It's sad how Rem said that his generations "Trinity" was equally, fraternity and liberty, and now is all about comfort, sustainability and security. I really dont like the other guys mentality. Architecture is all about the experience of space and light. New forms and material will come out of new technology, but architecture should not chase technology. Architecture shouldn't fetishize technology. Back before the days of the architect, people knew how to build their homes in accordance to their environment. It's just now we aren't designing for humans any more, we are designing for humans that may or may not be cogs in a global economy.

Rem Koolhaas is indeed a very interesting Architect because he's gone beyond the professional spectrum as far as merely building habitable structures- he's a thinker, a well articulated Architect with an unique approach to the profession combining other aspects of human interaction as far as social, economical, historical etc, to ultimately do Architecture related to those values.
