For me this is deep into the uncanny valley, because it's so good on the one side and creepy alltogether until one recognizes whats wrong: He has no shoulder blades and only a hint of a ribcage. He is almost purely muscle with only a minimum of bones.
the muscles need to show they are flexing...not just being stretched. For example the middle trapezius muscles should be contracting, but they're just folding
I mean, you may see this on Main Characters but I doubt you'll see it on NPC's until they automate the process of making the muscle. From my understanding you have to model and rig the muscles to train the model which would dramatically increase the time it takes to bring a single character to production.
@@wingman-1977 The GDC demo was running in real-time on PS5. The flesh deformation took 0.02ms on CPU & 0.29ms on GPU, lower costume was 0.05ms CPU & 0.49 GP, upper costume 0.08ms CPU & 1.1ms GPU I'd expect similar perf stats for XSX

Clavicle total width changes (shouldn't). Ribcage is squishy. Pretty good but still far off.
The more realism features Unreal releases, I feel it's gonna impact the GTA 6 release date due to Rockstar don't want to lose in realism catagory

Developers with access to PS5 or XSX devkits can build and deploy the demo to both of those targets

Мультик. У реальных людей мышцы под кожей сдвигаются и в том числе лицевые. Одежда над телом тоже сдвигается при движении.
Грудные мышцы какие-то нереальные, когда он поднимает руки вверх. Мышцы реального человека вытягиваются и меняют свою форму.
В новом Unity лицевые анимации выглядят более естественно (женщина с шахматами), анимация больше похожа на видео, чем в UE 5.2.
