Small bit of info for newer players: for aiming the flux grenade, remember IT DOES NOT FOLLOW AN ARC. It flies straight as a bullet and it is extremely fast.
You're very welcome! I figured out a while back that I wasn't going to keep up with the fulltime UA-camrs, so just focus on what interests me...which usually ends up being the "niche" and the "obscure". 😂🍻
Flash bangs that jolt are underrated for anything with champions I don't think I've ever seen anyone with them apart from me 😂 Edit: jolt for overloads
I've been using a blind sort of build for over a year now on my Arc Titan. People sleep on it and now with Fist of Havoc getting a damage buff and faster recharge, it's going to be even more fun.
@@giantslayer9335 this right here. Titans were the undisputed kings of volatile, Hunters now have much easier time accessing volatile rounds non-stop. Warlock also got Icarus Dash, which is just a repackaged Titan exotic perk (Twilight Garrison).
D2 Vanilla and even D1 striker titan were well known for their grenades and grenade generation. Until Twilight Garrison it was extremely common to see an armamentarium titan with lightning grenades. I also don’t think it would be fair if Warlock was the only class in the game that could specialize in grenades, seeing as they have the strand, solar, and void grenade augments.
@ that’s a good point as well. You can even see it with melee. Warlock and Hunter also have potent melee builds, but (with the notable exception of Arcstrider) they work a lot differently. Thats how they should be designed
5 test runs per grenade is commendable. Thank you ironworker! This was strictly a damage test video, but I thought i could add that flashbangs stun unstoppable champions. Great for utility. No one uses skips because they were almost exclusive to pvp at one point, but shinobus vow made them usable in pve. I would say their strength is being able to spam them when you build into them. Not crazy spamming like pre nerf, but they're still pretty fun to toss lol
Well, good work testing. Thanks! i'd like to add something for FULL GUIDE: - missed arc moth grenades! From hunter's Mothkeeper' wraps. :) - comparison arc grenade with exotics for Arc subclass and Prismatic subclass (Inmost light + Verity bro). PS. My favorit build was titans armamentarium with 2 pulse nades and mods like kikcstart - fast energy return and champ melting. Good for demolitionist rockets!
You're very welcome! Once my subclass grenade damage testing videos are done, I was thinking about putting a video together about the grenade focused exotics. 👍👍
Absolutely! I had one ready to go for the end screen of the Void Grenade video as well...but I honestly forgot to put it in.😅 I did post it up on the channels community section though if you're looking for it. 👍👍
Skip grenade is kind of mixed bag because by default it really isn't a great grenade, but it's a good utility for applying jolt to multiple targets, or annoying targets that move fast like overloads. However when you give it the Shinobu's vow arms on the hunter, they become probably my favorite arc grenade. 2 charges, absolutely crazy tracking on them, and you get up to 50% of the energy back if all submunitions hit something, meaning you get 3 back to back grenades on a full charge. Honestly one of my favorite hunter builds by far.
That does make sense! As I'm sure you know, I'm not extremely well versed in the ways of the Hunter, but the grenade does have some nice benefits baked in with Shinobu's! 😁👍
Last time I checked that WAS what Shinobou's was like 2 nerfs ago. I do the math on it every time i try it out, the max energy you can get back on a grenade is 43% I do agree it is pretty great at jolting multiple targets, especially those teleporting overloads
Just a personal opinion as a hunter main, I don't like most of the arc grenades. I don't know why I don't like flashbang grenade, especially since in other games I absolutely love flash grenades. IDK maybe if it was shaped like a flashbang instead of a baseball I'd like it more. Skip grenades are pretty weak and Bungie just wouldn't stop nerfing them and Shinobou's vow, and now I just don't like them. Arcbolt is probably fine, but I just can't bring myself to like them ever since Bungie " *buffed* " lucky raspberry, and those are just inextricably linked for me. (it was 100% a huge nerf and you can't convince me otherwise) I don't think I've ever used lightning grenade without touch of thunder. maybe I would if the cooldown was a little faster. Flux Grenade takes *forever* and last time I checked it doesn't even 1 shot in pvp like its supposed to. Hunters could REALLY use an exotic revolving around flux. I liked flux way better when it was more like fusion and mag (in both tracking and cooldown) Pulse and Storm: 👍 still kinda liked old storm 'nade better, the inconsistency with a short cooldown, high potential dmg and lingering effect was peak for me.
For lightning nades, I find they shine best either in Raid DPS or PvP, where in both you can stick the two nades to the walls around the target & they tend to not move out of the way. (example, Templar/Warpriest/Tanniks/pimple oger from Kings Fall) Though if they do AoE damage frequently they tend to break your nades.
Great work!!! I hope in solar you look at TTI time to ignition where grenade animation aids or harms other forms of direct scorch... Essentially which grenades complement melee, rift, and Dragon’s Breath..
Thank you very much! I'll definitely try to provide a sense on how quickly the Scorch is being applied and at what point the Ignition occurs. Hopefully that will help out with your figuring. 👍👍
I'm 99% sure Bungie changes the Pulse Grenades Jolt because it would proc Jolt on the second hit and so it couldn't stun Overloads because they would teleport away. They moved it to the initial hit which is probably why you got that extra Jolt!
For some of these grenades I feel that rubbing my wool socks across the carpet is a better option. Here again we have several options for grenades but no real reason to use them other than style. Might as well keep using them as tasty shocktarts for a good Getaway Artist build.
YOU MISSED A GRENADE!! The Arc Moth grenade provided by Mothkeepers Wraps! I would love to see what kind of damage it does in comparison to the others!
I tend to steer clear of testing specific Exotics in this videos, but once I get caught up on all the subclasses, I'll probably start getting into some of the Exotic options. We can certainly have a look at it then! 😁👍
Hahaha. Indeed. It does seem to be a staple of many Warlock's Prismatic builds. After the subclass damage testing is done with, I think I'm going to make a video looking at all the "grenade focused" exotics. 👍👍

I'm really happy to hear that! I'll give testing other abilities some thought. I know there are a lot of Super damage test videos floating around, but melees could be rather interesting! 👍👍
I feel like skip grenade is suffering from the same thing chaos accelerant, T-crash, and a few other specific abilities are suffering from: the ability was the spawn of satin in pvp and/or pve for a while so since its highs were so high it took double and triple nerfs for it being good in certain combos so now the ability relies on kits being fully built around it to barely be worth using. That's without considering the general power creep of newer things getting things to make you want to use it over the old.
Unfortunately the Lightning Grenade does not stick to enemies, and I do not test exotics in these videos. I may release a video at a later date that solely focuses on the "grenade exotics". 👍👍
Unfortunately, only "directional" grenade that can pull that off is the Tripmine. The Lightning Grenade, and the Void Spike just bounce off the enemy and fall to the ground. 👍👍
Do you not see max damage from the mine-like grenades (Spike, Lightning, Tripmine) from just sticking them to the target directly? I can't speak on Lightning or Spike, but that's definitely how it works for Tripmine
