@@sqlbelle I wonder if you are planning to create videos about formatting incoming text from fields that contain paragraphs. For example, I would like to indent an entire paragraph with a bullet point
Hi Linda,
I was planning to do one or few videos about creating a resume in Tableau, which may have something similar to what you described. However for these ones, the data set will have blocks of text - basically each paragraph is in its own record. One way you can explore is to bring this in text, but have another column just before that has just a shape (for the bullet).
I'll try to incorporate in the next couple videos that I am planning to publish.
Thank you for your feedback and suggestion! Much appreciated!

Hello Donabel, Thank you for your lessons. Very informative and very well presented. I have a question on COUNTD calculation with IF condition. It gives me an "cannot mix aggregate and non-aggregate comparisons" error when using Ration calculation in IF statement. How it can be solved?
Hi Tanya,
Thank you for your note!
Usually what you can do is embed the IF in the COUNTD, for example, something like this:
COUNTD
( IF condition = True
THEN yourfieldID
END
) / COUNTD(yourfieldID)
Hope this helps! Please give it a try, would love to hear how it goes.
Donabel
Great video and very helpful! I am struggling to calculate the DOW four-week average. So comparing a Tuesday to the average of the previous 4 Tuesdays. Is there an easy way calculate this?
Hi Russ - there are a few ways we can do this. What kind of chart do you have? One strategy I can think of is using the LOOKUP function (something with an offset of -7 on a daily chart/worksheet) and that can help get 4w average.
Thanks for bring such a amazing lesson.
Is it possible to get the Powerpoint if it's okay?
Thanks again !!!
Thank you for your comment Alice! Hope you found the video helpful 😀
Really like your voice ! :)
Thank you Simon, that's a very kind comment 🙂
Hi This is very informative video, and also wanted to know how to extract last name or first name if we have only name and first and last name written together , Thanks
Hi Ms. Belle, I'm a Fan. I really love how you explain everything. I hope I could get your excel file so I can try it myself all your samples. I am newbie with Tableau. Thank you in advance.
Thank you Aireen. I am planning to put all the files together to be downloadable. But please feel free to email me or connect with me on LinkedIn if you'd like to have it soon.
@@sqlbelle Hi Ms. Belle. I already sent connection in LinkedIn. Looking forward to connect with you. Godspeed!
I have a dataset that sales of June and July. I want to compare period A (from 10/06 to 24/06) with period B (from 1/7 to 14/07). Can you help me to create calculate?. Thank you so much
Hello Ty! Would this period change? If so, what would be the conditions?
If the dates are fixed, you can do a couple calculations like this:
//Calculated Field 1: Previous Period
SUM (If Date >= '2021-06-10' AND Date < '2021-06-25' THEN YourMeasure END)
//Calculated Field 2: Current Period
SUM (If Date >= '2021-07-01' AND Date < '2021-07-14' THEN YourMeasure END)
If it's a typical month over month calculation, you can consider table calculations:

Hope this helps.
Explanation is fabulous. I got the basic knowledge about calculations part. But, could you please provide me the path to download the data set that you had used in the video? Thank you and eagerly waiting for your response.
Thank you Likhith. The data set is discussed towards the beginning: ua-cam.com/video/QimVQl5AoYM/v-deo.html
