- On our recent tour to Poland we were fortunate to have the opportunity to play the wonderful 2018 Zych Pipe Organ of the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy (Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia) in Łagiewniki, Krakow.
We hope you enjoy Jonathan's solo organ arrangement of Pietro Mascagni's Intermezzo Sinfonico from his opera "Cavalleria Rusticana" on this fantastic pipe organ in this very special place.

What a magnificent rendering - except for the cough or sneeze near the end. Phenomenally beautiful church with a magnificent instrument at the hands of a master.
This gentle piece of music is what we need these days. Too much negativity being smeared all over the news.
This organ is such a piece of art. I almost find it a waste that it wasn't setup in a concert like manner. I mean look at how beautiful it looks in the footage where he is sitting there playing with the whole background of the whole room. It looks absolutely stunning visually.
I won't lie to you, I'm a 48yo bloke and I'm in floods of tears! Stunningly beautiful!

Everything was in smooth harmony, the church, the organ, the music, the images. Jonathan played with great serenity and emotion. And Tom managed to put it all together in one video. A pearl that delights eyes and ears. 👏❤️🎶🙏👍🙌

Saw the opera some years ago. Certainly appreciated this piece. But never so much as when I heard it in "Godfather III". Brought the story full circle--could not have been more appropriate. Jonathan Scott's production is beyond compare!!!

This piece of music has always had a special meaning to me and my family. How appropriate it sounds in a church setting! To me, the composition has always sounded like a prayer.
I understand your feelings, this music is too much special, it makes yourself a believer in a selected heaven, something like a stargate to an endless beauty world.

I had the great privilege to be asked to play Cavalleria - on a much smaller, simpler church pipe organ - at the funeral of a gentleman who, whilst a bass guitarist in a pub band, adored classical pipe organ music. It was a regular event for his neighbours to complain about how loud he played Widor's Toccata - on a Sunday morning!

That organ looks like it has a lot of room for expansion.
Take a look at its specs on the makers website - its huge already - really does not need extra
@@epincion It is a marvellous organ and the acoustics of the church are very good so I really enjoyed listening to this piece. My comment about room for expansion is based on the arrangement of the stop knobs. I can see that there is room for additional stops on the console for each division. In my youth, about 35 years ago, I worked for an organ tuner and on one call, he remarked about the organ that a planned division and stops in other divisions had never been installed. He pointed to the space that had been left in each division; it looked like this organ.
It is also possible that given the width of the console that the builder just arranged the stop pulls closer to the centre and no additional stops are planned.

I got stuck in my job 1,5 hour from Krakow last friday, arround 7 pm, and it was no chance to get on time. Really hope you'll be back in south of the Poland soon, because people say, that the performance was unbelievable. And I really belive what they say.

While I love the look of more traditional pipe work and consoles I have to say I find the look of this organ and venue marvellous. Also loved the slower tempo of this piece - have heard many renditions over the years, most wonderful in their own right. Therein lies the beauty of music, so many variables to enjoy.
