I have 15 of them in my collection, 1/43 and 1/18 scale, and will continue to get more in the future.
I agree. They have a lot of detail surprisingly, especially for its price. Up close it looks decent. When you look at it from a distance it looks like a spark or minichamps model.
It’s pretty wild that I can find these Bburago models for ~$9usd at a Target or even some groceries here stateside. I’ve got a few on my desk at work and they’re a fun way to find other F1 fans.
You get a F1 model for a reasonable price. I think they're perfect for a beginner, they get to have the car they want for a fraction of the amount that it would take them to get a Spark or Minichamps. If they do start to like collecting these then maybe they can move to other brands without wasting a mini fortune in a hobby they night end up not liking that much.
Also worth noting that BBurago’s signature collection/premium models with the driver, acrylic case and with some, the GP itself (McLaren British GP ‘23, Red Bull Miami ‘23) they’re actually still extremely affordable and thus if you like the car but don’t have a specific affinity for the model/driver, you can just grab the BBurago to “fill” out your collection and buy Spark/Minichamps/Looksmart for the cars+drivers that are special to you (say, 2021 Lewis Hamilton British GP victory or Verstappen’s 2022 Championship car+paddock)
@@wixy500I also think if you sand the tyres on bburago models most people won’t be able to tell the difference between your sparks and your bburagos in your displays, it’d take another collector to know tbh. They ain’t that terrible and for people who are on tighter budgets they’re fantastic
I'm from indonesia and I bought my standard model sf23 for 150.000 IDR (about 14 AUD), premium MCL3 for about 300.000 IDR (about 28 AUD) and the additional version of the 2022 ferrari you mentioned for about 250.000 IDR (about 23.5 AUD), so over here they're mad worth if you're already in the market for models
Good thoughts on this. Personally, I would consider a Bburago (the version with driver model) if I saw it cheap and it was not a team I was overly bothered about, so picked up the Ferrari in Bburago. Teams I mostly care about are McLaren and Racing point (only have a limited modern F1 collection) so I'd grab those in Spark but consider others in Bburago if the right deal came up. The Leclerc F1-75 I grabbed was about £16. It's entirely possible to make some small upgrades on the models as well, like sanding the tyres a little to remove the line, or mocking up aerials etc... The statement around them looking fine on the shelf is exactly that - you can tell they fall short up close but from any sort of distance, you'd barely notice.
I started collecting them recently at Target For just $8 per car for the cardboard versions. I got a Carlos Sainz Ferrari an a Checo Perez Red Bull. Walmart is selling the acrylic case versions for $10 The quality is very good for what is paid for.
Depending on the market, they have other variations of these; here in the US, Walmart sells the acrylic box/plinth version without a driver for $10, and Target sells the basic window box with a driver for $8. I think they're a steal at those prices, especially the Target versions. Only seen Merc/Red Bull/Ferrari at Target, but Walmart had McLarens with the last wave so I'm hoping the others will pop up.
That's insane value! In Australia, Big W (it's like Target) has them on their website, but I've never seen them in store, and the price is nothing like what you've found.
I prefer bburago models because they’re really good models for their cost. I personally dont feel like shelling out more money for extra detailing as bburago does quite a nice job all around. They’re perfect for someone who wants to collect f1 cars as they’re not too costly and usually quite accessible.
When I think of Bburago I think back to the 1/18 stuff they released in the 80's and early 90's which were decent along with Maisto but couldn't hold a candle to the stuff that came later by Minichamps and AUTOart. The last one I bought is one I sold but probably should have kept which was a 1/18 2005 VW Touareg Dakar racer.
On the ones where the front axel really stands out I use a black sharpie and essentially colour them in which makes them blend in way more than the silver
I haven't had many model cars for a long time, mostly because I have no good space to store them so that they are visible. But a year or so ago I got a Yamaha MotoGP model from Bburago and although up close it can look a bit toy-ish from 60-70cm distance where it is placed on my work desk it looks amazing, almost as if I took it out of a photo. And it was I think 13-14€ to buy. Amazing deal for money
Im usually a snob when it comes to collecting these going to Looksmart or BBR, but I gotta say Bburago is doing a great job on these cars for the price. So nice in fact I ordered the new 2024 Leclerc ferrari! Not ashamed to have it in my collection.
If it's good it's good, man... I never understood this sort of "brand discrimination", which I didn't even know was a thing in this scale-model realm (although, I'm not surprised, cause it happens everywhere). But I get it comes from a certain reputation and then it becomes a blanket-statement/understanding of "this brand good/bad because such and such". - I happen to have a Burago-model right behind me, which I pulled from storage recently from like childhood/teenage stuff I saved, and while it's a larger 18th scale model (nor a Formula 1 car), it looks great, and it's probably from like 20-25 years ago. - Personally, while I was somewhat interested in collecting some die-cast models, particularly based on pop-culture (so like cars from movies and TV), they were either too mediocre-looking or too expensive, or even both, as sometimes just OK-looking 24th-scale models can be quite pricey for what they are. So I turned to the "Fine, I'll do it myself!" approach and got into model-building. Yes, that means they will be made of plastic and you need to put in many hours of work. But if you do it right, the result will be better and it can cost less in a way, ignoring the hours (but I'm a creative, so I'm happy doing that). You can have kits for like 25-35 USD and while you need tools and stuff, you spread the cost over multiple models, it's not that bad for getting better results. - Again, it just costs time and effort in addition to the base price. - That said, those Burago 43th-scale models actually look really good, so there's no need in the case of those. I mean, I don't think I could improve on those doing it myself, other than building it larger in like 24th or 25th scale which it tends to be. Also, to answer the question about customizing existing models: I'm all about that. Cause another thing I'd probably do, if I'd make one myself, is probably leave OFF decals, particularly of sponsorships. I know that's just how it is on the real cars and it's "true to life" and in some ways also makes them "iconic", but for most of what's on vehicles in sports, I'm just not a fan and feel they detract from the look of a vehicle. - So yea, I don't care about accuracy or "originality" (in the sense of how they came originally) and more about how something looks creatively (so "originality" in that sense) and I'd rather create something unique that's merely inspired by something that already exists.
Oh yeah, building your own from a kit is far more satisfying and gives more flexibility over how you want the model to be presented. I've got a few of my builds on the channel, but I only do race cars with all their signage, nothing "creative" like you mention. Cheers
ive actually started buying burago 1:43 F1 models as well recently. the quality is okay, and the price seems good for what you get. i had made the same mistake of not looking properly at the numbers on the cars and went home with SP instead of MV's RB, because i saw the picture first. luckily i managed to exchange it the next day. overall they arent that bad
My son became a big fan of Formula 1 recently. So right now, I am all over Aliexpress (available in Slovakia) and buying the Bburago F1 models. The cheapest I got one was for just over 7 EUR, so the prices are great. And for my son to play with them and occasionally destroy one or the other, that's the best value. The only downside is, only 6 teams are available (Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, Red Bull, Sauber, Alpine). However, it seems Bburago is adding Aston Martin this summer, very excited about that! No way would I buy such a small 1:43 model for over 50 EUR, even if it was more detail. No one sees the difference when it's sitting at the shelf. I hope they will add Williams, V-carb and Haas over time, let's see..
If you're buying many, then Bburago because.. cost. If you're playing rather than displaying, Bburago On the other hand, I have 3x 1:18s (Senna, Schumacher, Verstappen) and buying the most detailed version is worthwhile, they're beautiful
I bought an RB19 1:24 Bburago a couple days ago, and I’m actually really impressed in our it turned out. Sure it’s big but it’s really really accurately made and I don’t think any other brand could have made it any better
Me honestly, I would prefer the premium version of the 1:43 scale F1 cars. Not only is their packaging have better appearance, but are also quite practical.
I was pleasantly surprised by how far Bburago have come. I decided to do a wall mount (plan view in cabinet) of the 2023 cars including both Merc and Aston safety and medical cars. I didn't want to spend a fortune by using Spark/Looksmart or Minichamp so had a punt at Bburagos collection. As you mention, they dont do all the teams (Alpha Tauri; Minichamps/Spark, Haas Minichamps and Williams; Minichamps). Where and how they are displayed, you can barely tell the difference between the Bburagos and the Minichamps. Oh and the idea of keeping the cost down went out the window as I decided to get all the drivers helmets in Sparks 1/5 scale to mount next to each car. But frustratingly, Schuberth helmets are 1/4 and arent made by Spark; Perez, Verstappen and Hulkenberg.
burago has grown on me i buy all the premiums i got all available and i swap out the cars on my display based off the podiums of the races, but spark is still my premium go to i have both suzuka exclusives from 23 and 24 japan gp def expensive but so worth it
What a great video. These are definitely worth the asking price (without markup) and it makes it possible to get a fairly decent collection without being very expensive. It will always depend on what your expectations are.
If anyone has a Costco nearby, they have a box set of 6 differents F1 Bburago's cars from the same team. The obvious Ferrari set but you can get a Mclaren, Mercedes and Red Bull. The box set is sold in Canada for get this 39.99 $CAN ( 6.67$ each ).... That deal is on now Sept-October 2024 and some may ran them until early december
I'm collecting a lot of 1:64 models and Spark made a lot of formula 1 cars in this scale for a very nice price but I don't know if they are any good because their GT3 cars are sometimes very weak in the 1:64 scale
I just wish they could make one of every team, like I’m an AM fan and every time I go to the store and look I always see the same 3 old teams: RB Ferrari and Mercedes
Price/quality Bburago and Solido are great in my opinion and 90% of the time there's no reason to buy a Spark or a Minichamps not that much of difference
I believe they were quite decent back in the 80's and 90's, I don't think there were many better options in that price range. About the F1 cars they deliver these days, and in all the scales, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43 (I mostly own 1:24 F1 cars produced by Ixo, Bburago and others), yes, Bburago have massively improved, but I believe indeed that they were helped by the shapes of current-days F1 cars. This is clear if we take a look at the suspensions, at the wheelcovers, at the front wings and nosecones. It feels much more natural with the cars from 2022 onwards, whereas with previous models Bburago had some troublesome features, as the highly inaccurate front wings, the uncovered wheels and the gaps between the chassis and the ground.
Im a massive fan of f1 but i make minimum wage and Bburago are perfect to show off. They have the important details I want and they look good on display.
just a quick note, the difference between the normal and premium versions of bburago f1 models are that the normal versionss have a bulky suspension as it is basically a toy version but the premium version has a realistic suspension
Not USD. I'm in Australia, so prices are AUD. It works out about $35US for the premium? Which still means I paid significantly more than what you and many others have! Now I'm feeling ripped off lol
I mainly collect Ferrari F1 models. At least one model per year, but mostly several per year (e.g. Monza special, Monaco win, Bearman debut, Miami blue livery). I have almost all years from 1950 till now. But…. I like them top notch quality… so mainly BBR, some Looksmart, Tameo, Tron, Meri, MG model plus etc… and yes… that is quite expensive, but a hobby may cost something
I'm in Australia too. Hard to find physical stores that stock Spark, though I have seen the odd model at Games World. Australian importer/distributor is Downies, who also do online sales - www.downies.com/collections/model-cars
I must check out the 1/24 Burago F1 models to see if they are much better than they used to be. I wouldn't mind getting Carlos Ferrari Oscars McLaren and Max's Red Bull for display. All my existing car models are 1/24 so I'd like to stick to that scale.
Yes, they are much better than they used to be. A collection that's all in the same scale looks awesome :) For 1/24 F1, there's also a range of kits that covers a wider range of cars than the Bburago diecasts, but you'd have to build them.
IM an aussie too i dont waste my time with little toy cars no matter what brand they are, 1/18 is my scale, thats i a proper model scale, engine detail, opening parts, and it looks beautiful displayed , these little models to me are toys.
I feel bburagos are good for kids or people who dont want to spend a lot of money. If i was to get a spark or minichamps it would be of a driver that you love
It’s the thick chunky parts on the 1/43 I don’t like (the suspension parts were a good example), though I think their 1/18 models are far better on that front.
I think people choose bburago when they want to play around with them. But when you buy the expensive "toys" you just want them to stay there on the shelf for show... both uses are just fine. I personally prefer to play with lego instead of the metal bburago. I like autoart for these f1 cars.
is it worth me spending a extra £10 just to get the driver in the car or should i just continue to collect the ones without the driver in the car as i already own 4 from the 2023 season?
what about the scale? i have 2022 McLaren from bburago and i can't compare it with this gen cars from other companies, but it feels very oversized in compare with 2019-21 gen cars from others and with older age cars.
I haven't measured these models to calculate how close to scale, but keep in mind this current generation of Formula One has the largest cars in history, so they will always be bigger than previous years.
@@wixy500 i got Lando Norris. I also compared the car with 1994 Williams Renault. 2023 McLaren is bigger than 1994 Williams Renault. You should make comparison video between current F1 car with 90’s F1 cars if you have one.
how come every McLaren model I see doesn't have Velo markings? may it be the 2024 McLaren speed champions Lego or a Burago model. Is it a licensing issue or what?
Spark and Minichamps are so much better. If one began to pay close attention to the Burago models one will see lots of little mistakes and inacuracies.
I've always considered burago a toy company like maisto and majorette so when i see the logo on a model it kind of ruins it for me. Spark and minichamps is like they took the actual car and shrunk it

I personally couldn't care less. I'm not a collector and just need to fill some empty space on my shelf. Burago will do just fine.
What a great video. These are definitely worth the asking price (without markup) and it makes it possible to get a fairly decent collection without being very expensive. It will always depend on what your expectations are.
Couldn't agree more
Me and my friend takes 1 of these to school and then when it’s recess we go to a downward steep and race them
Haha, cool! Add some weight to yours, it will go faster ;)
@@wixy500 ok i will next time we do it
Excellent scale f1 for the budget price
If anyone has a Costco nearby, they have a box set of 6 differents F1 Bburago's cars from the same team. The obvious Ferrari set but you can get a Mclaren, Mercedes and Red Bull. The box set is sold in Canada for get this 39.99 $CAN ( 6.67$ each ).... That deal is on now Sept-October 2024 and some may ran them until early december
That's amazing value! Some of the earlier Bburago models in those sets are not as good as the later releases, but still, hard to beat.
About the metal painting on the exhaust, yeah it does add a ton more, I've done it in all my cars and it's quite noticeable. Great vid!
I'm also waiting for the Aston Martin - hopefully not too long now!
In italy they are about 10/13 euros normal and 25ish euros premium, such a difference!
I own two F1 2011 cars, Sebastian Vettal's red bull and Lewis Hamilton's Silver McLaren, sadly his strap didn't travel well, it is also made by burgo
Paid 40$ CAD for a 6 pcs box set of RB burago at Costco, might not be the best in regards to details but for the price I cannot argue!
I've been able to find the basic box releases at Target for $8!
They're my first F1 cars so I don't know any better.
Yep, a great alternative if the expensive brands are out of reach.
just a quick note, the difference between the normal and premium versions of bburago f1 models are that the normal versionss have a bulky suspension as it is basically a toy version but the premium version has a realistic suspension
On which cars is that the case? The Bburago Standard and Premiums I have, the models are identical except for the driver figure.
@@wixy500 it’s on the cars which have a proper display
Correct @@wixy500
Maybe you are thinking of the 1/24 scale versions which carry more detail. This video is about 1/43 scale.
more detailing for spark, good finishing for burago
Yes, the detail on Spark is usually pretty awesome.
Those look quite nice!!
At target in Wisconsin they have the cardboard no display with the driver for $10
such good value!
@@wixy500 right! I’ve only got three but they just dropped the Alpine and McLaren and I’m waiting for Ferrari they also have Mercedes and Red Bull
Finally someone had said what i ve been saying for the last two years
Here in south Florida target as some of these for $8
awesome value
55 usd for the premium box? TBH it only costs 100rmb (15usd approx) in my country 😂
Not USD. I'm in Australia, so prices are AUD. It works out about $35US for the premium? Which still means I paid significantly more than what you and many others have! Now I'm feeling ripped off lol
@@wixy500 ok interesting
I mainly collect Ferrari F1 models. At least one model per year, but mostly several per year (e.g. Monza special, Monaco win, Bearman debut, Miami blue livery). I have almost all years from 1950 till now.
But…. I like them top notch quality… so mainly BBR, some Looksmart, Tameo, Tron, Meri, MG model plus etc… and yes… that is quite expensive, but a hobby may cost something
Some excellent brands there! I've seen some factory-built BBRs over the years, they always look brilliant.
New to the hobby, where’s the best place to buy Spark model F1 cars?
I’m in Australia and we don’t have a local supplier.
I'm in Australia too. Hard to find physical stores that stock Spark, though I have seen the odd model at Games World. Australian importer/distributor is Downies, who also do online sales - www.downies.com/collections/model-cars
i have 5 of these very nice
why i cant find haas, williams, racing bulls and aston martin bburago's cars?
Bburago does not have a licence for Haas, Williams or RB. Not sure why Aston Martin is not yet available as it is in the 2024 Bburago catalogue.
The pre-sale of the Aston Martin is already out on Aliexpress, it will be out in August, there are even photos of the car 1:43
When they do a Tyrrell 006 I'll buy one, not until.
Haha, fair enough. It would be cool to have some classic F1s by Bburago, but I doubt that will happen.
If modifications make the owner happy then definitely and rock on!!!
I don’t like cast lines on tyres, I had to make a dremel jig to profile the tires.
Fiddly work, but it does improve the look :)
Bburago F1 models are amazing and quite affordable too .. Much more attractive than the stupidly high priced Spark or Minichamps ones
one thing bothers me - what kind of person would want to have an Alpine model... regardless of the price
Hahaha. Savage :p
yeah
I must check out the 1/24 Burago F1 models to see if they are much better than they used to be.
I wouldn't mind getting Carlos Ferrari Oscars McLaren and Max's Red Bull for display.
All my existing car models are 1/24 so I'd like to stick to that scale.
Yes, they are much better than they used to be. A collection that's all in the same scale looks awesome :) For 1/24 F1, there's also a range of kits that covers a wider range of cars than the Bburago diecasts, but you'd have to build them.
@@wixy500 Most of mine are built from plastic kits anyway. I'll be heading to my local model store to check those Buragos out though tomorrow.
IM an aussie too i dont waste my time with little toy cars no matter what brand they are, 1/18
is my scale, thats i a proper model scale, engine detail, opening parts, and it looks beautiful displayed , these little models to me are toys.
Have you seen some of the 1/12 scale stuff? Even more detail :) (but bloody expensive!)
I own a #16 SF23 ferrari with the signature box and they are accurate to the real thing
Hard to complain about quality when you're paying relative pennies for then
Is that a real carbon fibre under the rb11
No, just the effect of the finish of the plastic base/floor plate. It does looks pretty cool tho!
@@wixy500 ikr
Here in America the RB19 Bburago was 10 dollars
Excellent value
I have only managed to find the sf23 and the w13 models where did you dind yours?
I got these from Games World, a games/hobby retailer in Australia. I'm yet to find the Aston Martin.
@@wixy500 well thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it's a few countries out of reach for me.
how much do they normally cost
The price I paid is in the video...
Had to pay 5 times the price of a 2017 Bburago, but I have to say the quality is way better even if it's still not worth so much.
Totally up to you, depends on if you value the driver figure and/or display base. My F1 collection has a mix of with and without drivers.
Goddamn saw these at a local shop yesterday selling for $10
One is a dust catcher
The other is to be "wrom wrom'd" with
hahaha
Not sure why I cannot order from the site
What site?
Are they 1:64th scale?
Did you not watch the video? lol. No, they are 1:43
If they made suspension parts out of metal,it would be neat.
I have two of them (Lando And Charles)🎉
what about the scale? i have 2022 McLaren from bburago and i can't compare it with this gen cars from other companies, but it feels very oversized in compare with 2019-21 gen cars from others and with older age cars.
I haven't measured these models to calculate how close to scale, but keep in mind this current generation of Formula One has the largest cars in history, so they will always be bigger than previous years.
thats insane… here in the us the “base” versions are only 8-10$
That's such good value! Subsequent to this video, some of the base versions are now available here in Oz for $19 AUS
My rb18 had like a quality issue that halo sponsors fell off with touch
that sucks :(
Music?
A Flute's Mourning - Aakash Gandhi (from the UA-cam audio library)
I finally found McLaren MCL60 2 days ago
Cool. Lando or Oscar? It's a pity it does not include all the sponsor logos
@@wixy500 i got Lando Norris. I also compared the car with 1994 Williams Renault. 2023 McLaren is bigger than 1994 Williams Renault. You should make comparison video between current F1 car with 90’s F1 cars if you have one.
good idea, I should do that one day. I have models going back to the 1950s and 60s. The cars in the 60s were tiny.
@@wixy500 i wonder if i could send you a picture that i got 1993 Aryton Senna’s McLaren-Ford Formula 1
How can Ibuy one of this ferrari in website Icant find order
You won't find it on my website because I am not a model retailer. Do a Google search, or just jump on ebay, these are readily available.
If you bought it: it's yours to modify/improve at will
My main goal is to get the oracle f1 car
how come every McLaren model I see doesn't have Velo markings? may it be the 2024 McLaren speed champions Lego or a Burago model. Is it a licensing issue or what?
Velo is a nicotine product. I'm guessing the toy companies want nothing to do with that.
Spark and Minichamps are so much better. If one began to pay close attention to the Burago models one will see lots of little mistakes and inacuracies.
Exactly. That's what the video was pointing out - you get what you pay for in most cases.
@@wixy500 Yes. You are right, but if you compare them with Ixo Models the last ones are much better and more or less the same price than Burago.
Try Mini GT
Mini GT do some awesome little models! I don't collect 1:64, but from what I've seen their F1s are quite good quality, just so much smaller.
@@wixy500 They did well for 64 scale.. Burago was 32
bburago is adequate I think.. no need to spend so much for just tiny differences..
mclaren's front wing on bburago looks really cheap
Yes - because it is really cheap lol. But I see what you mean, the other Bburago front wings look better than the McLaren's.
Tener yo de Verstappen y de Gasly
Maybe you knew it but you could have recognized the Mercedes car just by looking at the t cam 😅
True, or even just looking at the race number! I clearly was not paying attention lol
I've always considered burago a toy company like maisto and majorette so when i see the logo on a model it kind of ruins it for me. Spark and minichamps is like they took the actual car and shrunk it
Yes, Bburagos are still a way off the quality of those two
For me I always thought burago was the best
It’s Bburago
Yes 😁
How much
The price I paid is in the video. How much you pay depends on what country you're in and who/where you buy from.
