    I need to change mine too. Thanks for this.
    On a separate subject, if you have a G90 and X6100, make sure you label the mics. The G90 mic is much "hotter" and using it in the X6100 will cause severe over modulation. Cheers ZL1LC

    Just dove into the WW CW contest on 20m with a dipole and 100w amp. Worked stations in EU and Carib, Receiver did well and TX was good. I used a Begali paddle that almost cost as much as the radio. The pan display was a big help. I heard the CR3 nicely on a whip with ground radials. In playing with it for a couple of weeks. I think it will need a carrying case or padded bag to keep down the wear and tear.

      Here is the case I use with mine. Tight fit, but I wanted something I could put in a bag. ua-cam.com/video/YL9icxTSg1g/v-deo.html

    Thank Todd we have some coders here hack this quirky radio. I guess if Xiegu does change the password, it may be possible to work around it. If they know what's good for them, they will leave it at 123. The radio being hackable- helps them sell more radios. The lack of shielding between boards internally will still plague us with ghost signals etc. Oh well.

    • @temporarilyoffline
      @temporarilyoffline  2 роки тому

      Since the radio will boot from SD card, we can interrupt the boot cycle and insert our own code/reset the password that way. I'm fairly certain we are safe. Check out TOADs, we now have a working linux boot image available!

    Our eyes don't perceive colors as equally bright. Red, green and blue are weighted as 21%, 72% and 7% respectively. After display gamma of 2.4, red is 0.21^2.4 = 0.0236 and blue is 0.07^2.4 = 0.0017 for a contrast ratio of 14.0. But blue-on-white is a contrast ratio of 1.00/.0017 = 588.
    588 is much bigger than 14.

    Hi great info, red is kind of annoying, white looks good, change back ground colors would be great,
    black on white back ground could be better in some instances,
    hopefully they might do a firmware change to whatever colors you want? Thanks

    fyi... it's not old man eyes. red and blue are at far ends of visible spectrum. the red/blue combo will give you a headache trying to focus. doubt me?..... look into GUI dev standards. 73s

      @SheepdogPreparedness 2 роки тому

      @@temporarilyoffline It worked, but apparently the white text ui file was compiled from 1.1.3 because it shows up that way in System, so it doesn't have the other 1.1.4 features, like the ability to turn off the peak hold meter feature and what not.
