This version of Spider Man comes off as less mature than the previous incarnations because he's a teenager. This is exactly how they act and most movies tend to focus on Spider Man just being a hero. It's almost like they forget that he's still a kid. That's why I love this version better than the other 2.
Exactly
@Mr. Brodie not all Tobey fans are "toxic". Personally I perfer the Rami movies but I also like the idea of a teenage spider-man. I think MCU spider-man movies are good. But what bothers me is how decked out he is and his constant suit change from movie to movie (ik its to sell toys but still).
@@JinxisHere758 I kinda prefer the Andrew movies but I respect the other two.
I love Peter Parker sounding and acting like a real teen.
@@wtimmins I agree.
“I’ll kill everyone you love”
“I... love your daughter.”
“Shit. I didn’t think that through.”
Lmao
He should of said "I love your wife"🤣
He lied about knowing Spider-man's identity because he is a man of honor in a way, peter saved his life and he's not going to sell him out for some other petty criminal to go after him, he's going to do his time in prison and either reform, or come after peter himself when he gets out, professionals have standards... so to speak.
Wait really!? I always thought it was something like vulture thought if scorpion knew spider man's identity, he would go after everyone peter loved, including Liz
@@elizabethdonner5240 that's a good point too, but I personally think it's more about the respect.
Agreed. While he was a criminal, he wasn't an evil person. Michael Keaton just sells it.
As a child I fell in love with Toby's Spiderman but Tom just sells it for me. He's just a boy in high-school. Not a young adult. The scene where he's just under concrete and screaming for help is so intense...
This spiderman actually seems like he a high-schooler. This is my favorite spider man. I honestly didn't like the more moody grown up vibes spidermen.
Same. Tom looks younger and is younger and acts his age. With Toby it looked like as if they chose some manchild. Like everyone in the og spiderman was old as sh*t to be in a high school role. The only thing i dont like about this one is that it feels like too much stark influence on the suit
@@bilee01 Why are you making a big deal out of it they were only in high school for like 10 minutes. Also if you read he comics he isn't in high school that long.
@@userious258 and? the other ones were still supposed to be teens and they didn't really give off those vibes
@@user-kt3qm8jy8y No did you read my comment. Yeah sure they were in high schools for ten minutes and they felt like adults WHO CARES. Them being in high school doesn't matter Spiderman was in college longer than high school in comics. But it's an adaptation so their not going to follow the comics perfectly.
@@userious258 then don't make them teenagers if they aren't going to freaking act like one 🤣. And evidently people do care otherwise this original comment that you replied under doesn't exist.
Zendaya's MJ is like that because the director wanted the character to read like Daria.
Because spider man is a child he is suppossed to be childish it is being true to the comics
I highly recommend starting at the beginning with the first iron man movie and watching all the movies in order
I did that a few months ago. I didn't like the Iron Man films but I like majority of the Marvel films except for Black Panther, and Thor 2
Agreed
Agreed.
Yep, that would make for some dope reactions!
Starting from iron man tomorrow!!! Stay tuned ❤️
I love this Spider-Man the most out of all of them. Perfect blend of nerdy and funny. People say he depends on iron man too much but he’s just a kid. Other Spider-Man’s have been looking like 28 playing a high school kid, I think they did a great job with him.
Back in the day young actors don't know how to act.
Paul Cotero I think there are plenty of good young actors, Hollywood just always puts older actors in high school roles, like Grease. There are so many good child actors and when they get older they’re still good actors but look too young because we’re so used to older people in high school roles.
Chelsea A I agree. Film studios also want big bankable stars to attract the public. A lot of kids are talented but they’re not famous yet.
🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 Don’t come at Toby like that.
He is literally Iron Man Junior. Iron Man is his uncle Ben.
15:03
If you even cared, you'd actually be here!
*suit opens*
"Oh mY gOD! iT's RObeRt dOWneY JUniOR!!!"
I understood that reference
Remember, MCU films almost always have two extra scenes - mid credit and end credit
Yeah I can’t put both in for copyright reasons!
I love how this Spiderman messes up a lot. He's still a kid. Not a hero that can beat every villain.
Many people criticized that the villain of this movie was oh so easy but Spiderman isn't an adult hero yet. He's still struggling. And that's fine.
That's why I prefer Tom's Spiderman over Toby's.
They went this way instead of the Raimi because it is MUCH closer to the comics. Peter is supposed to be a teenager
Michael Keaton also played Batman. Honestly, he's been in a lot of movies and is an amazing actor!
Yes start at the beginning MCU. The movies are all connected.
You definitely gotta start from the beginning AND watch every end credits scene, everything is connected!!!
he's just a freshman, literally just turned 15 and is already ready to be a martyr :(
😢
Michael Keaton. He was also Batman.
And Beetlejuice. Like who the hell looks at Michael Keaton and their first thought is "Oh that's Jack Frost". Well obviously we got one.
If you ever are going to watch Infinity War and Endgame, it's good that you've seen this one first. The relationship between Stark and Peter is a special one
i really like this version because a lot of people forget that spider-man is a kid yknow. he's supposed to immature, that's what makes him such a breath of fresh air :)
I feel like Tobey was mature, Andrew was edgy and sarcastic, and Tom is more well- a goofy? teenager
You referring to Michael Keaton as Jack Frost instead of Batman is the same energy when I told Nichele Nichols I loved her in Snow Dogs at Megacon hahahaha
Yes! I love that you knew Michael Keaton as Jack Frost, that was my first introduction to him. Then I saw him in Beetlejuice- took a few years for me to realize it was the same actor, that hair threw me off. I did know about him as Batman, but I was more into his later stuff. One of my favorites and I still play his song Frosty the Snowman during Christmas and his version of Have a Little Faith is my favorite version of Have a Little Faith.
My first thought for him is ALWAYS beetlejuice lol.
I got overwhelmed just watching that handshake
You really need to watch Them in ordet to avoid confusion, so start with Ironman 1
Try some of the jumanji movies starting with the classic robin williams movie.
He really is the best high school spiderman to date. I remember high school, that's kind of how we act and talked, getting excited over stupid things like handshakes, the newest show or gadgets, complaining. I think the problem is that most movies, high schoolers are not played by people in their teens but mid 20s to even 30s. This actor I believe was 19 at the time and was an actual teen.
I haven't seen this either and yes start from the beginning please
I can't believe Billy hasn't seen this movie yet. I work at a movie theater and I saw it twice in theaters. My mom and I watched all of the Marvel movies in chronological order. It took us 2 1/2 weeks to binge watch all of them. Also the guy in the prison is Mac Gargan also known as the supervillain Scorpion.
Wait for spiderman 3 (likely to be called "Home World"). They are said to have the mcu tom holland spiderman, the OG toby mcguire spiderman, and even the reboot andrew garfield spiderman. Its basically a live action spiderverse.
Spider-Man started as a teenager in his beginnings in the comics. It's a part that had ,so far been skipped over in previous versions.
Please react to Stand by me its one of my favorite movies from the 80s. The late River Pheonix was in it R.I.P
Terrific film!
One of my fav films and books!
Oh! This was a really good reaction to this movie ; I feel it would be great to watch your reaction to the first Avengers , The Winter Solider (Marvel between Iron Man & Captain America) , the ( Ed Norton version ) of The Hulk , and Superman vs. Batman . Much appreciation to your channel and your editor Antonio .
What I love is that Vulture from the comics is... really f'in goofy. I mean, HORRIBLY goofy.
They did an amazing job reimagining him while still having good callbacks.
so f´in excited for spiderman 3 cuz scorpion might be in it, doc oc from the toby mcguire series will be in, damn it will be so good
Definitely watch the MCU! The movies you have seen hit different after watching all the other movies. As an added bonus, you’ll probably get some extra views
I started with Thor five minutes of Avengers than saw Thor 3. Since then I got all caught up just before Captain Marvel came out. Yes start from the beginning!
Peter from MCU is my favorite ❤️❤️❤️
Billy, I love your commentaries so much. I smile and laugh more than any similar accounts... THANK YOU!
I love you Abby!!! Thank you ❤️
If you where able to do a full reaction sequence to the Marvel Cinematic universe , it would be epicness
Thank you for doing this Billy
Start from the beginning Iron Man, Thor,
I love how they made Peter act like a kid and with a sense of humor because that was similar to the comic book. Like the Andrew Garfield take had alot of joke cracking and feel of the comics but not the teenage feeling of Peter Parker being young, but Tom Holland just gets it right. Ofcourse I love toby Maguire, because it's classic, but he was always so serious, Like the whole 3rd was people crying lol This spiderman is just awesome to me.
Tom Holland is my favorite Spider-Man.
I love this movie
😅
You see him and think Jack Frost, but those of us a bit older than you, call him Batman.
I always imagined when Michael Keaton threatens Peter Parker in the car, Peter going 'oh ok' and ripping his arms off. It's also a great setup for when he breaks free of the wreckage later; that most of his limitations are mental ones, because Spiderman is probably one of the strongest supers on planet Earth (I'm not sure how he ranks against Thor, and Hulk's whole thing is being super strong, but Spiderman is up there)
Great reaction. Please do Billy Elliot (2000). It’s set in England during the devastating 1984 miner’s strike. Billy goes to Sat. boxing classes (dad can barely afford it) & he’s awful. He wanders into a ballet class at the other end of the gym. It’s run by the chain smoking Mrs. Wilkinson. He shows great potential & secretly trades his gloves for dance shoes.
It’s realistic and gritty but isn’t sappy. It has a great cast starring an 11 yr old Jamie Bell (later MCU actor).
You really should start from the beginning most of these Marvel movies have been pretty good honestly and the only ones I haven’t seen yet are Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, and last but not least Ant-Man & The Wasp
I love this. I watch a lot of movie commentary channels but this one is special. You really look like you're having fun and we can see that you really get envolved by every story. I swear it's like I'm watching all these movies for the first time too
I had the same reaction in the theater at the big reveal that you had. And I like how they portrayed Spiderman as kid.
it makes me a little sad that JAck fRost is what you know michael keaton from. He Was Batman.
omg, you HAVE to watch Multiplicity!!!
also, to see Michael Keaton be a complete psycopath : Pacific Heights
My Tombstone:
"When it was time, when the world needed him the most, he had to get the booty."
13:27 Unless I'm referencing them to someone else, I don't ever say 'aunt' before I refer to my aunts, I just call them by their name. Mom, grandma and grandpa (RIP) are the only titles I use. My mom has 3 sisters, they all know they're my aunt's, I have no need to preface their name with 'aunt', nor do they even expect it.
Yes, please go through all the MCU in order! That would be AWESOME! Luv your reactions 🤣🤣
This Peter Parker is supposed to be a sophomore in high school, he’s only fifteen and he’s also only been Spider-Man for less than a year because in Civil War he said he’d been doing the Spider-Man thing for six months and this is like a month after that in the timeline.
So, although you don't know what happened before the 8 years later, what they're doing is reconstructing. I can't remember why they were let go but they ended up taking a lot of advanced technology to recreate into weapons to "help" their people.
I love that happy takes a bigger role later on when yall know what happens
Loving the review. Skydiving is on my bucket list.
to understand everything that happen in this movie you must watch the entire MCU
Please watch A Walk to Remember and Some Kind of Wonderful and PATCH Adams with Robin Williams
13:40 that’s just Troy Barnes giving him the Forest Whitaker eye
Can't believe I have been subbed to your Billy You So Crazy channel all this time and just now found out about this channel
I love this channel and your reactions, they're just awesome and funny AF 😂😂😂 now, fun facts about Donald Glover's appearance: he appeared as Spider-Man in "Community" during a Halloween themed episode and from him voicing Miles Morales for the animated "Ultimate Spider-Man" there was a petition for him to play Spider-Man in a live action film (Andrew Garfield ended up getting the role.) But as fan service as well as an Easter Egg, they have him here as Aaron Davis aka The Prowler who is Miles Morales' uncle. That also implies Miles Morales exists in the MCU to a degree. 😎🎯🔥👑
I think you should do breakfast club. It is an awesome 80s movie
Fun Fact: the actor who plays peter parker was 16 in captain america civil war and 18 in this movie but this spider man verse is so loved and was so seccesfull because the actor did his own stunts and they had a kid play a kid in the movie
also since they couldn't anounce spiderman to be the new member because he said no, i wonder if u noticed happy pulled out a ring and gave it to tony and instead tony proposed to pepper and they anounced that instead
Really enjoyed the video keep up the good work have u ever seen the vampire film lost boys think u would like it
Hey Billy! I've been a "binger" since your first video and I got to say yes to watching the MCU from the beginning in order. It enhances the viewing experience of movies like Avengers Infinity War and Endgame if you do that. Side note, now that you've seen Spider-man: Homecoming, watching Infinity War might hit you differently.
This spiderman is a first year in high school meanwhile Tobey Maguire Spiderman started as a senior and was an adult for the rest of the trilogy. They're going for a younger interpretation this time, which isn't actually that uncommon a lot of the cartoons went that route
I have been binging all these videos hard! Billy is the background of my life this month while I catch up on all of these. (Sorry Billy for all the spam of comments 😂) but he is too hilarious! I want to watch him do Double Dragon, Richie Rich, Blank Check, all the old school kid movies!
The one that came right before this movie was Captain America Civil War because that’s where they officially introduced Peter Parker/ Spider-Man.
Loved it!
Did you just tell me you thought he shot his web into the air and it just guided him like Thor.
I’m embarrassed but at least I’m honest 😂
if you’ve ever played lego marvel superheroes 2 that’s actually exactly what happens 😂
I may be wrong, Im not a huge comic reader. But I believe spiderman does have a web configuration that is basically a hang glider parachute type where he actually can shoot into the air and keep going.
I first heard about the cloaking tech back in middle school. Back in 2002 from a former Boeing employee that used to go to school there and replaced a retired math teacher for a year.
I love love love Tom Holland's Spider-Man because he's so very 15. I love the route they took with him since all the other MCU superheroes were adults. They HAD to make him a kid. And I love how convincingly Tom Holland plays a teenager with teenaged problems. 💓💓💓
I love your videos because when I have nothing to watch I watch you watch what I already watch 😊 yeah
8 years ago in this movie was referencing the first avengers movie and the tech that was left by the aliens that were left behind
this movie takes place sometime after civil war though where tom holland spiderman first appeared
You have to watch from the beginning in order so you’ll be able to understand the Avengers because obviously that’s where they all come together and work as a team, also the movie after Iron man 2 is Thor! Can’t wait to watch that reaction!!!
12:34 this reminds me of the amazing spider-man 2 - gwen’s death scene 🕷🕸
Michael Keaton was actually the first modern Batman. you should watch that if you haven't already, it's pretty amazing.
Billy, if you haven't seen Grease or Chicago please react to one of them next. They are both really awesome fun movies that I think you would really like. Tha is for the reaction!! You're Awesome!! 🙂
I love that now you're doing the Marvel Marathon HAHAHAHAHAHA
The bad guy in the end credit scene is Mat Gargon. Aka The Scorpion.
You really should do The Devil Wears Prada one of the best movies out there
Haha great reaction 🇦🇷
If he doesn’t do a commentary of Spider-Man into the Spider-verse we riot.
Hey Billy! Have you watch The Amazing Spider-man 1 and 2? The Andrew Garfield one? Andrew's version of spider-man is a lot different, by the love interest, suit and looks. But the story is like Toby's version more than Tom's version. And Andrew's version is probably the most saddest spider-man movie among Toby's and Tom's, but it shows more Peter Parker origins, like about his parents and childhood. But Billy if you want to watch this movie, i recommend you watch it in order from 1 to 2, not like when you watch Tom's version, you watch Far from home first then you watch Homecoming i assume? I would still recommend you watch it, so when you watch the new Spider-man No way home, you wouldn't be confused as much.
Billy when you get a chance you should watch powder.
heck yeah!
Michael Keaton, aka OG Batman, is playing Adrian Tombs aka Vulture.
I would say watching the MCU out of order does you a disservice of plenty of surprises along the journey, so will dampen your experience. Also, because of the ending credits to each movie, it will seem disjointed and probably not get you hyped or even understand what that means, because it's out of context. They set up expectations for what's next.
in one of the old spiderman games on ps2/original xbox he could swing in the sky above buildings
The guy in prison with Keaton at the end has a scorpion tattooed on his neck. There is a notable Spiderman villain named Scorpion. I was a little sad they didn't use him for the sequel, but there's always the next phase.
Same, but we did get to see him in Into The Spider-verse
Great video, I would like you to start from the beginning though I’m sure you will become a huge MCU fan then
Billy Peter is a 16 year old boy who got spider powers, in the comics. I love someone new to the whole world. I love the original 3 I was old enough to watch them and remember. But the new age spiderman really embodied a Teenager boy who gained super powers. Watch how Tony talks to Peter, he's a child at the end of the day and tony is a veteran in the supers game.
Edit: Like look no matter where tony is physically in the world he was there to save Peter with his Suits. That's why Peter says "you're not even here" and boom Tony busts out the suit. It's the power of the father figure IS there in person telling him what's real of that scene. But no matter what Tony has been there for Peter.
Edit 2: Because he's a 16 year old boy exposed to e.ts and is quiet smart mathematically, but he's a growing boy at the end of the day.
These movies did a great job ✌️☮️
The first movie of the MCU I've ever watched was this one - Spider-man Homecoming. It was for a birthday of my friend and they just told me: "we're goig and you're coming with us". I'm lucky it was spider-man since I knew only Spidey out of all of the other superheroes thanks to the first three movies of spider-man. I grew up on the third one and then realized there are more lol.
Anyways, I had no idea there was such a thing as the MCU until I went to see Homecoming with no expectations. I fot out of the movie theater, bouncing and eager to watch it again. Since I couldnt my brother told me to try and watch the rest of the MCU. I had no idea what half of the stuff in Spider-man meant because I haven't seen the rest of the movies, but it was still awesome. I ignored my brother, thinking the MCU would be bad and that i liked Homecoming only because it was about Spider-man. And so i went on and watched Civil War because I knew Spider-man appeared there first. From there I moved on to Iron-man cause my brother insisted i'd like it and then I just kept on going until I watched all of the movies. Spider-man is still my favorite though. He's WAAAAAAY up there with Iron-man/Tony Stark. i like the funny type.
great video!
You should totally watch Civil War and the Avengers. They are really good.
If you ever watched “freaks and geeks” on Hulu. The kid who plays Sam on that wrote Spider-Man homecoming. The kid who played Bill on F&G played the teacher on here
This feels a lot more like Spiderman to me than the old movies, but that's likely because I grew up watching the animated series. Also I find the humor in this one a lot better. The overall mood of this version is much more enjoyable.
Kinda random but you should watch Million Dollar Baby! One of my top 5 favorite movies
Yo I need that t shirt😂
