30-Day Nordic Hamstring Challenge For Running Resilience
Вставка

- Running requires a lot of eccentric hamstring strength. So I did a 30-day nordic drop hamstring challenge to see how much hamstring strength I could build. Learn what the research says about nordic curls and how it applies to running.
Also, learn modifications to the nordic drop exercise and how to find the right balance between recovery and training load.

Thank you for sharing! Nordics hammy curls are my fav. I place the Nordic stick under my door. I use door that open away from my exercise location. ❤
Thanks brodie, this was really helpful in terms of showing what real-time progession could look like.
You’re welcome David 😅 a bit of dedication and structure 💪
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on this 👍
Haha thanks. Foam rolling challenge will be released in a few days.
Challenge accepted... I had to order one of those devices that is used with a door. I don't really have a sophisticated home gym.
This looks like something I can use.
Favorite hamstring exercise: Deadlift. I was going to say bridges because they relieve pain, but I know how you feel about bridges being insufficient to create strength!
You’re right Bridges aren’t the best hamstring exercise and I think they are over-prescribed 😅😅 deadlifts a lot better 👏
Fav hamstring excercise= resistance band streching 🙄😉
I love a two hand kettlebell swing, loading up in hamstring and glutes 🤙
One of my favourites too! Particularly in a HIIT type of workout 👏
@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe thanks for the reply, really enjoying your video's and your podcast keep up the great work.
Appreciate your comments and kind words
😮😮😮😮 wow!!! THAT’s impressive, and interesting too!! Hmmmm I can see that could do wonders for lower back strength too! 🤔 Glad you didn’t break your nose there!!! Do heel to toe rocks count as hamstring exercises?? I always do 10 of them as part of my quick pre-run dynamic warm ups!
Hmm do you mean rocking from your heels to your toes when standing? If so that would be more of a calf exercise than hamstring. I’ll do doing a video on warm ups shortly.
@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe GREAT!!! Yes calves, true! Sooo yes hamstrings of course , I guess then that’s when I lean forward against something with heels on the ground then in turns bend each knee lifting the heal, 10 each side ! Or same with downward dog !
@@jamesdunne2 HI JAMES!!! Yeah I'm a big fan of Brodie's stuff, I'm addicted to his podcasts while out running and I LOVE his book!!! I'm very much hoping to hear you on one of his podcasts one day soon, would be truly fascinating and informative to hear you talking about your comeback for example!! Hope you're still enjoying it!! 🙋🏻♀
So what good did it do you? Any measurable improvement in any athletic endeavors? Sprint speed? Vertical jump?
Would have been nice to test those things 😅 unfortunately I did not 🫣
Slow eccentric, fast concentric RDLs.
Nice job on the nordics. Get a GHD though. 😂
My favorite hamstring exercise has become the prone ham curls at the gym. But I think I am going to try Nordic curls couple of times a week consistently and see what gains I get ..
Did you get any benefit from Nordic curls?
I hope you are going well with your Nordic curls Chitra! 😇
