B, he wasn’t mocking the Panthers, he was laughing with Frederic because he had been about to cover it and Frederic swept it out of his reach and caused the scramble afterwards before he could cover it again. Just two guys laughing about a miscommunication, but you can certainly go ahead and make everything about the panthers if you want

Definitely not a bruins fan (rooted against them in round 1), but Carlo scoring on the same day that his son was born was a nice little heartwarming storyline
that last goal by Wood was insane. It is incredible that he can pick up that much speed, and still score, and not eat it afterwards.
Loved watching him with NJ, hope the Avs will be a good fit for him! He hasn't seen quite as much ice, and rightly so as his talent normally is mid, but he's a guy that can really come in clutch in games like this because he works like a freaking dog. Glad to see it pay off for him! Also hope he keeps improving so we can see him as a regular! Honestly sort of reminds me of Nichuskin a bit; would be cool to see him take the reins some day.
Im not an Avs fan, but merely a lifetime Devils fan, but i am so happy to see Miles Wood have a day with that OT break and use his gifts of streaky speed to bang out that game winner!!
He is very easy to root for. He’s a humble guy that just wants to work harder and harder. I can easily see him being on a construction crew and being an eager ox that just wants to help everyone.

Absolutely. I fell in love with hockey just last year, and I’ve never actually played the game. Of course I can follow the game just fine, but these breakdowns are next level at understanding the deeper happenings. *Bonus points for all the dry humor sprinkled in. 👌

Playoff hockey is absolutely better than any other sports playoffs. It's not even close and I'm a huge sports fan. Hockey's also one of the only sports that's better in person than on TV. You usually miss more being at a game like football. Basketball is also better in person
Really? I havent been to a ton of games but depending on seating it can be incredibly hard to see some areas. If you sit right behind the net its hard to see whats going on on the other side for example and you obviously dont want to miss that action

@@jonnyscheibenhauer4059 Even on TV you lose sight of the puck on the boards unless they're showing a replay. I guess I really enjoy watching the stars play without the puck. You also get to see how fast some skate compared to others. I also love watching the teams instigators like a Marchand because you'll see them annoying opposing players by tapping them with their sticks in their crotch or butt's. Just stuff like that which you'd never catch watching at home
@@adriankalitka3762 I love the guys who aren't blessed with great speed but make up for it with smart positioning it's harder to see that on TV and yes it's fun seeing guys lose their minds against guys like Marchand.
@jameshannagan4256 I'm a Rangers fan and remember one game, probably 10 years ago, watching Ovechkin hanging out by the boards over the blue line after the Rangers dumped the puck in. I was like wtf? This guy isn't playing an D. They tried passing it to Jim a few times and it didn't work but finally did and he scored on a breakaway. This was the beginning of the game and right after he scored he played D and wasn't there anymore. I guess he saw something and exploited it. I went home to rewatch the game to see if the announcers talked about it. They didn't

i saw the first 2.1/2 periods. that was one of the best hockey games i have ever seen. The rangers are really good in transition and sometimes they try to do too much. They need to settle down and go for a secure shot instead of trying to make magical goals. But they are very very enjoyable team to watch in terms of hockey. Like wow... i was drinking pure coca colas and fries ... and it was good fun. To watch these guys play. I then went to the gym here in the west end of toronto and... i was watching play by play on the phone. I saw the 3-3 . Being toronto and so mad about hockey there are people who are into hockey who also like the rangers but I are not as huge fans. I think the brillance of the moment was just how many end to end rushes there were. And how tightly disputed it was in terms of goalie moments. Top top tier quality game. Honestly , whomever watched that game live. You got your $$$$$ worth. I was hoping panarin was going to be the winner, meaning the game ending goal scorer but it was trochek. Sick sick game.
Theres nothing better than playoff hockey!!!!?? Did anyone realize that on Lohrei's snipe of a goal he had Pasta wide open for a backdoor tip in but he kinda waved off Pasta and just absolutely SNIPED IT!!!? GO BRUINS!!!!

Seeing as all national media had to say about the Avs is they are a one line team and Dallas has all the depth, seeing Cogs and Wood connect for just a beauty of a GWG was just *chefs kiss*
Which I dont get at all. Did any of them watch round 1? Avs were scoring from literally everywhere, from every line. The depth was crazy.
I had someone jump down my throat yesterday when I said the Avs have greater scoring depth than Dallas. Glad last nights game proved my point.
@@CJ-1776 I don't think they do, they just see the stats and see the top 6 absolutely destroying it because everything has been so high scoring and jump to the assumption.
Laffy becoming a playoff weapon is huge for the Rangers. You can see that Kakko and Cuylle are really close to getting some goals too. If the Rangers can get a few goals out of the 3rd line that will go a loooooong way.

That's Rempe, he's BIG by hockey standards, so that was definitely the Rangers sending the message: you mess with our goalie again, and we won't hesitate to return the favor. It's definitely the right call imo, gotta stand up for your goalie.

Out of every other year, this year the hate for Vegas is absolutely unreal.
There are 4 cities with both an NHL and NBA team in the playoffs, so i'd imagine that affected scheduling with round 1 & 2.

They always say the Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy to win, and if Dallas wins it this year that will be extra true. Having to go against Vegas in round 1 into Colorado in round 2 is a murderer's row of opponents

As a NYR & Hockey fan, I know this series is far from over. CAR can just as easily be up 2-0. The diff is special teams & goldtending. Game 3 will be critical for both teams.

Great analysis on how the Rangers were able to breakdown the Hurricanes (very good) PK unit. The PK has been one of Carolina’s biggest strengths all season, but I wonder if they’ll need to change tactics to a “plan B” against the Rangers’ PP, specifically

Trocheck is becoming arguably the most important skater on the team (power play, penalty kill, and clutch goals in 5 straight games).

The Avalanche OT goal in real time was insane to watch . I knew from Rd 1 that the Avalanche were fast , I just didn't know it ran up and down the roster . Dallas better play smarter, or it's going to be over in a hurry . Carolina can play their asses off and still be down 2 games . As a rangers fan, game 3 is a must win for the canes or else they have to go into game 4 against a team that’s on the verge of getting 2 consecutive sweeps. The only option I see for them to win is to score on the power play, something the rangers have completely shut down for the canes.

Hard to watch the Stars give that one up at home. Boys came out swinging in the first period then took a fkn nap the rest of the game.. The little rest between game 7 and game 1 showed.
Agreed and on the flip side the Avs looked real rusty after that long layoff. To a man the Avs players have said they hate long breaks. Just tough to get back into it. I think we'll see more of what both of these teams are really about as the series goes on. That game one was not typical of either team IMO, other than the Avs making yet another multi-goal comeback. You just can't ever give those guys any life or they bury you.

I'm sad my knights didn't make round two, but I'm not entirely surprised. Just hoping the Canucks can pull off an upset or two now.
So far the Rangers have been playing like a team on a mission. Last year's 1st round exit was the best thing that could have happened. They added Kane and Tarasenko at the deadline and looked past an inferior Devils team.
I think that Leaf Cup parade is being postponed indefinitely. Re: that OT call on Skjei it wasn't just the weak cross-check, he slashed the skate immediately after guaranteeing the player would go down. Whatever you want to call it, Hurricanes had 2 PPs in the OT so please, no crying.

I picked Colorado from the beginning for multiple reasons, however there were only a few teams that didn't have a chance as most of the teams these playoffs could win it all without an argument. I feel Colorado's Speed, recent experience from winning the Cup, and how "Hungry" theu still seem to be.......
