This is freaking awesome there's nothing like especially for you guys as age I'm not saying there's nothing bad there but it's really really cool to see two you know mid-age gentlemen out there just hanging out having a damn good time
If you like these, you'll love the Traction Hobby 1/8 rigs. I have the Cragsman Jeep.. They're 4S capable with a Hobbywing 880 ESC with a big 775 motor, have locking diffs, 2 speed & have metal axles.! They're very durable too.!
Putting that Cross through the stress test! Looks like a fun rig, Cross definitely has some good looking body options. I just mounted their JT4 body on my mullet build. Sacrificing a chunk of performance for a 600 gram body but it sure looks good 😁. Fun to see you showing someone new to crawling how it's done. It's a different kind of challenge from the go-fast stuff and really fun!
Right on! I'm looking forward to when Vas publishes his video from the day, too. He 'got' crawling after this. Had a big smile on his face. We're gonna hang out again soon, it was a good morning.
Thank You Craig for getting Vas into crawling. He's resisted going down that path for a while lol. A good set of wheels/Tyres and proper 2 stage foams, or Anti-foams will help the big rig tremendously. Awesome honest review of the MJX. As a 1/10th crawler fan myself of about 6 years, I was very tempted in getting the Cross RC X2. Do love my RC's in bigger sizes. SCX-6 is pushing it though lol. Epic..looking forward to you guys doing more vids together.
It was a really fun time out, we're both looking forward to more 👍 I've told him I have a great set of wheels and tires that will transform the allrock if he has the chance to drive with us again. Fun times!
That was a 2 for 1 review! And got someone else in the hobby! Brilliant! Loved the gate design for the tow reminded me of those I saw on older American movies. Have never seen then in real life or currently. Being an older style truck it fit it perfectly as a scale detail. The MJX Trx4 wannabe fell a bit short especially for the price, but maybe MJX are just trying to get their feet on it. Maybe their next try will be a more committed, and original one.
It's a really fun rig. Durable, too - rear axle breakage notwithstanding. I really did punish it and regret not getting the silly big air on camera. Had a lot of fun with it!
Two of my favourite RC channels doing a collaboration! Both of your channels are the best and most insightful in your respective driving genres. Are there plans to do more videos together in the future? 👍👍
That's awesome, thank you! And yep, just gotta get our schedules to align. We've tried a couple of times already to bash together but our availability is kinda exactly opposite! I'd like to try flying with Vas too, that'd be cool. Cheers for that.
@Warby1 yeah, a mate has one. They're pretty sweet. Though the new x4 arguably looks even better. Whichever one grabs you, the entire cross rc 1/8 range is just amazing. Great value, durable, decent enough electronics. Really only the tires are a bit of a weak point as far as crawling goes, and they're not terrible, just a bit ordinary. Can't argue with the value, they're great machines, all said!
It's actually a dam and yes, it's a fantastic place! Our club will hold a weekend crawl comp there in November. There's a caravan/camping park 5 minutes' walk from the place, too. We can do a night run along the river as well, on Saturday night. Will be excellent 😁
I've had my EMO for about 3 months. Threw in a HW Axe system in it and its insane. Super slow crawl, and on 6s its basher fast! Its an absolute beast. Was on Cross RC's website the other day, and they currently have the EMO XL6 on sale in the US for $499! Same price as a TRX4 in the US! Ordered one up. They are such a beast of a crawler. I'd love an SCX6 some day, but I do like the features of lockable/unlockable diffs, whereas the Axial doesnt have that right? Once again, great vid my friend. I have told a few friends of mine about your channel and told them to sub! BTW, thanks for the 3D file for the tow truck mod, I will be printing this week!
I love everything you just said. Thanks, nice find, and glad you're enjoying it all! A friend of mine bought the 6x6 and threw an Axe into it, he's really happy with it. Can't argue with the price, eh! Cheers
This a great video. I enjoyed that it was spontaneous since your truck broke. I learned a lot. It's good to get the perspective of a competition driver like yourself. I enjoyed the conversation between you two. After I watched this video I went to another UA-camr, Derby City RC, and watched his video of the MJX. He's very thorough in his coverage of the truck and his test was from the perspective of the way many people would drive the truck. It held up well. I think your view is vitally important, because some people may think, "I can compete with this rig." That's why UA-cam is so good.
Just found this channel. I really like the way you break things down. I'm in the states and I've ordered the MJX H8H (all rock) and still waiting for delivery from Ali. It's $412 USD, that includes tax & shipping. Keep in mind shipping is taking over a month. So we'll see how I like it. Keep up the great work!!
Nice video. I’ve only recently discovered your channel and am enjoying it! New subscriber. I’ve just bought the h8h along with the upgraded metal axles and wheels. The added low down weight and better tyres totally transform the truck and really make it a fun do everything vehicle. I know you’re just reviewing the stock vehicle but I wish they hadn’t shipped it with those stock wheels and tyres because it’s way too top heavy and the tyres don’t grip. My only gripe now is that the Upgraded metal axles come with 17mm hexes which makes wheel choices quite limited so it looks like I’m stuck with the ones it came with for now.
Yeah this one did need the centre of gravity addressed. Good job. 17mm hexes, eh? I just looked on AliExpress for 2.2 wheels with 17mm hubs but only could find 2.6 - you could still stretch 2.2 tires over a 2.6 wheel and they'd just look a shade fatter. May improve performance, indeed. Depends on the tire, probably.
They do seem quite expensive across the pond, yeah. We get Asian brands cheaper here, while we pay through the nose for USA brands. Makes sense really!
The tow truck looks the part for sure but limited use because any rig livery like jurrasuc park, or police theme etc only look interesting but it won't be your go to truck in most cases, mine for sure. Too pricy for occasional fun even if you upgrade it.. like an FMS version of the scx6. Looks the part. Thanks for your consistent and cerebral reviews. 👍
The flashing police lights are optional. Also has high beam, low beam, and flashing. I think the livery on this one is pretty legit - and you can remove stickers too, of course. I like this range of vehicles, I reckon they're making pretty decent stuff these days! Cheers
I know this is kinda off topic to the video but I thought I'd let you know, the 4th Greek Mythos book from Stephen Fry is coming out this October "The Odyssey'. I remember you mentioning his 1st mythos book way back in one of your videos. Cheers 😊😊
I wonder if that tow truck bed would fit on either of the TRX6 platforms? I've got the G63 that i never drive and have been looking for ideas to turn it into something more interesting. An OBS Ford or square body cab with that bed would definitely be more interesting.

After putting 2 full battery's through my 6x6 I've decided to go brushless, haha 😅 Just ordered a Holmes hobbies puller pro from the sale they had on, and going to run it off a Mamba X esc
@RCTNT should be good, gone with a 2200kv and going to fit the smallest pinion that will fit! Got a puller pro In my axial ryft and that thing's a beast haha
I think you'll be happy, yeah! My Emo x3 was running a 2700 with stock gearing the day you saw it launching out at the dam. You may find a 2200 with the stock pinion size works well too.
@RCTNT ah righto 🤔 maybe I'll try stock pinion first, and see how that goes.. or just go smallest pinion and if it's to slow, I can always run it on 4s to go fast haha 😅🤣
Hi mate loving the channel. Quick question: Just ordered metal axles from Ali Ex for my SCX10III Early Bronco. Do you know if the gears and internal components are directly interchangeable with the Axial stuff? Cheers
Without more info I really can't say. I can tell you these things generally are compatible, at least. On Ali, look at the Description and look closely - you might be able to see for yourself. Sometimes there are dimensions shown, too. The other place to look is the Reviews for that product. If it doesn't fit, people will generally tell the world about it!
@RCTNT Cheers mate yes I have watched a bunch of reviews and seems they are decent and reliable but internal interchangeability wasn't covering but I'd say will be fine. Was just thinking of using the Axial gears as they might be better but I'll learn all this through the experience I'd say. Cheers

No worries. I'll try to grab one but even if I can't (or at least, in time for you), there are still plenty of other legit youtube people doing their thing, I'd expect. Tomley can miss some details that I want to know about on crawlers specifically, but that's not his thing and that's fine, we all have our specialities. But this MJX is a basher and for faster stuff he'd be a quality source of info about a car. Better than me for experience with fast stuff for sure - but I'll give it the treatment too, if I can get one. Cheers
@@RCTNT I have the 14th scale basher from mjx and also the drift truck from them as well and they take an absolute beating I’m expecting the 1/10 to be the same 😊
They've got a brilliant platform in the smaller scale haven't they. Just excellent. Time will tell for the bigger one! (Their crawler missed the mark a bit IMO, but it's not a long way from being good. Just needs some tweaks).

The rear springs on the Emox3 are too soft.....that's my only negative feedback......massive sagging when towing
They need wrong/stiffer rear coils given its a tow truck, I agree. Preload only does so much!
I removed my AR tyres using a hair dryer
Oh yeah? Nice, heat doesn't always seem to work for me. Maybe a variance in the glue they use, who knows. Glad you had success!
@@RCTNT did it with Super Swampers on plastic rims as well.
