I appreciate Kristen’s realistic take on being a complicit participant in intertwining commercialism. If you’re a walking billboard, you gotta be willing to give the brands their due. After all, someone involved in those aspects considers themselves artists too. It can’t be disconnected from attention and selling. At least she’s honest about it. You gotta dance with the one who brung you!! Artists each have patronage because art doesn’t happen without monetary backing making it possible.
It’s also perfectly within one’s prerogative to claim one’s own dignity and sense of decency by deciding for themselves where personal business divides from public accessibility... i.e., are you wearing any underwear. As long as you’re true to your own sensibilities, and aren’t deceiving yourself with blatant duplicity.

I love Kristen... but I was not loving her in this series. As a cis-het, stunning woman, she doesn't fully have the perspective of what it's like to be a 'rejected woman' in society.

True, I was thinking that, and it ended on a beauty tip, which are not wrong, but it ended up being the point of it all, that it's still nice to look pretty, only that you're honest about how. But to me it still prepetuates it, like she said, but it was not the point of her comment. It was more like "yes, we're culpable, BUT..."

I think she was coming at it from a different angle. One of mental health. When she said that those outside pressures aren’t going to stop so your world of sanity has to sometimes be as small and as expansive as your own internal monologue.

"Cis het" go away! You're judging her because of who she is.
