Uncas and Alice have always stuck out to me because there are almost no words spoken between the two of them. their feelings for one another are palpable, and that makes it all the more beautiful.
In my opinion, Eric is the most beautiful person in the movie. I loved him the first time I laid eyes on him in the movie. HE IS THE BEST. Maybe all he did was run, but when he did speak, it was Awesome. that voice of his is magnificent. Much success to you Eric in everything you do in life.
He was incredibly charismatic in the film, I couldn't take my eyes off him ... something as beautiful as he was born ... I think all the women in the world love him ... 💋👍
The Last of the Mohicans wouldn't be as popular as it is without Uncas and Alice, I swear. I'm sure their "unspoken" mystical romance sparked more sentiments amongst the audience and this alone contributed much to the movie.
I believe that too! I remember that I watched this movie as a young child (way too young to watch this lol) and all I remembered was their romance. Even as like 7-8 years old I didn't care for Cora and Nathaniel. And when I remembered that love story again in my mid-twenties, I wanted to watch it again and was shocked and disturbed by the brutally! I completely blocked that out :D
Even without the character of Alice he would have been the best actor in this movie. Honestly.... is there a more handsome man than Eric Schweig, then and now?
there is no one that could have played this part better than eric. he is such a beautiful man and his voice is so capturing. he truly is a great actor.
The movie will be an eternal masterpiece to me solely because of Eric and Jodhi May (Uncas and Alice). They might have had less screen time, but their presence (and their "little" story) in each scene made such a huge difference!! That's why, I think, even supporting characters should be chosen with great care and attention. Whoever chose the two for their respective roles did a magnificent job.

I loved watching Eric Schweig in this movie. He was the reason I bought the movie. I looked for him in every scene. He is a very, very beautiful person then and now.
I have always said that the Last of the Mohicans was a great movie all of the actors played it well but Eric was the star of the movie the features and expressions on his face told a story when they came to the cabin how he looked at the dead laying on the ground how you could see how it was hurting him and he played those scenes so well his Expressions was beautiful in that movie he was a very beautiful man I know when I first seen him when I first saw the movie I just fell in love with him myself and to this day when I see the movie and watch him it's like wow why couldn't this something like that happened to me I have an Indian background and on my grandmother's side and I have all the respect in the world for the Indian Nation and all I can think of was wow if someone could look at me that way from afar I would probably would not know how to act but it would be beautiful and that's what made that movie so beautiful was Eric when he was playing out his roles in there he should have had more rolls in that movie but sometimes it isn't always what you speak out loud sometimes it's just the quietness and the look of a person's face can tell you a lot sometimes it was a great movie the best the scene where she was walking into the cave under the waterfalls and she stood for a minute in the light in the water flowing with a little bit of rainbow shining through and he looked at her and at that moment is when you knew he fell in love he fell in love with her and then when he grabbed her when she was standing at the waterfalls and held her in his arms you could just see the love Expressions coming out through his face his hands his arms his whole body you could just see it that was a wonderful feeling and love can be I get very sad every time I watch the movie but it shows you that two cultures can come together and love each other no matter who they were and where they come from and that is a precious thing to love like that that's what you call True Love From the Heart there's not much of that these days out here in this world but I'm glad that we have movie like that to show us how to people can come together no matter where they are from sending much respect Ellen Yvette from Ohio
This is probably the best quality Uncas collage on UA-cam. Eric Schweig's portrayal of Uncas is outstanding. He IS Uncas personified! Thank you for making it; I've added it to my favorites list.
Eric is a very good person inside and out...good actor, artist, and mentor. I wish I could have him as a son...what a wonderful person he is through and through.
I fell in love with this character the moment I saw him. Think I will always be in love with him. Totally ripped my heart out when he was so cruelly taken on screen. I was so into him, so into the movie that it actually felt like I’d lost him in real life.
Me too . My crush since 90's haha. Alice & Uncas deserved a happy ending. The movie director did a mistake cutting their scenes. The actress was 16 , her mother disagree about sex scenes in the movie, but they recorded a Kiss scene in the waterfall. Unifortunately it was deleted
I read that he felt he was given this role based on the fact that he was tall and would look better as Hawkeye's "brother". If you want to see how well he can act - look at Big Eden, Blackstone, Missing, etc. He also didn't think that a white English woman could survive in the America of LOTM - and because I know they could and did - I think he sold some members of my family a bit short. But Schweig is a really good guy who does so much for people who are lost and abandoned. Read about his work - you'll like him for more than one film where he plays a very handsome Mohican.
Loved him from Last of the Mohicans. One of my favorite films and soundtracks from when I first saw it when I was a child. I want to jump into film and be with him.
O filme é maravilhoso, o cenário, as atuações, a trilha sonora. .
This is the guy right here ,who gave hawk eye ,and a few others a good run for their money on good looks alone , and he hardly said any lines ! In the film . They should have given him the lead role I think. He could act .

In the book it was chora and uncas who formed a love, it was also those 2 who died, so although I loved the film it was an important change that they made.
@mageru Very interesting...no wonder she followed him in death...it didn't make all that much sense when I first saw the film, how she would do that with them sharing a few meaningful glances. But if they actually made love, then of course it makes sense.

Why? The main character was a Caucasian adopted by native americans.
This is old but Hawkeye was a white man who was adopted by the Mohicans. He's perfectly fitting for the part.
Amazing
If they made a movie version of the book "Touching Spirit Bear" Eric could star in it along with Graham Greene and Finn Wolfheart.
Red Indians has Strong Spirit and Determination.
if this was part one are there others please

Where might one find the transcript to this movie? I agree, her jumping off the cliff did not make sense to me until I started reading the comments on this page.
It totally ruins the relationship. Why wouldn't she jump?
