Hey my cat also just suffered catastrophic kidney failure costing me $8,000, pennies for his life. I got very lucky. Fun fact the life saving surgery preformed on him was essentially a sex change. Trans cat.

I'm crying over this cat I have never met and has no idea who I am, but I love that big orange dumbass so much. He's such a cutie and he makes me smile every time he comes on the stream. I hope all our love can reach him and he's all better soon!
My cat once got himself poisoned with lilies and his kidneys were shutting down. I sit in a vet clinic with this idiot for two days while he was freaking out in an oxygen camera with everything possible hooked up to him. Doctors thought he wasn't gonna make it, he's old and has a heart disease but he slowly got better and now is fine. It was expensive but I love this dumbass.
Vaush, there's no shame in getting sappy over your child almost dying, human child or not 😿 I'm so glad that Artemy's doing better! I'm sending good vibes for a full recovery 💖
I'm so sorry for your loss. My family lost our dog of 11 years this summer and while it wasn't unexpected, it was still so devastating. I'm sure your little bundle of fluff was a very lucky one to have someone who loved them so much.
@WishGender damn were in the exact same boat i also lost my family dog of 11 years this summer. im sorry for your loss it really is devastating losing a pet
That’s not how that works. Clearly there’s a kidney ghost that is haunting each cats kidneys in succession and will slowly grow stronger until it infects vouch himself
Him seeing you made him feel better, 100%. My first dog waited to die until I could come see him. Within 10 minutes of me getting into town and seeing him, he was gone. Waiting for me. It's not sentimental. Animals are VERY attracted to us.
Kidney stones in cats especially male cats is super terrifying. One of my friends lost one of her cats because he had kidney stones and they literally caused a blockage in his urethra and he died from infection. I hope Artemy has a Swift and full recovery. And get him on some kidney food that specifically is supposed to help reduce the occurrence of kidney stones.
Damn, I was worried about the kitty when you didn't stream after the vet like you said you were intending to, and the for the next few days. Really glad to hear he seems to have pulled through, but that must have been scary for you. Hope everything continues to get better.
I’m a Vet Tech at an ER. If a Vet says your male cats have kidney issues, get them on a Prescription Cat food. It’s expensive, but it will save you money and years down the road. We get male cats in ALLLL the time like this. When you said “vomiting everywhere” the first thing I thought was “obstruction” like he ate something like a toy. Or “bladder/kidney issues”.
Yeah i was gonna say, im sure they're already planning on it now, but even as a preventative- just put your male cats on kidney health food. Heard of way too much of these cases through the grapevine. We actually just put our dog on prescription hypoallergenic food to save money because we could barely afford his all-too-frequent cytopoint shots, and hes already 1 mil times better. Preventative care is so much better for the owner and the animal. So much less of a rollercoaster
My family's cat who actually looked a lot like Artemy (but skinny) passed away in 2015 at the age of 18 from kidney failure. His name was Morgan and I miss him every day, even almost 10 years later Best wishes to Artemy! He's very loved and a truly special lil guy
Here's hoping Artemy gets through this strong. I was getting choked up a bit hearing about how he almost died. I hope Artemy is around for many more years to come
As someone who’s lost a lot of animals (foster care can be a nightmare), I kind of guessed there was an emergency. If you’re not grimly used to these kinds of visits, it can be a massive weight where you can’t focus on anything else. All you can do is look to the trends and take heart in the positives and accept the negatives. Good luck, and I’m glad to hear it’s trending positive so far.

Vaush is right Being surrounded by those who love you and care about you (Friends and/or family) is a good thing during medical issues it keeps the patient in a healthy mental state which can help them stay calm and heal. This is why even though i don't like religion I don't have a problem personally with prayer circles for someone who is in surgery. When my father had to have a relatively invasive surgery his employer and thier family all came together in the hospital waiting room and started praying for him once the surgery began and they didn't stop until he was out of surgery and in the recovery ward. They ended up praying for 5 hours and I think my dad knowing he had so many people thinking about him helped keep his mental state healthy and helped him heal better

Never though I'd have such a strong parasocial relationship with a cat, but here we are. Take care of the lil' fella. Glad to hear he is doing better. Was genuinely worried
Ive recently become a cat parent by taking in my mom's cat. I understand what you mean when you say everyone thinks their cat is special. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for Artemy!! A Christmas miracle 🙏🏻
Sorry to hear about Artemy. Here's to a speedy recovery! Had some serious emergencies with my own pets that went both ways so condolences for the fear and stress even if he will be okay in the end.
I'm very glad to hear he got through this. My first cat recently passed at 17 (made a dono mentioning this, thanks again for the kind words) and his scare from acting weak and not eating turned out to be hyperthyriodism and early kidney disease. Vet said it would be a toss up to what killed him first. Methimozole bought me another year and a half with him, but I was preparing for it the entire time. I hope you get many more years with Artemy.
One of our boys had a similar scare but pulled through and now they are all on veterinary urinary cat food and its been 5 years now and they are all happy and healthy. The food is very expensive compared to other cat food you can get at a normal store $100 vs $30 but it has been 100% worth it.
I’m so glad Artemy’s ok!! I was pretty concerned when stream ended and Vaush didn’t come back like he said he was going to. I’m just happy to hear it’s getting positive and not the other way. Feel better, Artemy! 😊
My cat has also been going through it right now, pissing everywhere, constantly hungry. Idk why but sick cats are one of the most difficult animals to deal with. They’re so independent until they’re not anymore so it hits so much harder.
Artemy gave the bestest Xmas present ever! Cat pee 😅 Seriously though I hope everything continues to trend well. Give the baby hugs from us. ❤ Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
Get well soon Artemy 🐈🧡 I had a similar scare with my cat Jaime. The story is almost the same, just different medical issue. So I feel for you and yours in this situation. Merry Christmas, and here’s hoping the worst is over ☺️
I hope the best for artemy, I really do believe your presence (or any of artemys loved ones) really did help him pissing, and i really do believe by your presence and giving strength will help a lot for artemy to go thru it. Stay strong ❤
Also for you or anyone else if you can still get the surgery, get it. It can prevent it from happening again and change his kitty diet. This is fairly common in male cats sadly. Happened to two of mine. One made it one didnt. And avoid dry food.
Dude! I've been so worried about Artemy! Thank you for the update and Artemy has all my prayers and positive vibes and good energy. Happy holidays y'all. Stay safe and I love y'all ❤️ I love you Artemy ❤❤❤
Glad to hear Artemy is recovering. My dog also had high calcium and microscopic crystals in her urine. To protect her kidneys from calcification, my vet put her on a prescription diet that is low in calcium and magnesium. It is called Royal Canin Urinary SO. It's also made for cats and available as either wet or dry food. This may be a good preventative option for Artemy to prevent further calcifications from forming.
For anyone reading this with cats who have been told they have high calcium or crystals in urine: we totally stopped giving our cats dry food except sometimes we use them as treats. Even urinary care dry food is no good for cats with crystals in the urine. We were told that even the cheapest shittiest wet food was better under all circumstances than even the best most expensive dry food. We also were told to try using distilled water mixed with their wet food to get them extra water to dissolve the excess minerals. As always consult your vet but this has worked wonderfully for our little guys as both a mitigation and prevention method
My kitty of ten years just had his last day yesterday. End-stage kidney disease. Glad to hear Artemy made it through his issues, and you get another (and hopefully many more) Christmas with him :)
As someone that had to put their cat down over the past 2 weeks after a very sudden turn, I am glad to hear that Artemy is doing better. I hope he continues to do well ❤
Thanks for sharing about Artemy. I hope he'll be back home and feeling a lot better soon! 💜 My fat, dumb cat recently started vomiting several times a day and acting very sickly over the course of like a week and a half. The local vet couldn't figure out what it was and we had to take him to a pet hospital in a bigger city for scans. They told us he might have a tumor in his gut. Turns out (after several scans and general anesthesia) he had a straw of grass lodged in his nose and it was tickling his air ways, causing irritation and infection. Cost us $2000 for the whole ordeal (we have excellent insurance though cause he's always getting into fights with the neighbor cat and needing to get patched up). They also happened to discover that he's got a bunch of kidney stones and now he's on a special diet. What you just told about Artemy makes me extra thankful they caught my kitty's kidney issues early-ish. 💜 So thank you for the TMI. Sending love and well wishes to you and your cat fam.💜
Been in this exact situation with one of my cats several years ago. He pulled through and is now a fat and happy old man. Hoping Artemy pulls through, healing thoughts and vibes to the little buddy!
Hoping Artemy gets better soon. My sweet cat and I are thinking of him. All pets are special, we all care deeply for our own furry friends, and for yours as well
I never comment on videos anywhere, for any reason, but I wanted to say that I am happy to hear the situation seems to be improving. I lost my own Orange Idiot Kitty shortly after last Christmas, due to similar health issues. I hope the trend continues until he can come home, and continues to be happy and healthy for years more. Well wishes, and Merry Christmas.
Glad to hear he's recovering! From what I researched about 3 years ago when my cat got kidney stones problems while not being even 1 year old yet, there are 2 types of cat kidney stones, struvites and oxalates. Struvites (magnesium and phosphate) tend to be an issue for younger and female cats. Special vet diets that aim to dissolve then prevent repeated occurrence of such stones will usually mention it being low in magnesium and phosphate/phosphorus, as well as turning the cat pee more acid, both of which are good to prevent struvites. Meanwhile oxalates (formed from calcium) form more in older and male cats, with those stones the diet lowering magnesium and phosphate will not do much obviously and acidifying cat pee is actually a risk factor for oxalate formation so unfortunately the anti-struvite and anti-oxalate diets are not entirely compatible. So this might be why he ended up with stones despite already being on a stone managing diet, he got unlucky by being sensitive to The Other Stone. Edit: my cat threw up while I typed this
As someone who's a big softie for my cats, this is really heart-warming and I'm glad Artemy is improving, I hope he pulls through And as a vet, not just sayin this, honestly him relaxing with you very possibly did help him pee finally. Cats are so notorious for their stress-induced urinary inflammation and 99% of the time we have cats hospitalized for whatever reason they just hold it cuz they hate not being home and the hospital is a stressful environment. Also as a vet I'm sorry for what I'm sure have been some painful numbers to look at during checkout, but I can tell you they'll almost certainly let you have your trousers back.
Omg so I can completely relate to that with one of my cats. Both of which are female. My wife and I found our first at about a year old and got her spayed after having her for a year at the recommendation of the vet. The experience for us felt very traumatic not just for our baby but for us as well and left me feeling a great deal of guilt over the decision for quite a while after. So fast forward a few months later and we end up taking in our second stray after we found her emaciated very ill and needing emergency care near or after midnight leaving us with very few options in places to take her and having to scrounge up some 600 or so dollars from multiple sources that we were lucky enough to have at the time. Following all that and getting her all her shots and whatnot, we decide ok we're not going to put her through the horrible experience of a spay after having googled a bit more on the risks of not doing so and going off my childhood memory of having a female cat that I know my parents never did that with and her living for around 14 or so years. Well another year passes and no issues present until yet again late one night we find out second fuzz baby is in our spare bedroom, very lethargic, very ill and there's blood. A lot. On the floor, on a pillow and only a small bit on the rear side of the base of her tail and we immediately head to that same emergency vet panicked that she's eaten something that wasn't food and think she's gonna die. Turns out, that our brief googling should've been more persistent and as the original vet who treated our first kitty had only given us the into that the biggest concern for not spaying an indoor cat was the possibility of elder age cancer wasn't the full scope of issues that can happen. Seeing as (and this is to put it in a way that let me better understand the situation that happened that night) cats when they're not spayed and not mating will go through a menstruation like situation that in many cases won't expel the blood and utereran lining (partially to do with their being quadrupedal) and all that will stay inside them and become infected and fill their uterus even more with pus, which can kill them if they're unable to expel it, or like in our case will need emergency spay with the complication of removing the pus and blood filled uterus without it leaking and causing even further infection. Luckily even while we did still have the emergency spay that night, our baby had managed to expel all the blood and stuff out in the room where we had found her in that state. Avoiding that greater risk of complications and also reducing our cost from over 1k to about around $400 or something like that. Tldr: spay your indoor kitty fuzz babies or risk losing them even if you pay over a grand to save them with an emergency surgery. AKA female cat's reproduction set up is uniquely evil from the perspective of an owner who has next to no knowledge of feline biology. Lol
My childhood cat had a lot of issues with his urethra getting blocked which the vet said is common amongst orange cats. It kept happening over and over. We made the decision to wait one more night to see if it cleared up or we would have to put him down because it was getting expensive and he was in pain a lot. It cleared up before we left the vets office. They found a food that has worked to keep his urethra from being blocked. He is 18 now, perfectly healthy, and hasn't had a problem since. There might be something that can work for Artemy too.
Kidney/urinary issues in cats are terrifying. Artemy's a good boi. ETA: oh yeah, I agree that being comfy with his people, probably helped a lot. I've worked as a vet assistant and comfort goes a LONG way towards moving all the numbers into normal ranges. 🥰
Boy cats are notorious for having urinary tract issues. Mine gave us a scare this year too. He would howl in pain whenever he would try to use the litter box. Took him to the vet and he was starting to form bladder crystals. Now we feed him a special food and make sure we don’t give him tap water. Our water is full of calcium and it could make him develop more crystals.
I hope all goes well for Artemy. My cat had a health scare also. She started peeing on the bed a few months ago and, first I found out she had FLTD, then she stopped eating and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which she is still being treated for. I have to take her back to the vet for an update in a few weeks. Cats do have white blood cells, they were a little worried about her white blood cell count and when they tested her, thankfully found out she was negative for cancer.
Glad he's okay. Also, it's alright to take a break from streaming without pretending it's for a cough or whatever. Be up front about it. Happy holidays.
Glad to see Artemy like all true proletarians immediately pissed upon seeing healthcare prices.

Glad to hear Artemy made it through his issues, and you get another (and hopefully many more) Christmas with him :)
so proud of the big boy. happy holidays to him and everyone around him
Love Artemy. I truly hope and pray he comes back healthy and soon. I'm a big cat lover and know how scary it all is. Take care of yourselves.
As someone that had to put their cat down over the past 2 weeks after a very sudden turn, I am glad to hear that Artemy is doing better. I hope he continues to do well ❤
Thanks for sharing about Artemy. I hope he'll be back home and feeling a lot better soon! 💜
My fat, dumb cat recently started vomiting several times a day and acting very sickly over the course of like a week and a half.
Wishing artemy good health, love that big boi
I really hope Artemy gets well soon. ❤
Merry Christmas nonetheless, Vaush. 🎄
Glad Artemy is better! Let's hope this Christmas miracle continues ❤️💚
Hoping Artemy gets better soon. My sweet cat and I are thinking of him. All pets are special, we all care deeply for our own furry friends, and for yours as well
I recently lost my cat to this same scenario but it didn’t end well :(
I’m wishing the best for Artemis 💚🙏🏼
We love Artemy ❤
Please keep Artemy updates on the main channel that’s who we’re all really here for.
It’s so hard 😢I lost my baby of 16 years at the end of October. I hope he feels well soon ❤
I lost my doggo during Thanksgiving break 😢 he was 14.
Edit: my cat threw up while I typed this
Lost my best bud to bladder stones, I didn't get to him in time. Keep an eye on him brother.
Sorry to hear about Artemy... My 9 cats and me are sending you our best wishes and an easy recovery... Cats are strong, I'm sure it'll all be ok.
I got to be honest, this might be one of the most important videos on this channel 😂
Poor baby get well soon ❤️
As someone who's a big softie for my cats, this is really heart-warming and I'm glad Artemy is improving, I hope he pulls through
And as a vet, not just sayin this, honestly him relaxing with you very possibly did help him pee finally.
Really glad to hear Artemy is doing better. Here's to a full recovery!
Kidney/urinary issues in cats are terrifying. Artemy's a good boi. ETA: oh yeah, I agree that being comfy with his people, probably helped a lot. I've worked as a vet assistant and comfort goes a LONG way towards moving all the numbers into normal ranges. 🥰
All Cats Are Beautiful
I try not to be parasocial but it is genuinely good to hear that Artemy is doing okay. Best of luck to him during his recovery.
Artemy fans keep winning!!111!!!!
Happy holidays
So happy for u Vaush. Hope he makes it ❤❤❤
