Your videos are number 1 best. Not only do I learn about patterns but material and sewing hacks. I never appreciate the photos on a pattern until I see what they would really look like when sewn, on you. You are a god send to the sewing community. I could not get the education you give if I had to pay for private lessons. Thank you!!!!!!!
I jumped for joy when I saw you posted a new video! Loved absolutely everything you made...even the dud pants look awesome on you. I said it before, and I'll say it again, you absolutely nail your pairing of fabric and patterns to suit your body and style EVERY SINGLE TIME. Can't wait to see what October makes you have in store.

The way you make a pattern your own is really impressive Viv. Some of those patterns I honestly wouldn't take a second look at but you make a couple of changes to them, hem length, sleeve length, a unique fabric and just like that I'm scrambling for a pencil to write down the pattern number, lol! You've got vision!

I’m laid up right now with a deep bone bruise to my left hip after a fall. I can’t get up the stairs to my sewing room and even pre washing an order of new fabric from FM nearly killed me. I’m getting bored, lying in bed, but I’m healing slowly. My fall was 3 weeks ago and I can’t finally go to the kitchen and bathroom with my walker and not say one bad word. Perhaps by the first of next week I can drag myself up by pulling on the handrail. I have way too much fabric and many patterns that need attention!
Enjoy walking that puppy. I miss going out with my Springer but she is too powerful for this 73 year old to risk it right now. If she saw a squirrel it would be over before I could release the leash.

That palm leaf dress- incredible that you were able to match the leaf pattern in that center front seam…thats the only drawback to that pattern…

Favourite is the leaf print dress. Simple yet dramatic. You’ve demonstrated to me that all I need is a husky to lose weight. Easy. October is burning in at the rate of knots. Time is fleeting. ❤

The striped coordinate outfit is dynamite- especially with the gorgeous black topper.
We got a rescue lab/ put. She has so much energy. I was doing the same thing. We started walking at 4am and the last was around 11 at night. I was exhausted. She hyperextend my knee and tore my meniscus. She pulled me into a little hole and I sprained my ankle. Wasn’t sure I would survive. I got a fence and am doing better. Walks are reasonable and she is so proud of the the fact that she keeps her yard free of monsters and critters. Love your style and sewing .
Omg Valerie! I’m so glad things have improved! So sorry for your injuries. Every day we are scheming to get Zinnia exercise. Dog park is figuring less & less. She’s doing well running alongside Brad’s bicycle. We’re enrolling her in doggy daycare and she starts puppy kindergarten next week. And walks. Walks walks walks! A puppy is no joke!! Godspeed!
My dog drags me around, too. However, we haven’t had a murderer or burglar or even a single monster in quite a while. Now, when a bat got inside and both her and my son’s dog were worthless.

@@user-qt1qv1te5p that’s funny! We were on vacation with my son’s family and dogs plus our dog. The men, two pitbull mixes and a boxer all hid from the bat, while my 15 and 16 year old grandkids safely got the bat outside while I made toast and jam for our heroes!

Hi Viv! You are looking great! I love all the outfits you've made, but when you put on the leaf dress, I thought, "Oh WOW!" No grocery sac look there. A long time ago we moved to the city from the farm and brought out border collie with us. She was used to running free, so like you, there was a lot of walking. Race walking. One evening a retired gentleman was watering his flowers as we went by and he said, "I see your dog is taking you for a walk, again." I would switch the hand I held the leash with and in the end my wedding ring was warped into an oval shape. Thanks for the memories. She crossed the rainbow bridge a very long time ago, due to old age.🐈⬛🍁
Loved this story of your pup, Suzy. The days can be frenetic with a puppy but they’re also sweet, and time goes quickly. Zinnia has turned our world upside down, but gosh darn it we adore her!! Can’t believe that about your wedding ring!!

Vivian! I have been following you for a bit now, I am currently watching all 5years of your videos! I love your channel, and your humor without even trying! haha. My sister lives in Alexandria VA, she's a dog lover and she also turned 60 this year! I wonder if your paths have crossed! We are on the other side of the country in Las Vegas, NV. I showed my husband your Zinnia video, we are a 1 cat household, empty nesters and my Paul wants a dog someday soon again. I loved your story about Zinnia and how she's changed your lives! I loved to also hear you've painted your living room 9 times in the 21 years you've lived in your home, I have found new license ha! You've taught me so much and I have found more courage and inspiration to get sewing for myself (hardest thing for me to do). Thank you thank you for your channel! God Bless you :)

You are so right about patterns. For me I enjoy simple lines as you do and let your fabric choice do the talking. The lady who gave you advice about cooking meals at home sounds like my Mom. She ran a business, I was self employed and I used the same strategy to get me through the week to have home cooked meals on the table. It makes all the difference, and now my 40 year old daughter daughter cooks for her family. Love all your makes Viv, and the dress you made for the wedding is chic, comfortable and the fabric is lovely.
I use to watch your channel all the time never missing a new video but loss my husband of 31 years to stage four pancreatic cancer year and a half ago so was feeling down and have not sewn since but your video piped up today and I lit up ! Thank you just what I needed and going to get back into sewing again . Love watching all your new clothing and you look so beautiful in them you inspire me 💜

I love, love, love every single look on you! These clothes are so lovely and look really stunning on you. 💖 🏆 I felt like I was watching the Vivmom Sews Designer's line of new Fall Collection being modelled during Fashion Week. I'm so glad you decided to open the show with your ultra elegant mauve dress. You could wear this understated, while still looking sheik, even avante garde design any where. You do look like the very elegant, lovely lady that you are. This overall aesthetic comes through equally as breathtaking in your Art Deco blue rayon-crepe dress with such gorgeous oversized soft green leaves. Finishing the sleeve edges in blue velvet just took this look over the top.
I had to smile when you introduced your chic striped top and pants as being a wonderful outfit for going to the dog park. You are right you could where it there to walk Sinya and find yourself being whisked away for a trendy lunch with your handsome beau Brad. Your true "lunching outfit" is darling. I love the fabrics chosen and the style. In this understated apparrel, you look perfectly picturesque! Yes, I agree, you could dress it down with jeans and tying the blouse in the front looked fun. Yes, those leaves on your elegant dress are absolutely gorgeous. The simplicity of these lines make the dress quite the opposite to the sack you mentioned. Very Parisian with or without sneakers! Ending the show with a deep hunter green colored jumpsuit, made in Italian stretch denim, is an classy casual outfit! Putting on your dark green thin weighted long cardigan finished the look superbly. When you said goodbye, I thought you really could go anywhere feeling and looking wonderful! Thank you Vivian! You knocked it out of the park! The dressy striped walking outfit is just darling !! The cityscape blouse looks so easy and yet classy , the fabric is gorgeous. The easy dress is so cute and stylish. Winter is close, so I am going to be thinking of casual yet classy design ideas for flannels and sweater knits . The type you can be comfy indoors sewing, yet a quick run to town for thread doesn't require a wardrobe change. Enjoyed the show !!!

That Husky is on a mission all right! She’s got me spending more time outdoors in 3 months than I have in a year!!😵 And I’m finding that it’s good to be outdoors. We walked (and walked and walked) in the rain the other day and it was just so peaceful and nice. Go figure!!

I just love watching your podcasts. You have shown me that the choice in fabric can make a the difference in the appearance and outcome of a garment, regardless of the style of the pattern. Color Catcher is fabulous! I had a Christmas quilt I had made, left it on the covered patio and it got rain splashed on it. The backing fabric was a large candy can stripe so the dark red ran All over a the quilt. 😩 Color Catcher made it like new again! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I absolutely love the ribbon trim on the wedding guest dress! Wow! You had me at the way you arranged the stripes when it was hanging in the background on the dog walking outfit! Another WOW! I'm glad to hear that Quick Sew runs large, I thought it was me. Love the Lady's who lunch shirt. AND THEN WOW!!! Those Leaves ! The simplicity of the dress lets the fabric be the star. WOW!! It photographs amazingly! The boiler suit is cute! And the cardigan really steps it up. It looks dressy!! I am having to alter a vintage peasant blouse that had the elastic running through the neckline of the blouse and then had two ridiculously long ties attached to that. The elastic dried up and died, so I took it out and just sewed the ends of the ties together. They're still so long, you can gather the blouse off the shoulders and the ties nearly reach your waistband.
Everything you made is just gorgeous and amazing! It makes me want to sew something beautiful and flowy and WOW!
