omg, its amazing! good job! I did not buy ATEM mini pro because there is no macro button, thank you! this is great solution, and opens up limitless possibilities for the ATEM mini pro
@@CreateConsumeRepeat yes, but I don't see the reasonableness, the difference is only in the number of buttons :D Atem mini pro with the stream deck are more powerful, or am I wrong?
I think it’s a cool piece of hardware for a very specific type of user. I think the multiple chroma key is fantastic. Macro buttons are nice. Adding in the USB-C ports is clutch for those that want to record Zoom calls. The two HDMI out solves the issue of monitoring while pumping out to a monitor during an event. The best part, which feels like them admitting a huge oversight, is the inclusion of an audio monitoring port.
Dude, you are awesome! Everyone else was running the Companion app directly to the Stream Deck, which wouldn’t control my other hardware. By running the Stream Deck software on my Stream Deck, and importing the Companion buttons into the Stream Deck software, you’ve saved my setup and given me a way to control the atem! Thank you!
Great video tutorials, just started using atem mini pro and your video helped me to learn so much thank you again for such a simple and understandable video.
Your videos are incredible. So much detail and you follow logical steps that are clearly defined and shown with visual examples so that the viewer can easily replicate the techniques you explain. You are a gift :)
Your instruction is so good it's criminal! I am having issues though. Must be me. I can't get the stream deck to work with it. Also everytime I go to click on the "Chroma" and click "Chroma Sample" I have to search for a green image to click on. When I watch your videos.. seems like you don't have to go through with looking for a green image. Gonna keep trying though.. I have a gig on Tuesday to Friday and hoping I can get it squared away. Thanks for all you do.
1) When you say you can’t get the StreamDeck to work, what exactly is the problem maybe I can help you diagnose it. 2) I suggest you use the same chromakey color. that way once you’ve selected it you’ll never have to re-select it again since every chroma key is the same value
Very much lost but very much intrigued to figure out everything you are talking about lol. New to using the Atem Mini Pro, my skills are pushing the 1,2,3,4 buttons 😂
Downstream keys are usually relegated to static images like bugs. But if you follow the same steps in the video but do it in the downstream key it should work. Just keep in mind that the downstream key can’t chroma key. It only keys out black or white.
Thanks so very much for this video! Your method of breaking things down and production quality is supreme! An honest thank you for these very helpful videos. I did seem to encounter an issue today though! For some reason any time I make a multi action in Stream deck, that calls the Companion Macro, it does not work. But all other macros and functions in this video worked perfectly. Anyone else come across this issue?
@@CreateConsumeRepeat Thanks for the prompt reply!! I'll take a second look, but all the other functions worked just fine. Is there more to the configuration than setting the correct IP?
If you have your IP setup correctly the next thing I would do is ensure you are referencing the correct macro button in companion. In my video this is discussed at length at the 8 minute mark.
wow, now that I saw it, great video again as always. Making something that seemed so complex and breaking it down so easily is really a gift. Thanks for this kind of value. can i do this and have more than one scene with graphics in obs and run them through different buttons on the atem?
Yes. All you need to do is create different animations and place each one in its own scene in OBS. Then on the stream deck create a button for each new animation. That is exactly how I use it.
your contents and your pages deserve millions of views and followers. you saved my ass not only once or twice but number of times!!! Thank you as always!!!!
Hey man ! Awesome tutorial, visuals, audio, speed. Keep up the good work ! The Elgato Streamdeck is not necessary as you have an Emulator and even Web buttons on Companion. This allows you to connect and iPad via Ethernet or wifi to the same network and access the companion buttons. And voilà !
That´s a really good video. You did a great job and you are a friendly guy. Thanks for your super explanation 👍 Greetings from Berlin in Germany to NYC 🙋🏻♂️
Great tutorial! I have one question though. When I select the Fill Source in the Upstream Key settings on the ATEM, I don’t see Mac or PC choices. I was kind of hoping these somehow appeared via the network or USB connection. Is there a way to do that? Or, do you have to run from a video output on the computer to a video input on the ATEM and you just name that input either Mac or PC? Thanks for the clarification!
At 6:40 you can transition to any input as long as it isn’t the input running OBS since you will have selected that input from the downstream key drop down. In this video that is input 4 titled iMac. As for getting it to work, please watch the video and follow it step by step. I ensure each video I create works and includes every step.
@4:27 in the video you open with select "more actions" which my stream deck app does not have. My device (20ga9902) is connected. My version is 6.5. I noticed that the stream deck icon in your video has 3x5 buttons but in my app it has 3x2, although my stream deck has 3x5 physical interface... what could be the issue? Has the new version of the software changed? Thanks
Great Video, your teaching style is so good ( for newbies like me) at putting complex actions into clear and logical steps. Subscribed and looking forward to more deep dives into the weeds :). About to look at your other videos to see if you have covered SuperSources on the EXtreme.
Great video. Two quick questions: will this work with the entry level Atem Mini and can this process work with just the stream deck app for iOS? Thanks 😊
I don’t own the ATEM Mini so I don’t know for sure. My gut answer is yes as long as it is connected to the same network. The first thing I would do is download the Companion app and test if it works. If that works then you should be in business.
@@CreateConsumeRepeat Yes, I have used the exact same method as you described in the video for retrieving the IP address. The switch has Ethernet cable to the router. My MacBook is on the WiFi. Would that be the issue?
Hmmm... After creating the macro - then programming OBS for the multi action - the OBS video it's linked too doesn't automatically play. Does the OBS video have to be prepped (on the extended display in full screen) for when the stream button is pressed, in order for it to work? Also, can I use the same extended display for loading/programming multiple clips preloaded in OBS, without having to open, maximize to full screen on the extended display through OBS before playing it? Please help... I'm stuck.
All your videos should be loaded into OBS and OBS should be open full screen on the secondary display. The only thing I would check is; ensure Collection and Scene are set properly.
Ok. Reason I asked is when using stream deck mobile on my iPad, I keep getting disconnects. I read elsewhere that the stream deck app and Companion can conflict. Maybe the physical stream deck wouldn’t have that issue due to being hard wired.
Thanks for these tips! Just to confirm - so if I wanted to switch to a different chroma animation I would always have to manually send each scene from OBS to the secondary display (Input 4)? Is there a way to not have to manually do this for each Choma animation scene?
You could create separate macros for each animation and using a stream deck trigger them with a button press. More info can be found on this episode. ua-cam.com/video/ZD114_CCTpE/v-deo.html
Excited for my next streaming gig tomorrow. The first one to encorporate more than just a single camera and still via my Atem mini! I've got animated graphics and 2 cameras ready to trigger!
Hi! I have a little bit of an issue. When I put my ATEM's IP Address into Companion, the Status tab stays on "Connecting" and doesn't do anything. Can I get some help please?
the companion note 么 “Ignoring Stream Decks devices as the stream deck app is running” it“s seems can‘t word with stream deck app。could you offer some help?
It’s hard to understand your question but it seems like you’re asking why the companion can’t find the Stream Deck. As mentioned in the video, you need to load the Companion plugin on the stream deck. Please follow the video step by step.
It won’t re-activate. You red to create a blank scene in OBS and in your Stream Deck Macro tell it to go back to the blank once it it done playing your animation. That way you can replay the animation to your hearts content.
