Many people actually complains about how much time the author takes in this minor characters, i personaly like it cause they feel more like people rather than faceless NPCs e en if only to die a horrendous death later.
(Spoiler alert maybe)I think it also goes to show that he was indeed transferred to a new world and not into a game. The reason he's there is due to the dragonlords a some hundred years ago finding amazing weapons in another world and wanting them for themselves. They didn't know the world items were items in a game world, and their magic to get the weapons over also brought with them them the players that had them and sometimes their bases (likely only if they were located there at the time due to some separate timeline novel info).
If you want to read OVERLORD, in the OVERLORD subreddit FAQ, there is a google drive with all current 16 volumes. If you are going to keep reacting to more OVERLORD anime in the future, just make sure not to read volumes 12 and 13, as well as anything past 14.
The tomb of Nazarick was an undiscovered high level dungeon in Helheim. Nines Ooal Gown which is the precursor guild to Ainz Ooal Gown discovered it and cleared the dungeon. They were allowed to use it as the guild base as a reward by the game admins. It was not as complex and defended as it is now when it was initially discovered. If i remember correct it had 3 floors and lot of high level skeletons/undead. After getting the dungeon as the guild base, they pretty much overhauled it to a fortress dungeon with max defenses and NPCs. Additional fact - As mentioned in the video given that the guild base was larger than castle they were able to create custom NPC to defend the base. However they were able to create more NPCs than normally allowed due to having access to Prysmatic Crystals, an extremely rare ore in Yggdrasil which can also be used to create world items.
A few small nitpicks that don’t matter in the end: Nines Own Goal (which is the proper spelling of the precursor clan, iirc) had dissolved and reformed into Ainz Ooal Gown before the idea of raiding Nazarick was introduced to the group. The raid was the very first action taken by the newly formed guild. Second: I’m pretty sure it was 5 floors, though it’s been a while since I read the short story in which they obtained Nazarick.
Yeah i believe it the guild base was a dungeon at first and whoever cleared it first could make it their guild base. And the designing is part of the customisation the game allowed.
There are some things that are a bit misleading. *CLASSES* Classes are split into 3 types: Basic, High, and Rare. Basic classes have up to 15 levels and they are generally the first classes you get. High classes have up to 10 levels and often require basic classes to unlock. Rare classes have up to 5 levels and may require 2 or 3 high classes. Not all classes require other classes, sometimes they require levels, quests, and or items. For example, Elder Lich requires the Book of the Dead and level 20 (IIRC). *RACES* While you can technically have multiple racial classes, Players can only have 1 racial tree. For example the following are all of the Skeleton Mage Tree. Skeleton Mage -> Black Lich Skeleton Mage -> Elder Lich -> Night Lich Skeleton Mage -> Elder Lich -> Demi Lich -> Overlord However, Players can't have multiple trees like Skeleton Mage and Vampire. The only time this is possible if for Dragons which players couldn't play as. Dragonling -> Young -> Adult -> Elder -> Ancient Dragon Type (Frost, Fire, Vampiric, ...) *LAST 3* There is a reference in the light novels about the last 3 people. A lot of people interpret this as the last 3 got on, but this isn't the case. Ainz never mentions anyone other than hero hero getting on, but he does mention there were only 3 others who didn't quit. Hero Hero, Bellriver (died in real life), and unknown. Since bell river died and never quit he wouldn't have been able to login. *Guild Base* Guild Bases were effectively dungeons. Once a Guild took it over it became a guild base, but others could try and raid it to take it over. Guild Bases have a set number of NPC levels and this value depends on the guild base itself. Smaller Castle size guild bases have around 700. The highest has 3000, but there was only 1 per world for a total of 9. Nazarick original had 2250 NPC levels, but since they cleared the dungeon on their first attempt they received a bonus of 500 for a total of 2750... which puts them pretty close to the strongest guild bases. *Dying on purpose* Just as you mentioned, players would repeatedly die on purpose to recreate their builds. Since you lost 5 levels (typically) every time you died it was pretty easy to drop down. Luckily it was also pretty easy to level up again in Yggdrasil. *Aura & Mare Died* Aura & Mare died in game during the 1500 player/npc raid.
The light novels are all in the subreddit FAQ post for free, in both White or Black PDF format, quality english translation. I am not a big reader, and I've read Overlord LNs several times. You go through them so fast, trust me. It's a feast for the mind, and I was originally introduced to Overlord by the Anime.
You're in luck! The overlord subreddit actually has all currently translated light novels available in pdf form along with most of the extra stuff like the blu ray specials, the extra side story/what if story and all the available character sheets of the basis characters
You’re in the minority with the Lizardmen. Most people think it’s one of the worst books because they seem to not care about them. Not me though, I’m with you. The lizardmen are legit the most noble people shown in this entire series.
The base of their guild was a generated part of the world and would go over to them after they successfully cleared it first try.

It wasn't because of the primastic ores, but because they had cleared the dungeon in one attempt so the game awarded them with 500 more NPC levels.

I think audiobooks are free and are available on UA-cam
Wait so if an alliance of 1500 "players" failed to raid the Tomb, an alliance of people from the new world would definitely fail...
Keep in mind the ''Losing levels by dying'' part told in this video. Might come handy for the movie ;)
