woah I didn't expect that your description will be so close to what I feel about work for the last year or so. I'm super frustrated about it and I can't keep up anymore, but I need to keep going to satisfy my clients, but life feel super empty and pointless because all I'm doing is music and it's what I was dreaming of, but it's super hard, and I'm very distant from music and just going on autopilot. Seems like there's no way to break this loop that I'm in, until my clients will just stop putting up with delays and leave.
I feel that, dude. Sounds like you may need to step away for a short while and reconnect with why you're doing what you're doing. I remember we talked about you raising your rates to start filtering out clients you don't want to work with, have you tried that yet?
@@TheRealStevenWard thanks for remembering that! yeah, I've started to give higher rates to clients with less attractive or more complex propositions. about half of them declines, but I actually feel a relief when that happens. unfortunately i'm in a very bad living situation, so i can't step away because i need to make money now more than ever. thanks a lot for your reply, i really appreciate that!
@6ound Studio I definitely understand not being able to take time away. Bills gotta get paid. If you can check out a book called Effortless by Greg McKeown. It has some great advice and systems for not burning out in it you might find useful. I know I did.

Damn bro! Heartfelt words. Been there, done that...... been there again .. It is a huge and difficult step to take control over yourself when you're down and out. In these times it is the weight in gold to have family and friends to support your way back up and onto the right path. Well done!! I just discovered your channel, and now I subscribe. I feel you! Having my own business while being an engineer plus recording artist.. I forgot what sleep is, or what days off are. I had some momentary burn out. It happens. Never stopped me in the long run, but no yeah, take care of yourself and have your priorities straight. Health 1st.
