    what size tank? I have 2 octo pulse 4's on my 6' 125 and they're way too strong. blows the coral to bits on only 4 out of 10 setting. I'm using only one octo pulse 4 now, just one on one end.

    How are the pumps perfoming? Seriously considering buying one.

    Would be awesome if you did a review with them hooked up to the Hydros.😉 Im actually leaning toward either 4 octopulse 4’s or 2 octopulse 4’s and 2 octopulse 2’s. I’m thinking four of the 4’s might be too much for a 210. Was going to run the wave engine also.

    • @angryowlaquariums40
      @angryowlaquariums40  4 роки тому +1

      I actually just installed the hydros Sunday. So far I really like it but setting up is a huge learning curve and slightly misleading. Essentially you run the pumps at 50% power (in terms of watts, max 32 watts for these pumps) you need to set the max speed to 75%. There are some other finicky aspects but I can make a video for sure! Also, my tank is a 230 so I don't think its too much for a 210 but you can always start with 2 and get more! 🦉🍻

      @JCTReefer 4 роки тому

      Yeah, I’ve been watching every coralvue video I could find on UA-cam about the wave engine. Setting presets, triggers, modes, blah blah blah. Seems a little tricky how the app works. I’m sure it would take some tinkering to get everything figured out. I guess I’ll find out! The ability to eliminate power bars and controllers is a huge plus!! It’ll be a while before the 210 is set up, so I’d be super curious about your review on the hydros!😃

      Yes sir, still running and still as the day I installed them... and that's impressive to me because I go months between maintenance. I would recommend them, especially when paired with the hydros wave engine 👍🦉🍻

    I never understood the appeal of ecotech pumps. You can't point them, they're expensive, and I've heard of the magnets leaching metals into the water. These pumps look pretty good! 👍

    • @angryowlaquariums40
      @angryowlaquariums40  4 роки тому +1

      The shafts also rust over time. The positive of the mp40 was not having the heat of the pump inside the tank. Which for most people isn't an issue because their tanks run cooler 🤷‍♂️🦉🍻

    • @Algaewarrior
      @Algaewarrior 4 роки тому +1

      @@angryowlaquariums40 yeah, I feel like if the pumps give off heat that takes some of the load off of the heater which is bound to fail eventually. Maybe if you were running a deep water system or jellyfish.

      Angry Owl Aquariums ha!! Was gonna ask you how you’re still feeling about that pump. How about the performance? Yeah yeah.. the cord complaints are old news. I still prefer gyres over earmuffs.

    • @angryowlaquariums40
      @angryowlaquariums40  4 роки тому +1

      I love them, I added the hydros wave engine and got rid of all the cords and controllers so thats a plus. Also there isn't as much performance reduction in a dirty vs clean pump. For instance I haven't cleaned the pumps in 3 month's or so.. I cleaned 1 as a test because the hydros measures rpm and there is only a 100 rpm difference which does not seem significant to me 🤷‍♂️

    • @tylerclontz
      @tylerclontz 4 роки тому +1

      Angry Owl Aquariums right on. That’s good data. Have you seen OCTOs BS video that shows and says to only clean if with freshwater. I was like bruh.. in three months it’s gonna be covered in coraline and turds. No way freshwater is getting it clean. Lol
