There were simply too many great sopranos in the 1970s and 80s overshadowed by Caballé and others pushed by the record industry. Strow Piccolo was insanely good. She deserves more fame.
This opera is not unknown: like Iris, it's never been out of the repertoire in Italy, there are several complete recordings available, and it's been performed outside of Italy several times in the last 30 years: Ireland, New York, Holland and other venues.
