I know it's not convenient to be interrupted while making a video but I have to mow my own lawn and make my own tea so I thought it was lovely. And the head butts were adorable. So much love in one video!
😂😂 yep I wore a green/blue one Saturday and a black one in the Sunday 😂. I live mine, and really fancy making it as a jumper too ❤. Your husband was so funny!!!! I love that 😂
Well goodness, now I know who to officially blame for all of the Snuggler downloads lately! 🥰 Thanks for giving my pattern a shoutout! I hope I get to see if/when you make one for yourself.
I think this is my favorite video you have done! You are a spoiled lady. I love that your husband is enough of a character that he interrupted you AND came in and got your cup! I am really interested in the v neck top. Thank you for all the good ideas. Keep being you!
😂🤣😆🤣😂. So glad you keep the last 2mins in. You have me laughing and chuckling out loud. On a serious note lived all your suggestions for jumpers. Looking forward to seeing which of ‘the new to you’ ones you make.
Loved the video, especially Simba's entrance. She headbutts you because she loves you and is greeting you and showing her bum is an honour :-) I have just ordered stretch velvet for a Christmas sweater, but haven't decided on a pattern. Food for thought here.
Hi Simba! I love your little bum! Lol! It’s so hard to pick a pattern when you have so many to choose from. I cannot wait to see what you decide to make!
Lovely to see you and Simba ❤ and thanks for recommendations, I need more jumpers in my life and am sure I have plenty of stash to make them. You always brighten my day, enjoy your peppermint tea X
Love this video with such great options for patterns! Had a nice chuckle when your husband popped in to ask if you want a tea (how sweet) and you just rolled with the interruption (the cat footage was adorable!). I have the Nina Lee Southbank Sweater pattern and haven't yet made it but love it everytime I see someone's version. I also love the Snuggler Sweater by Pattern Emporium and think I will take a closer look. Thank you for your videos and hope you and your family are doing well.
Hello Great inspiration for warm sweaters I actually have a batch cut out some very similar sweaters and a sweater dress I know that you can make all 5 Easy peasy Do a session of cutting out and when you get a few minutes or more You can just sit down and sew a few seams some of these especially dolman sleeve are quick makes I have 2 made and 5 more items cut out So can't wait to see your makes Your videos always bring me a smile while giving me great sewing ideas Happy sewing Take care 👚🧵👖👗✂️🪡
So, because it was so popular….I have the Billie but haven’t made it. I don’t wear sweatshirts, or sweaters much (menopause😂) I may give it a try and see if I change my mind. I can just imagine having a hot flash and wanting to tear out of it! Oh my.
I’ve had that Fiber Mood top with the pull strings on my list since they dropped it! It’s just so good. Also, that Mood one with the sleeve detail is just so cool and one I hadn’t seen yet. Thanks for the suggestions and love the cat and husband cameo. They really just took over the vlog at the end 😂
So inspiring Ruan, I really want to go and make all of the things now - I’ve had Southbank pattern forever and never made it so think this is my weekend sewing plans sorted xx
😂Can see where your boys get the interrupting from now! 😂 My husband just bought me a cuppa almost at the same moment! 😂 I love the look of the Snuggler Sweater, it's very different, could make in a sparkly fabric for Chr%*stm@s 🙊 too!
Ooh. Several here that I'd never heard of. Thank you! This really inspired me to dig into my own pattern collection. Of the ones you mentioned, I have only made the Southbank (2x dresses) and the Jarrah. Unfortunately, the Jarrah didn't turn out great, but I am determined to give it another go. The Bixa looks fab! (And I mean.. the interruption was priceless. Laughed out loud :))
Love your vlogs, especially the Mr Yorkshire SewGirl’s interlude - don’t be cross, he’s offering sustenance!! The hoodie Mile End Sweatshirt is next on my list, in a blue alpine fleece. Waves & Wild’s Hot Coffee is my T&T.
Thank you, I want all of them, also there is a new one from Sinclair patterns, sleeves are a match to one in Oliver Bonas. I've made most of the 5 you have already made so I'm keen 5o make some different ones❤❤❤
Those all look great, I've only made the Jarrah. In fact, I've made 5 versions. I really love the pattern emporium one, as I think their patterns have loads of options, but really fancy trying the "V" neck one. It's always nice to see someone else's ideas too. Thanks Ruan 😊
Some great suggestions Ruan, I made my first jumper a couple of years ago by copying one of my ready to wear ones. Really surprised at how easy they are sew. For me the barrier is often the cost of indie patterns so they have to deliver, therefore I was delighted to see your recommendations. Thank you.
Wow the Snuggler looks fabulous! Haven't heard of it or seen any design like that so thank you for sharing! I also love the Jarrah, also a big fan of the Nikko!
Lovely makes as always and massive crush on the Monroe turtle neck and the Mood society free pattern (unfortunately for me no A0 format :( but amazing website I agree! The Peppermint website has the A0 option (similar website) :))
I use the Vera pattern -and is FREE - in all sorts of fabrics. Love that it has a v-neck and fitted type sleeves. Having a small shoulder girdle, drop shoulders are not for me so many of these patterns are not on my list. Also have a couple of Southbanks in sweatshirting. Made version of the Mila by tracing round a RTW. Off to Walton’s today……
Great pattern choices. I haven't actually made any of those so got lots of new ones to try. I have a Billie planned and have plenty of fabrics for others. I love seeing people's cats and dogs. Mine never gets up on the table so love seeing others being cheeky!
This brightened my morning to see you and Simba❤ such a great vlog with some cool patterns I haven’t come across before. It is definitely sweater weather here in Oregon now and I plan on more Jarrahs but want to try something new. Such great free patterns too.
Super blog with some great ideas of jumpers to try. I’ve made the southbank sweater as a dress for a friend & it came together really easily - now need to make a myself a couple. Thank you for the info re the lights I will definitely go & check those out, also some of the other sweater patterns. ❤
Loved this vlog . I NEED all those jumpers ❤. I printed the MF granite pattern last week & have the Sweetcheeks pattern , I had forgotten about that one . Hey thank you , happy to be copied 🌈 that’s my absolute favorite jumper . Laughed at the tea man entrance
Good vlog (as usual 😊) Have you come across the UA-camr "Sew Tanschi" - she copied Andrea's jumper with the rainbow ribbing and it was fabulous! I think I will have to try that Snuggler Sweater, although it will be parked for a few months. Southern hemisphere here, so we are starting to get a leeetle bit too hot for sweaters!
I'm thinking about making the Tessuti Hazelwood top as I love the swing shape of it. I am definitely going to have a look at the Pattern Emporium Sweet Cheeks one though as well. Really enjoyed your vlog. Thank you!
I've made the forget me knot Vera jumper, which has gorgeous sleeves. I have the bailey jumper by tianas closet waiting to make up too. Both patterns are free 😊
Use my Vera pattern all the time. Nice to have a v-neck. Also used Southbank with sweatshirt fabric and also in stretchy jersey so fits like a turtle neck. My version of a Mika was drawn from a RTW.
Thanks for this great vlog, Ruan. You always come up trumps! 🎉 Looking at my fabric yesterday (after taking delivery of a cotton jersey from Rachel@Stitched-Up) I really must get a few jumpers sewn up for myself! I always struggle with what size to make, not confident with “ease” etc as I don’t like things too baggy, any tips? Thanks again 😘
Oh I hear you. I think it’s sometimes best to measure a jumper you already have and love. That way you can compare the measurements to the finished body measurements on the pattern. That will give you a good idea of what ease you prefer. All patterns differ slightly but this should at least give you a steer 👍🏼
Fun vlog Ruan. I’ve made the jarrah view 1 ,but not the curved hem one. I found it very short ( added2inches)so did you lengthen your versions? I have made Southbank view 2 in a cotton jersey and doubled the neck piece so it is very slouchy. I blatantly copied my god daughter. I made the cropped version once but much prefer the longer lengths on me. I always lengthen the dress 2 inches. On the dress , I find the neck really tight, do you? I have to put my make up on afterwards. 😆 I’ve tried a deeper seam which helps a bit. Any tips? I fancy making another in cableknit as so quick to make. I really liked your 5 choices ,and will look them up. I also want to make a vogue top I saw Rachel had made last year in pink furry fabric. It looks 👌🏻 .vogue 9330. Happy sewing 😊
Yes I lengthened my Jarrah’s! I was ok with the neck band on the southbank. Maybe you could scoop out a little bit on the neckline and then re-measure the new neckline, add on seam allowance and make your own? x
Loved your choices and have a few of them. Just made a Soraya - love it. About to make my second one!! Used a knit from G&G. Velvet sounds good though- you have inspired me. It is very large and I sized down.
😂😂😂 Brilliant beautiful cat and a husband that interrupts your vlog to make you tea 😍
Right?! The best! 🥰
A double sewing room invasion!! Flippin ‘eck, is there no such thing as a sanctuary anymore? 👀🙇♀️ 🤣🤣
🤣🤣 obviously not!
I know it's not convenient to be interrupted while making a video but I have to mow my own lawn and make my own tea so I thought it was lovely. And the head butts were adorable. So much love in one video!
This made me lol Natalie…I’m so spoilt 🤪
😂😂 yep I wore a green/blue one Saturday and a black one in the Sunday 😂. I live mine, and really fancy making it as a jumper too ❤. Your husband was so funny!!!! I love that 😂
Ah yes the black ribbed knit one!
A cat's favourite place is In The Way 😂. Hadn't seen the Snuggler before, it looks lovely.
So true!
Well goodness, now I know who to officially blame for all of the Snuggler downloads lately! 🥰 Thanks for giving my pattern a shoutout! I hope I get to see if/when you make one for yourself.
You are so welcome! Such a lovely pattern 😊
Informative vlog made fabulous by the interruption by your husband and your gorgeous cat - loved it. 😊❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the Hubby & Cat bomb!! I haven’t made any yet but now I have some plans for winter. Sending best wishes from Down Under 🥰💐🌺🌻🌸🌼🇦🇺😎
Thank you! 😊
I think this is my favorite video you have done! You are a spoiled lady. I love that your husband is enough of a character that he interrupted you AND came in and got your cup! I am really interested in the v neck top. Thank you for all the good ideas. Keep being you!

So glad! 🥰
The cat did make me smile 🐱
🤣🤣
😂🤣😆🤣😂. So glad you keep the last 2mins in. You have me laughing and chuckling out loud.
On a serious note lived all your suggestions for jumpers. Looking forward to seeing which of ‘the new to you’ ones you make.
Glad you enjoyed it. I’m too lazy to edit my vlog so they had to stay in it 🤪🤪
Youre a breath of fresh air mrs. X
Awww thank you! ☺️
Loved the video, especially Simba's entrance. She headbutts you because she loves you and is greeting you and showing her bum is an honour :-) I have just ordered stretch velvet for a Christmas sweater, but haven't decided on a pattern. Food for thought here.
🤣🤣. Showing her bum is an honour. So funny!
Thanks from a fellow Yorkshire sewist, your cat made me smile for the first time today 😊😊😊
I'm so glad! 😘
visitors at the end made me chuckle, another great vlog, thank you ❤
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Hi Simba! I love your little bum! Lol! It’s so hard to pick a pattern when you have so many to choose from. I cannot wait to see what you decide to make!
🤣. Thank you!
Such great ideas! Two are on the list.. and some brand new ones too 🎉🎉
Glad to have added to your list honey 🤪
Lovely to see you and Simba ❤ and thanks for recommendations, I need more jumpers in my life and am sure I have plenty of stash to make them. You always brighten my day, enjoy your peppermint tea X
Aww thank you 😊
I wish it was getting warmer over here! Clare from New Zealand 🇬🇸❤
Hope it’s warmer than the UK 😩
Thanks for the great ideas and also including free patterns.
You are so welcome!
I can’t go past the Sew House 7 Toaster sweater or the Named Talvikki jumper 🥰 both of these patterns are super cosy!
Yes I love the look of the Named one! 😍
Simba was the star ❤😂
She so was 🤣

Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
So inspiring Ruan, I really want to go and make all of the things now - I’ve had Southbank pattern forever and never made it so think this is my weekend sewing plans sorted xx
Ooh that would defo suit you Adele! 😍
Great video Ruan, as usual. Perfect for cheering us up on a damp, miserable day.. Certainly given me lots of ideas for a few more seasonal jumpers .
Glad to hear it! 😊😊
