I don’t know what to say! You are such an amazing mentor, teacher, lecturer, I don’t know what else to add. I’m so happy I landed to your UA-cam channel. Learned a lot. More than anything I just love the way how are you deliver your points that is so clear and straight to the point. Once again thank you so much and keep up the good work!
This is great! Not only did you answer questions that I have had you answered questions I didn't know I would have but can see that I would have had them soon anyway. I love the way you don't talk about what you are going to talk about but just go right into it. No fluff or fat, no chat or distractions. This is just great!
I would love to be a Tableau guru, but there are so many other experts out there. I am just trying to share what I can and hope that will be helpful to some :)
I could see your effort and hardworking you put to make it simple to us. I am actively looking for a Tableau development opportunity and gaining so much knowledge from your tips....I have no words to thank you and You are my Guru!!!. Wish me a good luck !I hope I will find one soon!
Do you know how long I have been trying to figure out how to remove the ABCs? Way too long. Thank you sqlbelle for that valuable tip!!! You made my day.
This was super awesome, this is best channel if you are looking to learn tableau. Can you please create a video on using a calculated field with a parameter.
Thank you Pushkar! I have a video on Parameters that uses a number of calculated fields: ua-cam.com/video/0Uar_D57QhU/v-deo.html .. this may be helpful?
Thank you Chinugundi, glad to hear you found the video useful. I am planning to do more advanced calculations. Please do check out my other calculation videos - table calcs (ua-cam.com/video/3_DeQdE25Bc/v-deo.html) and LODs (ua-cam.com/video/yush1yNz9VM/v-deo.html)
Thank you so much putting all the Tableau tips and tricks together in your videos. Those looks simple but really a time saver . You are a amazing mentor. Keep up the good work. BTW, Do you provide Tableau Training? If yes, Pls provide me a link so I can go and enroll. I would be happy to take Advance Tableau class with you.
Thank you Sikha for your feedback. I am glad you found the video helpful. I do teach at a local college for now but I believe these are mostly for students enrolled in a specific certification in BC: www.bcit.ca/courses/introduction-to-visual-analytics-with-tableau-comp-2256/
Hello Qamar - thank you for your note! The table calculations video may have something similar, but I cannot recall if it's specific to products.. ua-cam.com/video/3_DeQdE25Bc/v-deo.html
This is such good content . Kudos to you for more tips and tricks that helps all of us out here. You videos are detailed ,simple, clean and precise. Thank you for bringing forth these contents :)
Again, just amazing. !! Given that you are so good with tableau i need to ask one question. Is tableau capable of creating amazing infographics? (Apart for the usual stuff like maps, and all the basic charts) i am talking about infographic like those created via canva or other tools? Graphics which speaks its story for itself.
I am happy to hear you found the tips useful (althought not happy to hear you have a dent in your forehead 😅). I got your note, and will definitely do something on formatting 😀. Very much appreciate your comments and suggestions, Jim!
Pls make videos on topics like blending vs joins vs union, data modelling , single table & multi table extract, all date calculation and uses in like YOY , rank vs index, row level security...Thanks for help..
I love your tutorials-They are very informative & intelligible! 👍 Can you please make (a) demo(s) of Animations in Tableau? I wish to learn (i) how to animate a dual axis viz, (ii) export it to the decision- makers, & (iii) how to animate TrendLines. Thanks in advance!
@@sqlbelle .......... 1000000000 Thanks! 👍😁 Indeed; Pairing smooth animations with "Pages" shelf to display growth indicators over time would be very intelligible.
Hello Naga, For Tableau Desktop, it should pull the most recent information once you open your file (twb/twbx). It will not however keep on polling the data source once the workbook is open, and this is by design. If it is for server, it should also pull the most recent information once you open the workbook in the browser, if it is live connection. It will not continuously poll either, as many things are defined once that initial connection is set up. Here is an additional resource for your reference, if it is helpful: help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/refreshing_data.htm Here is another one on "Automatically Refresh Tableau Server Views in a Browser at Regular Intervals": kb.tableau.com/articles/issue/Refresh-Tableau-Server-Views-Without-Refreshing-Browser?_ga=2.87508632.12022266.1603556766-78718833.1603556766 Hope this helps! Donabel
Haha :) Thank you Sonder. I have to admit I use dual axis a fair bit. Not for using different charts, but for accentuating or conditionally adding something, like a label or highlight.
One way to do it will be through a background image, and possibly using a tool like Figma, Photoshop, Affinity Photo/Designer. I am intending to create a few tutorials / examples on this in future videos.
