You look fantastic! I turned 40 this year and as I don’t feel that’s old by any means, I still don’t feel 40. I feel 20 mentally. I exercise and eat healthy as well as fast on a daily basis. I completely agree with the fact that what you eat is what will show on the outside besides exercise. I believe in leafy greens, healthy fats, fish, nuts, berries and Greek yogurt. Combined with fasting and a low carb regimen I have been able to go from a size 12 to a size 2 in 3 years. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to lose weight and get healthy! I feel the best that I ever have in years!

I am just 70 and got to my best weight in years just before my birthday. Very close to my weight range in my twenties. I am also fitter than I have ever been. I lift weights twice a week and run three times a week. Running has made the most difference to everything. It really does keep the weight down without you having to eat like a sparrow. I walk a lot as well. Exercise is key or you will be on 1300 calories a day and losing muscle and bone to keep the fat off. I track my calories and macros and try to get in around 90g of protein a day and stay the right side of my predicted calorie burn. I do that eating rice potatoes and bread and pasta and fruit. You don’t have to go low carb to be slim. Carbs are your fuel for running and all round energy.
I do just estrogen. My body hates progesterone. You have to find your unique balance. I also take a NAD booster. No idea if it helps but the science suggests it might. HRT is essential. I saw what my mother went through after she turned 53 and no way I was doing that.

Hi Heather, thank you for sharing your experience with bioidentical hormones. I am 53 and for 7 years I have been treated with the Rimkus method. This also consists of bioidentical hormones with progesterone and estrodial. The dosage is done after a blood evaluation every 3 or 6 months through my gynecologist. I swear by it and can only recommend it to every woman.

This information is golden for women just starting out and for those trying to sort out current problems. You live in a terrific area with good doctors (which, granted you had to find), but not all women have access to good medical help or good information. I am 55, live in rural Ohio, and like you, tried all 3 at once + thyroid mediation and let me tell you, that was one of the worst mistakes of my menopausal journey. I loved it at first, because the combo of meds delivered immediate results. I had every menopausal symptom in the book: insomnia, weight gain, dry skin, foggy thinking, low libido... After starting pellets, in less than 2 weeks I was sleeping like a baby. But after 6 months or so, I began to develop problems like: male patterned baldness, dark hair growing on my face, oily hair and skin, irritability, high anxiety, a deeper voice, plus stomach and intestinal issues. Most of which were due to high testosterone levels, and poorly monitored and poorly balanced hormone levels (even though they were drawing blood every 3 months). Maybe tmi, but my orgasms were through the roof (which was a definite improvement) but my female parts were often engorged and uncomfortable.
According to what I was told, (aside from continuous blood tests which is out of many people's price range) the medical field has no way of monitoring how much pellet medication our bodies absorb at any given time. We could receive all of it at once or slowly over time.
After nearly 2 years on HRT, I developed Barrett's esophagus and mild thrush, mainly because the thyroid medication was getting stuck in my throat and dissolving there (even though I drank plenty of water).
It has taken me nearly a year to find a decent doctor whom has helped me to get back on track. I'm sharing this information to help other women. Maybe their experience won't be as bad, but it may be good for someone to know that this could absolutely happen to them. As mentioned, I loved receiving pellets at first because I received near immediate relief from all symptoms, including insomnia. When medication (or anything for that matter) offers us immediate relieve from suffering, it can be very hard to give up, but we absolutely must in order to solve potentially harmful issues.! I love your advise about taking it slow by introducing one med at a time! Journaling is also great. I did this and it helped tremendously. Again awesome video. Very well done. You should be proud. I'm so glad you shared this with your audience!

Thanks for sharing Heather. I am 56 this year and have not had negative menopause symptoms and I began at age 50. However your video encouraged me to think about getting my blood examined -just because I do not have issues with menopause doesn't mean everything is ok. Also thanks for sharing the at home work out videos. My husband has Alzheimer’s and us progressing so I work out at home as well as go on walks with him. I agree with you it is mostly what we put in our bodies as well as our thoughts of staying positive . Ive never been drawn to alcohol ( Im not judging anyone) I do not drink at all so I think big reason I remain very lean. You have encouraged me to seek a good doctor, as a spouse caring for the love of my life, I have a tendency to forgot about me. So thanks for this video.

Bio-identical hormone therapy was a life saver for me! It started for me in peri menopause, when I wasn’t sleeping and I was on a hormone mood rollercoaster. It was horrible. My doctor started me on progesterone and testosterone. I added estrogen at 49 when my levels dropped. Life changing. I can’t believe how many women can’t get menopause care in this country though. Doctors giving out misinformation and denying women care based on 20-year old studies that have been proven to be false. Women need to get educated on this topic. Thanks for sharing.

I eat pretty healthy like you and also have a sweet tooth that I manage pretty well but I love to bake!🥴 and of course I gotta try it 😆. I’m 5.6 and weigh 120 and have since high school it’s just because of my life long habits just as you said. Your body is amazing and it’s obvious you are very disciplined! I make these little treats that satisfy and are pretty healthy for a sweet treat, I chop up organic dates and layer in a paper muffin cup, then drizzle melted 72% dark chocolate on top then a layer chopped nuts, then another drizzle of the chocolate, put them in the fridge and that’s my dessert, only 1 though! Can’t wait to watch more of your videos🥰

I’m 56 and have been on bio-identical hormones of some kind for about 15 years. I feel for women who suffer through menopause with nothing. My doc checks my bloodwork every 6 months too. It’s a balancing act but it’s worth it. I’m also a yoga teacher. And you’re right … it’s more about what you put in your mouth than exercise in regards to maintaining a healthy weight.
As I’ve gotten older, it’s gotten more challenging. Especially with menopause.
I exercise 6-7 days a week (jog, walk, yoga, Pilates, weight training), follow a low carb diet and practice time restricted feeding to help keep my figure.

Great video! I am 64 & have done 'biote' pellets for many years. The Testosterone might have been too high for u hence your hair falling out. They wear off after about 3 months....then u go back for reinsertion. Also when your breasts get sore that means too much estrogen--it takes awhile to get the levels just right, but when u finally do pellets r a life saver. Hope that helps!!

Hot flashes and anxiety were the first to go (thank goodness), but I ended up changing from my doc of 17 years who I really liked, to another gynecologist whose background seemed a better fit for me. One tweek she made, and I have felt wonderful for a solid year! There are so many options to find a balance. When sleep is a problem I take a low dose of melatonin and magnesium for a few nights, or until my stress is manageable, then I just take magnesium for a calm peaceful night.

Heather, love your vibe. Totally agree that diet is the most important component of a wellness regimen. And you know what the best macro nutrient is for taking care of the face? Protein. It helps the fat cells regenerate. We lose fat cells not so much because we age, but because the regenerative rate doesn't keep up with loss. To show that this loss is more a function of fitness, rather than age, take a look at Harry Styles. His mouth is very depleted and he's in his 20's.

You look amazing for your age! I had been on medical grade bio identical hormones for many years; as a cancer survivor it was recommended that I stay away from synthetics because they cause cancer. I was about 26 when diagnosed with ovarian cancer with a very poor prognosis of 5 years. I am now 58...I believe I am alive because I had refused a 2nd round of chemotherapy and refused synthetic hormones. I went on bio identical hormones and had my body tested for imbalances of vitamins and minerals so I could get it balanced after the 1st round of chemo depleted my levels. Chemo works for other people, but was not going to work for my cancer. Some of my doctors were on the cutting edge at the time and were not afraid to go mix non traditional with traditional medicine. In later years, my doctor had me use Estriol at night, which helped me rest with the bio identical hormones. Total life saver! Yes, it is very customized. I need to go back to the doctor to get reestablished with it. My current insurance isn't as flexible or knowledgeable...they just want to prescribe synthetics. I'm likely gonna have to pay out of pocket....not cheap.

Hello! I just came across your video and immediately subscribed. Am I the only one whose doctor said I have to stop menses for a whole year before I can go on hormones? Is perimenopause something we just have to suffer through? I'm going to be 48 in 3 months. My hair has been falling out in clumps for well over 2 years, I can't sleep and I'm exhausted, last month I had a period for almost the entire month and there have been times I had to wait a couple months for one. I started menses at 10 and it was so irregular and heavy I was put on birth control because it wouldn't straighten up. I was off and on it for a while and when I was off and decided to not go back on about 10 years ago or so I was surprised to find I was on a regular schedule finally and they were not terribly heavy or painful. Now it's all over the place. Those are just some of the symptoms I've been dealing with increasing since my late 30s so I think regulating my hormones would really help but they tell me I have to wait until I'm no longer in perimenopause and period free for a year and in actual menopause. Am I just seeing the wrong doctors here? Is anyone in a similar situation actually on HRT? An older friend on the other side of the country says this is ridiculous but I don't know.
Thank you for crossing into a subject that not many dare to go into yet for some reason. Maybe it's because we are all suppose to pretend we are perpetually 20 years old, but I mean, this is 2022. My Mom's gone so I can't ask how this went for her but my Dad thinks she was on hormones but doesn't know when she started them. She died young. I know you're basically about my age. Thank you!
