevent the Council State from sending reinforcements since even without the alliance they're still an ally who wanted to save the kingdom. But because of the Sorcerer Kingdom's tactics, it truly doomed the kingdom since their only ally that could help them was blocked off, essentially leaving the kingdom to their own demise. There was no hope for the kingdom to survive so as a last ditch effort to try and save the kingdom, the Platinum Dragon Lord attempted to assassinate Ainz to end the Sorcerer Kingdom in it's infancy, but since the assassination failed, it ended the one sliver of hope the kingdom had left.
In the light novel they discussed what level Platinum Dragon Lord's Magic Armor was. Albedo and Shaltear say that it's around level 80-85 as they're more experienced with an opponent like that armor but Pandora's Actor was the one who personally fought him unlike the other two who were spectators so the Overlord community considers the armor at level 85-90.
Non-spoiler fun fact about world items: there are a total of 200 world items from Yggdrasil (not all of which were found) and the guild Ainz Ooal Gown had the most at 11. The guild with the 2nd most only had 4. The orb that's in Ainz' stomach is a world item too and the staff that Albedo was given is a world item and was the reason she could get into the barrier.
The suit is a power Armor from yggdrasil it was added in an update to make the game beginner friendly if you paid for it, the base version which is the version the red suit guy presumably has is equivalent to level 70. Nazarik has 3 versions of fully maxed out suits which are equivalent to level 90-95. The suit replaces all stats of the user except health and mana with its own, that's why albedo felt as if she was hitting tofu. The dragon is called platinum dragon lord, the part where he was talking about how everything started with the misuse of their power is a popular theory that his father the dragon emperor used wild magic (original magic of the new world) to bring world items in this world by wishing for powerful items but inadvertently brought along the players wielding the world items as well. The arrival of the players completely changed the balance of the new world, before the players arrived dragon lords were the only beings that could use magic. It is a theory that a player used the world item 8 elements overcoming (a item that in the game could allow a player to request any change to the magic system from the developers). If we look at how platinum dragon lord talks about(pronounces in the subtiles) players and NPCs it is clear that he doesn't quite understand what the words mean he has only heard someone talk about them.
Tsa (the dragon who introduces himself as Riku Aganeia) is a clear reference to Bahamut, The Platinum Dragon from D&D. Bahamut is a lawful good dragon god, and the deity of justice, and all of the good, metallic dragons and dragonborn. He's one of the most fundamentally good gods in D&D, filled with compassion for the weak, mercy for those who are misled, empathy for those who are suffering, but also absolutely ruthless towards true evil. If an entity is truly evil, and not just misguided or chaotic neutral, Bahamut doesn't give them any quarter. Like, none. Because of that, he's often the worshipped deity of lawful good paladins and clerics, especially dragonborn, who adorn themselves in platinum (if they can afford it) and dragon imagery. And get this: just like most dragons he can change his form at will (via the Shape Change ability), and his preferred humanoid form is... a paladin wearing a shining platinum armor 😉
Ainz was feining his immunity to bludgeoning attacks the entire fight. Since its one of his biggest weaknesses, he used a spell that negates an instance of that type of damage and continued to cast it between hammer strikes until Riku stopped using the hammer against him
he had to use the anti-bludgeoning spell like 3 times to make riku stop using his hammer iirc. he always recasted it after teleporting away, e.g. every time when riku would be unable to see it coming + he delaying his arrival and acting like that wasnt a thing.
He wasn’t “Bored”, he just lost his War boner over the other side turning against its leader. Imagine if you were hyped for a match and the other side just side “You know what, you win” before it even started.
They just made the same mistake as Clementine, and killed the only human in a 10 mile radius that Ainz had any interest in, which sealed their fates in the worst way possible.
Ainz wanted to try to spare the kingdom after meeting the prince, but then the one person he liked that he wanted to spare was betrayed by his people. ainz was pissed being bored was him saying screw it I dont care kill them all.
I believe what he meant by resurrection there is Azuth, the red drop guy with the armour. He meant that killing him once wouldn't be enough so he had to think up of a way where he could kill him indefinitely.
What he said about resurrection magic is that he is thinking about killing Azuth, the guy with the red Mecha armor, and give that armor to someone else. But he has to be careful because someone else might resurrect him to find out what happened and who could've been so strong to kill him, then he would've exposed the dragon, making his people lose trust and respect towards him so he'd be lumped in with the evil players.
34:04 The mention of resurrection magic is not about Ainz. The dragon just mentioned the idea of killing the Red Drop dude to give his armor to someone else. Problem being that killing him would pose problem with his reputation if the dude comes back to life and accuses the dragon of murder and theft. Plus he would likely reveal that the controller of the armor is the dragon. Too many secrets potentially leaking out for a minor upgrade.
in case wasnt clear - the rease he said puh-layer and enn-pii-sii is to underline that he knows of the words but not necessarily what they mean. he knows what ppl are behind those word. and that they are usually bad news for his world, that he loves so much. while its not confirmed, it seems to be that one of the other people of the 13 heroes may or may not been called riku, but thats just how i maybe choose to interpreted his words... according by worth of god - e.g. the author - a lv 90 dragon lord is not comparable to a lv90 player. :D
I guess it could be the difference in between a lvl. 90 raid boss and one of the 100 lvl. 90 player that are needed to defeat it. Or it could just be the equivalence of a simple mini-boss barely more powerfull than a player. But yea, if the beings of this world are really equivalent to NPCs in therm of power range. It's very believable than some beeing could be much more dangerous than one lvl 100 player, even one using pay-to-win items... It's also possible lvl100 is only a limit to the players of Yggrasil. A lot of MMO have NPC of higher level than the maximum allowed for players. Also, who knows, in this new realistic world those limitation might simply not exist anymore, even for ancient player
the staff Albedo was seen with earlier, Ginnungugap, is her Axe in a transformed state, which is a world item Tabula gave Albedo when she was created, it's effect allows it to destroy large areas, though it's less effective against creatures
19:20 while grasp heart is a level 9 spell that causes instant death most high level players would have a skill or item that prevents instant death, similar to how ainz said that having countermeasures for time magic is a key to pvp in his fight vs gazef. So he throws it out both as a kind of skill test to see if his opponent has the bare minimum prep but also because it can stun and stupify against enemies immune to instadeath. Though in this case it didnt work because the armor is remote controlled.
11:47 - Correct. This suit is an item for newbie players. This suit has stats of a player about 40-50 level, so newbies can farm in a higher-level location. So, basically if you're level 1 and use this suit - yes, you can farm in higher level locations, but you're still level 1. Most NPCs in Nazarick (at least Floor Guardians) are level 100, and in YGGDRASIL even 5 level mean HUGE difference. 17:28 - It's not explained in the main series, but in side-story. This barrier is a "wild magic" that only dragon lords could use, and which existed even before the first players had arrived into the New World and introduced Tier Magic. The only way to counter this magic is by having a World Class Item (one of them Albedo was carrying when she was in the Kingdom, so "nothing" could happen to her - she was carrying a staff that causes MASSIVE AOE terrain damage, and no one could take her under control like Shaltear was taken. Shaltear was taken under control by a grandma that used World Class Item "Downfall of Castle and Country"). 17:51 - Real Momonga could easily teleport / be pushed outside the barrier, because of his orb, which is a World Class Item. 18:35 - Grasp Heart didn't work, because there were no living being (with a heart). 20:00 - Both Doom Lord and the Elemental Skull were MUCH stronger in the Light Novel, anime doesn't give them the spotlight they had in the original. 26:33 - Such things exist. It's just they're not shown in the anime, and only had a brief mention in the LN, but you can read about this type of stuff on the Overlord Wiki. I HIGHLY suggest reading Overlord's side-story "The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country" it talks about that sort of stuff and much more, also it just feels darker and more mature. 30:52 - Since we're already at this part of the story, I guess I can talk about this and it won't be spoilers. So, this dragon, as we already know was traveling for at least few dozens of years as an adventurer, using this exact armor. Where did he get this armor? The answer is - all Dragon Lord live for a VERY long time, and they had seen all the players that were teleported, and killed some of them, so the answer is simple - it is some player's armor, as well as a ring (ring that gives +5 levels to Warrior class) that he gave to a woman (another grandma) which she gave to Gazef, and which he gave to (next episode). The place we see the Dragon reside at is a Sky Castle, which was build by players (Kinda like Nazarick was "built" by Ainz Ooal Gown guild), so this Dragon lives in a previously transported players' guild base, and also has a shit ton of items from players. 34:45 - Actually, the thing that gave away that it is PA, is that "Ainz" didn't have his huge red orb in his chest XD
10:15 "Is the bicorn the horny horse?" Precisely. That episode was a bit of a comedic interlude, but it still had some significant information. And no, she is most definitely *not* saying she can ride it. On the contrary, she can't catch up *because* she can't ride it.
Its not that she cant catch up its just that with her bicorn she would normally be able to "Albedo did not have any abilities that could boost her own flight speed.

The gundam was introduced to players of Ygdrassil to pull new players to game and the increasing popularity of mecha! The armor also helped players level up quickly so they won't get bored grinding for levels! Edit: the Platinum Dragon is one of the twelve heroes! He was born in this world but he knows about Players that travelled from Ygdrassil!
That was actually introduced as a premium item that came as a free gift with the new expansion pack, which added all kinds of futuristic stuff. In fact, the maid with the machine gun (Shizu) is an android, a race introduced in said expansion.
Here is the bow scene, uncut “Wait! Wait! I haven’t finishe-” Ainz, in the midst of Riku’s attacks, threw his staff behind himself. He could see that Riku was slightly confused. Ainz kneeled down immediately. “Wait! Please wait! Listen to me!” The greatsword in Riku’s hand stopped on its way to Ainz’s head. Because he was immune to critical strikes, he was not worried about lowering his defenseless head. He gave an order to the Elemental Skull at the same time. “I did not mean to clash with Your Excellency. This whole thing started because the Kingdom stole the grain that was meant as food aid to the Holy Kingdom. Between them and us, the greater evil should be obvious. What does Your Excellency think? That we were the greater evil?!” “…You went too far. There had to be better ways to deal with that.” Ainz raised his head. Riku’s greatsword remained suspended, it seemed like he had no intention to strike him at the moment. “That is because Your Excellency was not the victim! How would Your Excellency have dealt with this?! When the grain that your countrymen toiled to produce was stolen away?!” “If you did not have the power that you have, things would not have turned out this way. People with power have to be careful about how they use their power and take responsibility for their actions - I, for one, protect the world. Indeed. This world is under my protection.” Upon hearing his opponent’s rhetoric, Ainz thought, this idiot is finally talking. He was being a silent listener. Some people preferred audience response during their speeches while others did not. From his self-righteous tone Ainz could tell it was best that he kept quiet. Ainz took mental notes of everything he said. “The deeds of those who gathered around my loving mother were wrong. They were wrong in the same way that father was. In the end, absolute power corrupts absolutely. It is the source of all faults.” Ainz observed Riku in silence, calming his breath as much as he could. Riku was being impassioned, Ainz should not be as rude to interrupt him. To be honest, Ainz could not understand what Riku was talking about at all, but at the same time he did not sound like he was just rambling nonsense. He should have at least spoken in a way that a layman like Ainz could understand. “Although the root of every wrong could be traced back to us, I will not seek forgiveness for that. I cannot allow you to continue on your current path of destruction. That is why - Perish.” Whoosh, the greatsword swung down. Perhaps he felt guilty for executing the defenseless Ainz, the sword was swung at a much slower speed than before. Hold up, hold up, please reveal some more intel while you’re in a good mood, Ainz almost said out loud. His opponent did not intend to speak any more, so there was no need to keep up this boring act. -The battle continued.
19:25 Yes, he said that the armor is remotely controlled. If he's right, it means the armor would be empty. So, no heart to grasp. It doesn't matter how powerful a spell is if it has no valid target.
However, I think the dragon lord would have ways to protect against grasp heart with his wild magic even if he was fighting personally. It's just a gut feeling tough,
Even if he was potentially vulnerable to the spell, I'm pretty sure Mr Dragon here knows enough about high level magic to have some measure prepared against instant death and possibly time stop magic. This is not anywhere close to Gazef's situation.
"Did Grasp Heart Fail? Also did Ainz just say he isn't here; he's remote controlling all of this?" - well, yes. Your second question answers your first one.
The 13 heroes consisted of more than the 13 spoken about. They werent all players but strong beings from across the continent joining to defeat the demon gods. The Platinum Dragon Lord and Rigrit from season 2 ep 1 were also members, as well as Evileye. Among them was at least 1 confirmed player who started as the weakest among them, but eventually became the strongest (barring PDL, as he concealed his identity and likely his strength by controlling the armor)
there was either 2 players or 1 player and an npc(just a guess of mine, riku might just have learned about npcs from that one player in the party after all) in the 13 heroes and one of the two had to be killed by the other one at some point and the survivor would later refuse resurrection magic.
04:20 "You all started some fad diet." Riiight. I doubt anyone, no matter how desperate they are to lose weight, would willingly try *that* diet though. It really eats you up inside. (I also agree that they really nailed Hilma's design here.)
So we've actually seen that armour twice in the story before this confrontation. One was during shalltear's mind control. We see that this armour was present. The second was during the introduction of the platinum dragon lord back in season 2. Since we are at this point of the story, i think i can explain what hapenned during shalltear's mind control. They were trying to dominate the catastrophe dragon lord apparently and shalltear interrupted them. The slane theocracy had a world item known as the downfall of castle and country(mentioned back in season 2) that they used to brainwash shalltear. But shalltear had killed the wielder in a frenzy before it activated. Also, as you can see, this world has encountered other players before. Its just that ainz hadnt seen them yet, though he had suspected as much for some time. Note as well how PDL(platinum dragon lord) had used the words puh-layer and een-pee-cee instead of player and NPC as ainz says them. Thats because he really doesnt fully understand those terms and only knows an idea of how this works. He's also severely underestimating the sorcerer kingdom at this pointm he stated that they have 2 world items but in reality, the have about 11 Also, the name of the PDL is Tsaindorcus Vaison. Which is why his farmilliars call him Tsa
No, they assumed that Niguns squad being wiped out was becausen of the resurrection of that dragon lord, they went with Downfall of Castle and Country to dominate it but met Shalltear instead. After their scuffle, they retreated and PDL met her on their trail, he wasnt working with them He believes they likely have 2 because Riku told him about guilds that did. Ainz has 11 world items
you probably missed it but the dragon said that he uses a special form of magic called wild magic or soul magic, that's why his HP always shrank when he cast spells and no, he himself and the other guy are not players, which you can tell by the fact that he himself uses the wrong word for player and NPCs, but he still knows these words because Ains wasn't the first player to come to the new world, he also knows the 8 greedy kings and the 6 great gods 😁
The idea behind having Pandora's actor impersonate Ainz is an aspect of how Ainz handled PVP in Yggdrasil online, where dying wasn't an issue. He would fight his intended target and try a number of things to gauge their strength then come back later and annihilate them. Because his resurrection isn't guaranteed to be possible as far as he knows, he had Pandora's Actor stand in for him and watched from Nazzarick with everyone else. It was literally a controlled information gathering exercise.
Information is key and Ainz learned how to pvp from some of the best players in the world and eventually was able to stand toe to toe with them even tho he had a more role playing build. And his greatest strength was the obtaining of information and the planting of false information. So when he fought the battle was already decided before he ever truly stepped into the arena. And that mindset carried over to the new world he is constantly learning about every important person from a massive spy network. So when the platinum dragon lord gave that false name he knew instantly.
22:25 just like you said, the anime rambles on for the viewers sake, but they also cut out all of the elemental skulls part. Additionally, all the spells it casts are maximized. Whilst Ainz tanked, it cast multiple spells of different elements and Ainz noted that Riku took the most damage from acid
Just a quick reminder the 13 heros, the 6 great gods, the great minatour / all talk sage and the 8 greed kings were all players but none of them are still around some how they all died, that is why Ainz is so cautious and we do not know what killed them but it could still be out there.
note the 'lance' shaped hole on the armours right pauldron. looking very 'pippet' shaped you could say... ainz talking in ainz voice to self the whole time, never in suzukis voice~ ainz noting that the armour doing impossible movement - doing an aileron roll without any movement of the legs like its being pulled by invisible strings. he is musing that the person is manipulating the wpns similarly to the dancing blades that one warrior lady was doing from the 8 fingers (the one that got killed by sebas). and that he was maybe doing the same with his armour , while still in it. the wpns orbiting around the armour move along with the armour - when the armour got pushed away so did the weapons, as they are also a part of the armours 'body'. the doom lord has a lot of psychological spells and auras and they are all ineffective vs the armour. when ainz summons the elemental skull, the fight actually continues for a while longer, as the elemental skull slowly cycles through his spell repertoire, testing if any spells would show to b e especially effective against it, and only started his spiel with throwing himself down after having tested like 4 or so spells. ainz likes using the skull cuz it has a bunch of spells ainzs never bothered learning. all the spells he showed using againt the armour were either lv9 or 10 tier spells polar claw 9th tier ice spell. no special gimmick, just the strongest ice spell in yggdrasil. vermilion nova a 9th tier fire spell. pillar of flame that encapsules the target. mist of super acid - 10th tier acid spell, iirc that one showed very effective against em. the skull started charging up to cast the spell "seven trumpeter" but was interrupted before could learn what it does; its name implied that its a divine spell, and apparently from the 10th tier. so some sort of mega smite spell probably... the skull is a glass canon kinda summon. - the armour also run into shalltear after she got brainwashed, he got hit and instantly had to retreat more or less....
ok, disclaimer, back in season 1 or 2 when we first saw this dragon lord, he had a flash-back where he thought about his battle with shalltear (which dusted him) there the reason why "i'm sure that there are other entities stronger than me", also he's not a player, but someone who had contact with players there the reason he mis-spells "player" and "NPC".
love how you mention stuff that was clearly written in the comments, like Pandora only being able to mimic abilities 20 levels lower. Really shows you've been reading the comments
Glad you've enjoyed the reaction series and that this community was good to you, I'm looking forward to your continued anime explorations. Answering Questions: 4:50 Hilma definitely looks different here compared to when she was first introduced. Thinner, more Gaunt in the face and high-strung in general. 10:12 Yes The Bicorn is the “horny horse” the opposite of a Unicorn, its unclear if she can actually use it though 11:55 Luke reached the correct interpretation more or less, though it was transported by a player, not necessarily made by one 13:10 Answer No he’s not from Red Drop 15:30 Its not really a test. Its just a straightforward offer/threat “if you submit to me you live, if you don’t you die” 18:40 Grasp heart didn’t work because there was no heart to Grasp, The armor is empty and being controlled from a distance 19:10 Grasp heart is indeed 9th tier magic 21:00 Unlike a previous example, this was indeed a good example of "anime conversation" but Pandora was just doing it because he's dramatic like that, and it was a strong indication of who was really there even before the bow 29:00 yes, its Albedo’s staff, and Albedo was only able to break back into the barrier that was isolating Ainz because she has a world Item, that gives a good indication that the Armor guy is incredibly strong, and who is actually the platinum dragon Lord from season 2, who 200 years ago controlled the armor as a member of the 13 heroes. 29:25 He meant the Suit 30:10 oh you are cooking 😉, I wonder if this “Ainz” happened to act out of character at any point during his battle with the armor (yes he did) too bad you didn’t commit you were so close. 33:50- There is but he is a long-dead friend of the Dragon Lord 34:00 No he was contemplating killing the leader of Red Drop with the armor so that the armor could be given to someone stronger, but was deliberating on whether that was actually a good idea or not. 38:00 The Platinum Dragon Lord does know about players(powerful beings), but he doesn’t necessarily know where players are from or what the Yggdrasil game was.
38:00 which is why the Subtitles have him butcher "Player" and "NPC" respectively. It's more like "Words" he has heard in Combination with these Beings, Words that he learned to use for them, without really knowing why they're called that.
Also Albedo was actually able to cath up to the dude even without the Bicorn, cause they were ready for the chase and she was equipped with the items that boost her speed, so she was holding back to let him fly away
when i watched this episode when it was out, i realised instantly it wasn't Ainz for two reasons : 1) the way Albedo talked to Ainz was not respectful at first and she had to correct herself + she doubted "Ainz" ability to do his part well and Pandora's actor had to reassure her. 2) the red glowing orb that is always inside Ainz's belly wasn't there.
Platinum Dragon Lord himself is the most powerful existence in the new world that doesn't originate from Yggdrasil. After the fight ended Ainz and the rest of Nazarick come to the conclusion that Riku's true identity is most likely the Platinum Dragon Lord so they intend to send an envoy of sorts to the Council State since they can't leave that unaddressed.
Note from LN on Overlord "players" started comming to that world because Silver Dragons used their Wild Magic to bring them there. Afterward each time their magic became more harder to control. Thus there were player 600 years , then 200 years and now.
Thanks so much for this reaction! You reacted exactly the same as I did for this one, it’s so exciting to see the other strong group. Then you see it was Pandoras Actor, the world item on Ains is the red orb in his chest. They are now tricked in how strong Ains and Nazarick are. Great episode!
you know that the guild of Ains Ooal Gown was in possession of 11 world items, and was the only guild with that many, and the closest any other guild came was three!
pandora's actor, being a doppelganger, can only use 80% of the power from the person he transformed. so he was fighting with 80% of ainz's power. of course he didn't fight seriously, he just wanted to collect intel.
"Grasp heart" is a tier 9 instant death spell. It failed in this instance because the target was out of range since the armor was being remotely controlled. That is actually how he deducted the armor is remotely controlled because the spell wasn't resisted like if the person was too strong for it, but it still didnt kill the target, meaning it was essentially a "missed shot."
I was waiting for this reaction to the point I was refreshing to see if the video was up several time. XD But to answer some of your questions: 19:03 Grasp Heart is indeed a 9th level spell. The summons he used (Doom Lord & Elemental Skull) was summoned using 10th level spells slots. 29:21 "Ainz" was referring to the remote controlled suit. Not the one controlling the suit, as that's impossible for him to know. We don't know how powerful the Platinum Dragon Lord is. There is speculation that he is possibly over level 100 since he is not actually a player, and the game Yggdrasil did have raid bosses that were over level 100. But we don't know for sure (so think it's more likely that PDL is around level 95-100). 35:19 To be precise, Pandora's Actor can copy 80% of someone's strength. But you have to keep in mind the level scaling isn't linear, so he is effectively moreso around a level 95~ish Ainz. If he was around level 80, then he would have been at a significant disadvantage when fighting PDL.
Just to summarize for you. The armored person who called himself Riku is actually known as Platinum Dragon Lord (PDL). PDL was briefly shown in season 2 in Shalltear’s brainwashing flashback. But it was not shown in season 1. I haven’t read the light novels after s4 so I’m excited to see what happens lol.
34:50 while ainz would bow like that, the biggest giveaway that it wasnt ains was the lack of red orb inside Ainz's skeleton. That in itself is a world item and would allow the real ainz to escape from the barrier.
It's been a while since reading the light novel. I vaguely remember Albedo's internal monologue about not catching the red armor being more of an intentional choice and sandbagging her abilities to try and get more information. Based on context, it felt more like she was saying even her mount could overtake this Red-Armor-Guy. With her ability to fly even faster than that she seemed like she was worried about it being a convincing performance that she wasn't able to catch him. Not fighting seriously was parr of the plan so things wouldn't be over too quickly and the goal was information, not victory.
The powered suit was an item in the game that let low level players play against high level players, essentially what it is is an armor that mimics a high level player (maybe level 70 - 80 or so, the books don't actually say) by having it's own HP and MP that are used in the stead of the player's HP and MP, it's weakness though is that the player inside is still highly vulnerable because their own personal HP is still the same so if the enemy has armor piercing attacks, something basically every high level player has but many low level players might not, they're in danger.
5:57 because the npcs of nazarick that encountered failures, are the ones getting character developments. Characters were Shalltear, Cocytus, Nabe Gamma, Lupus Beta and Sebas, so far.
When Ainz stated in the previous episode that he had "lost interest" in the battle/war, I don't believe he meant it in terms of boredom. I believe the murder of the Prince by the nobles had kind of left a bad taste in his mouth. He was so disgusted by their cowardly act, he didn't even want to be present for the battle that followed.
Also another way to know that it was PA is that he didn't have the red orb in his torso because it is a world item and PA can replicate Ainz items...as you can see when he morphs back into his original form he is wearing Ainz robes
Don’t forget-we’ve seen “Riku Aganeia’s” armor before: in the room of the Platinum Dragon Lord who was talking to the old woman at the start of Season Two.
12:00 You've got that right. It's basically a weak guy (by Nazarick standards) riding a suit that is way above his grade. I think we get more details on this by the end of this episode.
13:38 : A little tidbit, because the translation in the subtitles is poor. He's not saying that skeletons are weak against "physical" attacks, he's saying that skeletons are weak against "bashing" attacks, but that he took countermeasures against that specific weakness. We've seen that a few times already. In season 1, Nabe fought the skeletal dragons with her sword sheathed. That was because skeletons are resistant to slashing attacks and weak to bashing. Another more subtle reference to that was when the Workers invaded Nazarick, when they fought Ainz, the archer used large tipped arrows to attack Ainz because she thought he'd be weaker to bashing than piercing arrows. There wasn't even a verbal mention of it, but there's a lot of attention to details in this show. 16:00 : Yeah, the Thirteen Heroes were mentioned and it's not known at this point in the story whether they were players. It's unlikely all of them were players (especially with what we learn at the end of this episode), but it's possible some were either players or NPCs. We also know Rigrit, the old woman who was talking with the dragon and reminiscing about the past. Rigrit mentioned giving a beating to "that Inberun girl" who can be inferred to be Evileye. Fluder (the old wizard from the Empire) also mentioned that his ability to cast 6th tier spells mean he has surpassed Rigrit. So he believes she's limited to the 5th tier. It's possible he underestimates her, but even if he does, there's a huge margin before we get to Ainz. By the way, Evileye mentions creating the "Vermin Bane" spell to fight one of the Evil Gods who were the Thirteen heroes' enemies. So it's quite likely Evileye fought alongside the heroes back then or even used to be one of them. (I limited this to information that has already been given in the anime to avoid any possible spoilers.) 19:00 : Grasp heart is indeed tier 9 magic, but the armor is remote controlled. It has no heart. 35:26 : There's a huge disparity in information and assumptions between Ainz and Tsa (the dragon). Tsa is considering that, just maybe, the sorcerer king has a second world item that he didn't bring and he's worried about that possibility. Oh, boy! Nazarick owns eleven world items which would make the world isolation barrier entirely redundant, all the guardians can wear one, not be obstructed by it and gang up on Tsa. Tsa believes he has a good gauge on Ainz and that he can take him. On the other hand, Ainz knows he lack intel. He knows the armor was remote controlled. Ainz is the only one who knows that fight was between two puppets, and that he needs to get a proper gauge on the puppet master. What's truly frightening about a villain like Ainz is that he isn't just powerful, he also has no hubris. Hubris is always the downfall of the mighty in stories.
Well PDL also believes there would be no problems fighting Ainz even if he was as strong as Shalltear, so theres plenty of confidence in his own strength
Last episode is what some people (including me) call the Disney Princess episode. Think Beauty and the Beast. Everything will come back together in a series of flashbacks.
I am proud to say I had realized it was Pandora's actor the moment Albedo spoke to him, because she talks to him very respectfully which sh wasn't doing in this episode so i realized it was pandora without even looking at the chest piece.
oh what the movie covers is just so AMAZING that you shouldn't feel bad that it doesnt continue on from season 4 its my favorite arc and has the BEST GIRL from all of the books, trust me ITS GOOD
before announcing the fifth season, when they release the Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom movie they may reveal information about volume 17 of the light novel, and after volume 18 they could just talk about a new season of the anime, more or less I estimate that it could be between 2026 and 2028.
grasp heart is very strong for new world standards not so much for yigdrazil. That character is using a puppet and it thous doesn't work on him but would almost differently also not work on him in dragon form. That shows that he is one of the strongest in the new world. That Spell isn't effective in PvP against other players or very strong new-worlders because they would either be immune against it outright or because they have counter measures. Albedo also mentioned in this episode that she herself is immune against death magic when the armored dude attacked her. Don't remember what level grasp heart is. You have impressive memory if that is correct. :,D I am an overlord nerd and I don't remember that. It's high level for new-world standards and it is a good indicator if a character is strong. Ains character build is role playing oriented but mid maxed player builds or new-worlders would not have that spell in there repertoire if they are close to max level. Ains just has it because it's cool.
in the scene with the 8 fingers at the begin, the leaders were unsure how should handle their ppl, if the playing children and such were too long and just in case send someone to tell em to be even quieter then already were. in addition to chaining coco doll in the main entrance room, just in case, also had always one of the leaders present and switch em out in shifts while they were waiting for someone from nazarick to come and get em. they were also unsure if would actually come or not, just told to be ready. they were probably waiting for like 1 months in the mansion at that point. essential as reward for their good service were told to pick 1000 of their ppl and have em wait there and be ready. the leaders had to struggle with picking who gets and who not - the most promising ppl and their families were picked more or less. 8 fingers was a lot bigger then just 1k members. when they arrive at the fake nazarick in the woods, they were told to wait there for 2 weeks and had supplies for that time, for their safety a bunch of undead were placed in a big radius around the place for their protections, as those were dumb ones tho, were told to not move past the perimeter as they might would get attacked by em otherwise. there was also essentially a small village build around the fake nazarick, iirc. coco doll is taken to the cockroach room. just in there for like 24 hrs or so maybe. for eternal protection a small price. auras beasts. frost virgins for cocytus (they are actual part of his retinue on the floor he governs). and a bunch of hanzos for mare (just assigned as additional protection, just in case).
The suits were introduced to Yggdrasil as a means to 1. Help new players level up faster and 2. To capitalize on a wave of mecha enthusiasm. The suit essentially sets all your stats to a predefined level value, except for HP (and MP? Not sure if I remember that part right.) Nazarick actually got a ton of those in their own vault because one of their members experimented with them quite a bit and thought he could use them to fight with others on equal footing (since he was more of a blacksmith) but it turns out that was a bad idea. The suits have a few flaws, for one not changing HP/MP, also replacing your stats which will do no good if your stats are already better also only being able to use a pre-selection of spells the suits have been loaded with, which is a natural limited on the kind of situations one can react to. Of course for the new world a suit like that is broken, if one looks past someone like Nazarick, because people generally tend to be far weaker.
The red armor is an item that came as a gift with the Yggdrassil expansion pack, an item for new players, the guy was just lucky to find it since it has no level requirement.🤓 Also, no spoilers here, but remember, the dragon called himself the "protector of the world", and who could endanger the world in the first place? That's right, Players! By the way, the most popular theory in the fandom about Riku is that he was the leader of the 13 heroes, a player who arrived in the NW 200 years ago and who died under suspicious circumstances...
32:25 Not just one country. We're seen three directly so far. However, it is important to note that the Re-Estize kingdom is (or rather was) a comparatively minor country in terms of military strength.
Yeah, Albedo's staff is a world item called Ginnungagap (named after the primordial void in Norse mythology), which functions essentially as just a portable nuke. It just has the ability to create a huge explosion. And yeah, Ainz would've been able to make it through the barrier. His red orb is a world item, though we know neither the name nor the effect. It is funny how PDL ruminates on the possibility of Ainz having 2 world items in his possession. In reality, they have 11 world items, including two of the 20 strongest ones, which disappear after a single use. The next guild with the most world items had only 3. Ainz Ooal Gown were certainly good at hoarding cool stuff.
26:20 there are beings like that, but most know the strength players can hold. Going against a Player whom they have little info on is essentially a death sentence because they dont know how many or what kind of allies they have. Because of that, most stay secluded or avoid players until they are affected by them. PDL being the only one to take action so far after Azuth requested it when Ainz decided to wipe out a nation.
at 34:10, I'm pretty sure Riku is talking about resurrection magic on Azuth at this point, as he's considering killing Azuth to give the armor to someone more obedient, but he's worried with resurrection magic, that whoever resurrects him will get whatever information he has or the fact that the dragon lord killed him.
Pandora is MVP, he gets a lot of information and the enemy gets false information about full body armor suit (tofu) that fights albedo... as far as I know, it is used by beginners in the game yggdrasil to increase overall stats. It's not very strong, it's difficult to use and has several weaknesses. If wearing full armor, cannot use other additional attributes to increase stats. that's why pro players or high level players don't like to use it or think it's useless. but it's different for people in the new world.
25:36 "I don't know if you can level up in this world." You can, but it is unknown if you can level past 100. That's something Ainz was testing, but I think the result was not communicated. Probably failed though.
Confirmed failure. This was back during the katze massacre, when he cast Ia! Shub Niggurath the number of people killed shouldve leveled him up but he felt no different
I really like Azuth, because he’s like the Iron Man of overlord. His greatest strength is being able to distract and escape his enemies so that his stronger ally’s can take out the big bad. I was high-key impressed by his performance, considering he’s only about level 50-70 with the suit. Also, the one controlling the suit is the platinum dragon lord. He is a level 90-100 dragon lord, and is one of the stronger dragon lords- but not the strongest. There are actually a lot like him, very few of which we actually know much about.
what what ive heard pandoras actor has access to all the skills of whomever he copied, perhaps not super tier tho and is about 80% as strong as that person.
Most people I think theorize that Riku is actually a player that was a friend of Tsa(platinum dragon lord) and he was just lying when he said that he just came up with that name randomly.
Luke is really struggling with names XD The dragon said he was considering killing the guy in the red suit and give it to someone else, but fear him being resurrected and talk about it. We're still unsure if a player can be resurrected as we've not seen one yet.
FYI: about the Overlord world, this is only at the tip of a continent and even the novel doesn't cover the entire continent. If asked if there is someone as strong as Nazarick, it is very possible, even if this continues into season 5 there are many strong people appearing
33:51 He is talking how Azuth could be resurrected if he is killed, not Ainz. The dragon was talking about killing Azuth to give the armor to someone better. But then realized that he could be resurrected and may talk about what happened.
20:00 - In hindsight, that should have been a big hint that this was, in fact, Pandora's Actor and not Ainz. Ainz the PVP expert also doesn't fight like that, he fights simply, effectively and brutally. Pandora's Actor is the dramatic one :D
7:06 Is like what Ainz said in season 3 with the worker group when he ordered Shalltear to follow Arche and kill her. Being able to just straight up die is a mercy in Nazarick.
no red orb in ainz's stomach, very sus~~ - the armour azuth, the leader of 'drop of red', uses is a super modular thing in yggdrasile, they can essentially boost the power of a player to be equal to around lv 80 or so. it can store a bunch of different spells in its modules. and the weapon can also be customized to use different ammos it seems. there were a bunch of limiting factors that ended up making em unappealing to use for highlevel players despite how the machine looks like, destroying the jet engines on the back wouldnt make it stop being able to fly, they are supposedly just cosmetic, accordingly to a i n z. thats at least how it worked in yggdrasil. that part might have changed in the new world now, but is just guess of mine. he first shown using chain dragon lightning a 7th tier spell and afterward he uses fire storm, which is a divine aoe fire spell. that green spell he uses later is an unnamed instant death spell. "i could easily catch up on the war bicon (if i could actually use it)"
17:55 In "Yggdrasill", if the damage is completely nullified, additional effects will also be nullified. (with exceptions) Therefore, Ainz asks how they achieved the additional effect of knockback.

There is a dragon lord who can take on 2 floor guardians at the same time. He is the strongest in the new World.
Its the father of the platinum dragon lord. The dragon with the armor.
Former means the first option
So about the Battle:
- Pandora's Actor quickly deduced that the suit was hollow and likely being puppeted by a hidden third party.
Plus, the way Albedo speaks to him before she remembers to play her role, and the way he keeps referring to them each playing roles.
Also the fact how he was very dramatic in the way he fought and did the anime exposition talk.
Like, when teleporting he grabs his robe when that's not necessary at all. XD
I never noticed the lack of the orb 👀
🤔🤔
@@666HeroHero That's right. Pandora's Actor did that in season 2, when he spoke to Sebas, then used _Greater Teleportation._
Ironically, that kicks off a whole comedy bit in the _Pure Pure Pleiades_ spinoff.
Albedo is not saying that she can ride the bicorn but exactly the opposite, she laments how she can't catch up to him precisely because she can't use her bicorn.
Also Grasp hearts not working precisely because there is nobody in the armor fir the spell to grasp his heart.
Shes not really lamenting, she could catch up to him if she wanted since she was given items to increase her flight speed
"Albedo did not have any abilities that could boost her own flight speed.
@-Apoptos-
The lamenting part is not Because she "can't catch him" but rather because she can't ride the bicorn specifically because she still has not had Ainz ehhm...remove the reason she can't ride it.
I mean I doubt graps heart would work on the real platinum dragon lord either, atleast in the way how it worked with other opponents ains faced. I think grasp heart would affect platinum dragon lord in the sense that it would stun him, but it would not straight up instakill him.
@@DemiCape it either insta kills or fails there is no in between
@@chrisk3127from what i have heard from other people that have read the source. If you have enough resistance to it, then the only side effect is a stun and there will be no instakill.
PDL: "Perhaps the Sorcerer King has two world items..."
Nazarick and their 11 world class items: "Allow us to introduce ourselves"
02:10 "This all started because an idiot decided to steal from a caravan."
When Philip was introduced, you asked "is he a moron?"
My comment on this was "you have no idea yet."
This guy stole from the Sorcerer King, triggering the annihilation of the whole kingdom.
The moron shows up on horseback in full plate armor (he has no experience as a warrior nor wearing the armor, so its more in his way then anything else)
and 50ish levies who he could not even bother to outfit, meaning they showed up in their regular clothes and wooden farm equipment as weapons.
Yeah... That guy... That dude is something
its not shown in the anime but according to LN he took the sorcerer kingdom flag from the caravan and on his way back he paraded it openly to the public showing that he "won" against the sorcerer kingdom
Well damn
In the light novel they discussed what level Platinum Dragon Lord's Magic Armor was. Albedo and Shaltear say that it's around level 80-85 as they're more experienced with an opponent like that armor but Pandora's Actor was the one who personally fought him unlike the other two who were spectators so the Overlord community considers the armor at level 85-90.
true i remember that part
Always smarter to over estimate and enemy than underestimate
No, from Ainz he says that even the strongest powered suits could only offer offensive capabilities equivalent to level 80.
@@-Apoptos- Be interesting if, since they're no longer fully bound by Yggdrasil game rules, they modify any to be above that
@@DracoSafarius Yggdrasil items and beings seem to still be bound to its rules, maybe its possible if a New Worlder could somehow alter it?
@@-Apoptos-sorry may have misremembered
Pandora's Actor is truly the goat for me out of all guardians 😂
I love him!
He wasn’t “Bored”, he just lost his War boner over the other side turning against its leader. Imagine if you were hyped for a match and the other side just side “You know what, you win” before it even started.
well that is true
They just made the same mistake as Clementine, and killed the only human in a 10 mile radius that Ainz had any interest in, which sealed their fates in the worst way possible.
Ainz wanted to try to spare the kingdom after meeting the prince, but then the one person he liked that he wanted to spare was betrayed by his people. ainz was pissed being bored was him saying screw it I dont care kill them all.
@@riverflow6921spare some of the kingdoms citizen, but after those foolish noble kill Zanac, Ainz-sama tell Cocytus and Mare to kill them all
True
Awesome
For 17:28 I assume you just didnt finish the video? Maybe you forgot but PDL definitely mentions it after the fight
30:52 not quite sure what youre trying to say but the ring was made from wild magic, its not a players
@@-Apoptos- Yeah, haven't finished the video at this point. Decided to write the comment first, before I lost the thought XD
@@-Apoptos- Is it? I don't think that Wild Magic can create items. I thought it's player's item, since he sits in the guild base with all the items.
10:15 "Is the bicorn the horny horse?"
Precisely. That episode was a bit of a comedic interlude, but it still had some significant information.
And no, she is most definitely *not* saying she can ride it. On the contrary, she can't catch up *because* she can't ride it.
Its not that she cant catch up its just that with her bicorn she would normally be able to
"Albedo did not have any abilities that could boost her own flight speed.
The answer was because she was waiting to see what her opponent’s next move would be."

tbh the translation there is a bit meh
Ah... Poor Albedo
@@diostaku2 shes an automaton
Pdl is one of the 13 heroes
Here is the bow scene, uncut
“Wait! Wait! I haven’t finishe-”
Ainz, in the midst of Riku’s attacks, threw his staff behind himself. He could see that Riku was slightly confused.
Ainz kneeled down immediately.
“Wait! Please wait! Listen to me!”
The greatsword in Riku’s hand stopped on its way to Ainz’s head.
That we were the greater evil?!”
“…You went too far. There had to be better ways to deal with that.”
Ainz raised his head.
Riku’s greatsword remained suspended, it seemed like he had no intention to strike him at the moment.
“That is because Your Excellency was not the victim! How would Your Excellency have dealt with this?! When the grain that your countrymen toiled to produce was stolen away?!”
“If you did not have the power that you have, things would not have turned out this way. People with power have to be careful about how they use their power and take responsibility for their actions - I, for one, protect the world. Indeed. This world is under my protection.”
Upon hearing his opponent’s rhetoric, Ainz thought, this idiot is finally talking.
It is the source of all faults.”
Ainz observed Riku in silence, calming his breath as much as he could.
That is why - Perish.”
Whoosh, the greatsword swung down.
That dragon lord is actually ruthless he is planning to kill the current user of that armor for someone more fitting according to him
19:25 Yes, he said that the armor is remotely controlled.
If he's right, it means the armor would be empty.
So, no heart to grasp.
It doesn't matter how powerful a spell is if it has no valid target.
However, I think the dragon lord would have ways to protect against grasp heart with his wild magic even if he was fighting personally. It's just a gut feeling tough,
Even if it wasn't the case, that spell would at most stun the dragon, since the instant death effect is only 100% safe on a low-level enemy.
The hint it wasn’t really Ainz was that he was still using his “Ainz voice” for his inner monologues instead of his “human voice”.
04:20 "You all started some fad diet."
Riiight. I doubt anyone, no matter how desperate they are to lose weight, would willingly try *that* diet though.
It really eats you up inside.
(I also agree that they really nailed Hilma's design here.)
Fun fact:
Eating and giving yourself tapeworms was a real diet fad. They even advertised tapeworm pills in catalogs.
😳😳
He's also severely underestimating the sorcerer kingdom at this pointm he stated that they have 2 world items but in reality, the have about 11
Also, the name of the PDL is Tsaindorcus Vaison. Which is why his farmilliars call him Tsa
No, they assumed that Niguns squad being wiped out was becausen of the resurrection of that dragon lord, they went with Downfall of Castle and Country to dominate it but met Shalltear instead. After their scuffle, they retreated and PDL met her on their trail, he wasnt working with them
He believes they likely have 2 because Riku told him about guilds that did. Ainz has 11 world items
@@-Apoptos- oooh. Ok. I guess I'm misremembering
you probably missed it but the dragon said that he uses a special form of magic called wild magic or soul magic,
that's why his HP always shrank when he cast spells and no, he himself and the other guy are not players, which you can tell by the fact that he himself uses the wrong word for player and NPCs,
but he still knows these words because Ains wasn't the first player to come to the new world, he also knows the 8 greedy kings and the 6 great gods 😁
19:15 he literally just said, that body of armour is REMOTELY controlled, thats why grasp heart doesnt work, there is no HEART
So when the platinum dragon lord gave that false name he knew instantly.
this fight was essentially just 2 puppets fighting each other while the mastermind controling them was just trying to gather intels lol
Just a quick reminder the 13 heros, the 6 great gods, the great minatour / all talk sage and the 8 greed kings were all players but none of them are still around some how they all died, that is why Ainz is so cautious and we do not know what killed them but it could still be out there.
note the 'lance' shaped hole on the armours right pauldron. looking very 'pippet' shaped you could say...
ainz talking in ainz voice to self the whole time, never in suzukis voice~
ainz noting that the armour doing impossible movement - doing an aileron roll without any movement of the legs like its being pulled by invisible strings. he is musing that the person is manipulating the wpns similarly to the dancing blades that one warrior lady was doing from the 8 fingers (the one that got killed by sebas). and that he was maybe doing the same with his armour , while still in it.
the wpns orbiting around the armour move along with the armour - when the armour got pushed away so did the weapons, as they are also a part of the armours 'body'.
the doom lord has a lot of psychological spells and auras and they are all ineffective vs the armour.
when ainz summons the elemental skull, the fight actually continues for a while longer, as the elemental skull slowly cycles through his spell repertoire, testing if any spells would show to b e especially effective against it, and only started his spiel with throwing himself down after having tested like 4 or so spells.
ainz likes using the skull cuz it has a bunch of spells ainzs never bothered learning.
all the spells he showed using againt the armour were either lv9 or 10 tier spells
polar claw 9th tier ice spell. no special gimmick, just the strongest ice spell in yggdrasil.
vermilion nova a 9th tier fire spell. pillar of flame that encapsules the target.
mist of super acid - 10th tier acid spell, iirc that one showed very effective against em.
the skull started charging up to cast the spell "seven trumpeter" but was interrupted before could learn what it does; its name implied that its a divine spell, and apparently from the 10th tier. so some sort of mega smite spell probably...
the skull is a glass canon kinda summon.
-
the armour also run into shalltear after she got brainwashed, he got hit and instantly had to retreat more or less....
All the spells it casts are also maximized
ok, disclaimer, back in season 1 or 2 when we first saw this dragon lord, he had a flash-back where he thought about his battle with shalltear (which dusted him) there the reason why "i'm sure that there are other entities stronger than me", also he's not a player, but someone who had contact with players there the reason he mis-spells "player" and "NPC".
love how you mention stuff that was clearly written in the comments, like Pandora only being able to mimic abilities 20 levels lower. Really shows you've been reading the comments
Glad you've enjoyed the reaction series and that this community was good to you, I'm looking forward to your continued anime explorations.
Answering Questions:
4:50 Hilma definitely looks different here compared to when she was first introduced. Thinner, more Gaunt in the face and high-strung in general.
10:12 Yes The Bicorn is the “horny horse” the opposite of a Unicorn, its unclear if she can actually use it though
11:55 Luke reached the correct interpretation more or less, though it was transported by a player, not necessarily made by one
13:10 Answer No he’s not from Red Drop
15:30 Its not really a test. Its just a straightforward offer/threat “if you submit to me you live, if you don’t you die”
18:40 Grasp heart didn’t work because there was no heart to Grasp, The armor is empty and being controlled from a distance
19:10 Grasp heart is indeed 9th tier magic
21:00 Unlike a previous example, this was indeed a good example of "anime conversation" but Pandora was just doing it because he's dramatic like that, and it was a strong indication of who was really there even before the bow
29:00 yes, its Albedo’s staff, and Albedo was only able to break back into the barrier that was isolating Ainz because she has a world Item, that gives a good indication that the Armor guy is incredibly strong, and who is actually the platinum dragon Lord from season 2, who 200 years ago controlled the armor as a member of the 13 heroes.
29:25 He meant the Suit
30:10 oh you are cooking 😉, I wonder if this “Ainz” happened to act out of character at any point during his battle with the armor (yes he did) too bad you didn’t commit you were so close.
33:50- There is but he is a long-dead friend of the Dragon Lord
34:00 No he was contemplating killing the leader of Red Drop with the armor so that the armor could be given to someone stronger, but was deliberating on whether that was actually a good idea or not.
Also Albedo was actually able to cath up to the dude even without the Bicorn, cause they were ready for the chase and she was equipped with the items that boost her speed, so she was holding back to let him fly away
when i watched this episode when it was out, i realised instantly it wasn't Ainz for two reasons :
1) the way Albedo talked to Ainz was not respectful at first and she had to correct herself + she doubted "Ainz" ability to do his part well and Pandora's actor had to reassure her.
30:20 hot damn. luke genuinly surprised me there. nice cooking!
you know that the guild of Ains Ooal Gown was in possession of 11 world items, and was the only guild with that many, and the closest any other guild came was three!
pandora's actor, being a doppelganger, can only use 80% of the power from the person he transformed. so he was fighting with 80% of ainz's power. of course he didn't fight seriously, he just wanted to collect intel.
Luke, seconds after someone explains the reason.
"Hmm.. I wonder how that happened?"
I was waiting for this reaction to the point I was refreshing to see if the video was up several time. XD
But to answer some of your questions:
19:03 Grasp Heart is indeed a 9th level spell.
The dragon calls then "enn-pe-ce" so I question how much he actually knows about the players
Another genius ideas from ainz
34:50 while ainz would bow like that, the biggest giveaway that it wasnt ains was the lack of red orb inside Ainz's skeleton. That in itself is a world item and would allow the real ainz to escape from the barrier.
Cant really say he wouldnt when he said he'd bow any number of times if it made his opponent falter like that
Waiting for the last 5 minutes of the last episode. That caught everyone by surprise
this is my fav ep it was so good lore wise , action wise, and even had a really cool plot twist impressive
Ainz says the strongest powered suits he knows of could only offer the offensive capabilities of a level 80
@@-Apoptos- well there you go, i did mention somewhere between 70 - 80 but yea
00:25 "Ainz is bored."
I would say disappointed instead.
You are correct. The suit is from the game (Ygdrassil). It was passed to him and he is a normal (albeit high level for them) New Worlder.
(I limited this to information that has already been given in the anime to avoid any possible spoilers.)
19:00 : Grasp heart is indeed tier 9 magic, but the armor is remote controlled.
I am proud to say I had realized it was Pandora's actor the moment Albedo spoke to him, because she talks to him very respectfully which sh wasn't doing in this episode so i realized it was pandora without even looking at the chest piece.
oh what the movie covers is just so AMAZING that you shouldn't feel bad that it doesnt continue on from season 4
its my favorite arc and has the BEST GIRL from all of the books, trust me ITS GOOD
i love that people don't notice it's not Ainz even with the red globe missing and Albedo acting indifferent
before announcing the fifth season, when they release the Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom movie they may reveal information about volume 17 of the light novel, and after volume 18 they could just talk about a new season of the anime, more or less I estimate that it could be between 2026 and 2028.
Grasp heart didn't work cause it was just a remote control robot, robot/armour has no heart, sooo, that's why it failed
grasp heart is very strong for new world standards not so much for yigdrazil. :,D
I am an overlord nerd and I don't remember that.
Ainz believed there were 2 or 3 sets of it in Nazaricks storage
The red armor is an item that came as a gift with the Yggdrassil expansion pack, an item for new players, the guy was just lucky to find it since it has no level requirement.🤓
Also, no spoilers here, but remember, the dragon called himself the "protector of the world", and who could endanger the world in the first place? That's right, Players!
By the way, the most popular theory in the fandom about Riku is that he was the leader of the 13 heroes, a player who arrived in the NW 200 years ago and who died under suspicious circumstances...
11:51 That is a Yggdrasil “Artifact”. But the guy himself is from this world.
I was like, “Great, he finally figured something out; nope, he just talked himself out of it.”
Pandora is MVP, he gets a lot of information and the enemy gets false information
about full body armor suit (tofu) that fights albedo... as far as I know, it is used by beginners in the game yggdrasil to increase overall stats. It's not very strong, it's difficult to use and has several weaknesses. If wearing full armor, cannot use other additional attributes to increase stats. that's why pro players or high level players don't like to use it or think it's useless. but it's different for people in the new world.
25:36 "I don't know if you can level up in this world."
You can, but it is unknown if you can level past 100.
There are actually a lot like him, very few of which we actually know much about.
what what ive heard pandoras actor has access to all the skills of whomever he copied, perhaps not super tier tho
and is about 80% as strong as that person.
Most people I think theorize that Riku is actually a player that was a friend of Tsa(platinum dragon lord) and he was just lying when he said that he just came up with that name randomly.
Luke is really struggling with names XD
The dragon said he was considering killing the guy in the red suit and give it to someone else, but fear him being resurrected and talk about it.
"Man, what's happening to me....I got two degrees" brrrr that must be cold lol but loving your reactions during all of this ^.^
Ainz meant the suit ainz has no idea about the platinum dragon lord.
no red orb in ainz's stomach, very sus~~

the armour azuth, the leader of 'drop of red', uses is a super modular thing in yggdrasile, they can essentially boost the power of a player to be equal to around lv 80 or so.
it can store a bunch of different spells in its modules. and the weapon can also be customized to use different ammos it seems.
there were a bunch of limiting factors that ended up making em unappealing to use for highlevel players
despite how the machine looks like, destroying the jet engines on the back wouldnt make it stop being able to fly, they are supposedly just cosmetic, accordingly to a i n z. thats at least how it worked in yggdrasil. that part might have changed in the new world now, but is just guess of mine.
he first shown using chain dragon lightning a 7th tier spell and afterward he uses fire storm, which is a divine aoe fire spell.
that green spell he uses later is an unnamed instant death spell.
"i could easily catch up on the war bicon (if i could actually use it)"
13:21 you forgot again
you saw that armor before
he was fighting shaltear in a flashback in season 2 if i remember correctly
you even saw the owner
17:55
In "Yggdrasill", if the damage is completely nullified, additional effects will also be nullified. (with exceptions)
Therefore, Ainz asks how they achieved the additional effect of knockback.
