The World is Shocked : Japanese Supercarrier Coming Soon

  • The LDP notably called for a new carrier to be built with capabilities to attack enemy bases, and for the purchase of F-35B fighters to equip Izumo Class warships currently in service for such offensive operations. While Japan’s first conventional aircraft carrier is unlikely to be a fully fledged supercarrier, a warship displacing over 100,000 tons which are currently fielded only by the Untied States Navy, commissioning a medium sized carrier of approximately 70,000 tons similar to the Russian Kuznetsov Class, this could well be a stepping stone to commissioning larger carriers including supercarriers in future.

    • @fredhal8681
      @fredhal8681 6 років тому

      Militarised Japan may be something the US is increasingly becoming pushed to support owing to perceived threat from PRC who seems to have replaced the Soviet Union as the convenient bogeyman (Soviets had no intention of invading Western Europe and only after the fall did the western world realise the entire soviet arsenal was engineered for defensive action. Both sides were afraid of each other while they could have just talked it out like civilised adults but we're human and we're destined for misery.) PRC would hate this and may be forced to act aggressively to counter it. After all it is Japan that has the history of misuse of force on a GRAND scale. So grand the Americans justified the nuclear obliteration of Japanese citizens! PRC does not have anywhere near this level of historical precedence for aggression therefore to assume it is guilty before crimes are even committed is a serious insult to any intelligent human. We don't jail all males for rape because some men have been rapists.

      keith moore you are the idiot,who the hell do you think will be able to come to the aid of America when that lunatic Trump decides to start WWIII. If you think that without the use of Japanese bases and military support any coalition would not have any tactical base to try and stop China from taking over that whole region. Why don’t you try thinking before opening your mouth,try living in the present,the past is just that,the past. If you want to talk about the past,think of ALL the nations who carried out atrocities,like the settlers who tried to wipe out the indigenous native Americans,the Spanish who did wipe out the Incas,the British who enslaved who knows how many Africans,the French Revolution,The Germans and to a lesser extent the Italians,the killing fields of Cambodia,the many civil wars going on around the world,do I really need to go on. Nearly every nation that has or does exist today have committed plenty of atrocities and yet we as humans have never learnt from those actions and it continues very day. So if you want to put the world to rights,try actually doing something about it,instead of just whining like a little girl.

      Well, what I mean is that if you people want to remove the Chinese out the of the Spratly islands, go there yourself. If you want to start a war, go and fight first - but if your going to include me and the rest of the people of the country who doesn't give a fuck or two about those islands that disappears during high tide. We only want to live in peace doing our own business.
      I don't even understand what in the name of mother earth are you talking about but be proud? Be proud of what? That many of us still talks or even intervenes at the negotiation process between the governments involved but we can't even have a united stance against something as nation? Is that something to be proud of, that we talks about owning those rich damned islands yet we can't even expand our roads or even build subways, or worst, even find a remedy to our worsening infrastructure? Is that what you mean?

    They are LHDs (helicopter decks) not carriers. Australia has two that people keep calling carriers as well. The term 'mothership' is probably more apt than carrier as they are more of a littoral waters or 'green navy' vessel than a deep water vessel and can launch helicopters and in some cases landing craft. Yes, you could probably launch F-35Bs, except remember how much trouble they had with the decks on the USS America not being able to take the heat. I doubt you could launch many before your deck surface was ruined without spending big money on lengthy upgrades.

    The four vessels referred to in this video are classified by the JSDF as Helicopter Destroyers, they cannot operate jets without significant modification. The F-35A is the version that the JSDF is buying, a land based version that is not suited for Naval operations.

    Should probably take this with a huge helping of salt. The F-35A is the Air Force version that is not designed for taking off of a normal flightdeck and it would not be able to get off the Izumo-class. The F-35B is the one that Japan, if it were to, would get to operate off the Izumo-Class. That has STOVL capability, unlike the A or even the C (the Naval version designed for CATOBAR systems).

    I have to admit a complete and total hatred of WW2 era Japan,they were absolutely barbaric in the way they treated anyone who wasn't Japanese including my poor Grandfather who suffered horrendous treatment and injuries at their hands whilst "living" on caught insects and rain alone for nearly a year.He barely made it out alive and lost a leg and an arm to infection after both were badly broken as punishment for helping another seriously ill soldier who had also been punished for pinching a few spily grains of rice from the ground,the chap was been beaten sensless and had many open fractures but as an example was left to die a sickening death tied down in the exposed parade ground in tropical heat and humidity whilst lying in his own blood,vomit,excrement and massive clouds of insects eating him alive for three days before passing away.
    My Grandad said it was so traumatic to experience that it has always been the nightmare he woke up screaming with.
    That viewpoint will never leave my mind but in the current global climate and with modern day Japanese citizens, who I have the utmost respect for, they should 100% be able to protect and defend against threats without relying on others at least.
    For what it's worth the USA is far from a dying state.The latest f35 planes were initially designed in 1992 and the X35 proto flew in 2000.
    Since that time I'm pretty sure they didn't just say "that's that then we've built the F35 let's go fishing" and have been quietly developing next generation weapon platforms if any of the myriad of exotic craft photographed across the US,UK,Europe and Australia etc are anything to go by over the last decade or so.
    Good luck Japan.

    • @fredhal8681
      @fredhal8681 6 років тому

    • @fredhal8681
      @fredhal8681 6 років тому

      Yes the Soviets did play up the threat they pose more than western Europe but pretty much played the same rhetoric the Americans used. I guess both sides believed in hyping up their own abilities to keep each other at bay. Japan can produce enriched uranium and they certainly have the technical capability to become a military "superpower" if they were allowed to. Of course this will take many decades but they have the work ethic, intelligence, and organisation to get there without much trouble. The only things standing in the way is article 9 of their own constitution and PRC. US is not really in their way at all. For better or worse, we will all see the outcome of US persisting on calling China an evil regime (this is done indirectly but overtly enough to have this effect). This is only the Asian context but relevant to this discussion. The militarisation of any nation is really against the interest of the common people because it provides a venue of resolving disputes using violence and force. PRC is admittedly militarising itself but most reasonable people can see this is more so a response to the centuries of violence it suffered at the hands of foreigners (particularly Japan in 20th century ... empirically the most devastating). Therefore this is understandable even if it is wrong on principle. Communism killing x millions is propaganda. If that line is to be entertained then Capitalism and Imperialism has killed many times more therefore more evil? Also Mao did not go around shooting Chinese citizens in the head like the quotes would have people believe. It had much more to do with mismanagement by despotic and inexperienced leaders who replaced the previous generations of incompetent leaders. Deaths from famine while tragic, is not the same as millions being murdered.

    • @fredhal8681
      @fredhal8681 6 років тому

      Perhaps but Mao had far more to lose if he intentionally starved his own people. He had literally nothing to gain. Therefore it is reasonable to assume it was not done out of spite and for no reason. That would be idiotic for everyone involved. Stalin purged differently and starving people also was more unintentional than not. At least on the grand scale of things. Similarly Kim in NK is not doing that on purpose. He'd have far more credibility to gain from his own people and from abroad if he didn't starve anyone. The fact that anti-communist propaganda uses this is very dishonest and manipulative. That is the real brainwashing. But I'm not condoning Communism, just making a point for the truth.

    This is NOT a "Super-carrier". It is a nice LPH-type carrier. It has NO catapults, NO ski-jump, NO arresting-gear. It can only handle a limited number of VTOL aircraft. It has limited point-defense capabilities, and it is conventionally powered. It is a defensive platform, in keeping with the mandates of the "self-Defense-Force" limitations. Somebody wanted to spew hyperbolae and get folks revved-up, so bend-over and take your high-colonic reality enemas.
