Another great Hamercopia of Knowledge tonight. The content of the lecture was excellent. Thank you once again to John and everyone at Centre Place for bringing these to us. Can't wait for the next one.
I believe in a higher power but don’t believe in religion. I listen to your lectures and enjoy them over and over again. I appreciate the amount of work you put into this.
John, thank you again for this great talk. I do want to point out though two things that are not clear to people who read the Bible in translation: 1. Ezekiel mentions Dan-El and not Daniel. Dan-El was a famous legendary canaanite king known for his wisdom. The translator didn't know him anymore, so he wrote Daniel. 2. In Daniel it says Bar Anash and not Ben Adam, meaning son of Enosh. Enosh also is synonymous with man, but there's possibly a reason for this choice.
I came here to say this. Specifically, Dan-el was a king of Ugarit. Many scholars believe that Ezekiel's quote was misread by scribes as Daniel, and this was put in Jesus' mouth, so He was not saying that Daniel was a wise judge.
Another small thing: bel and baal are etimologically connected. Both mean "lord". In Hebrew, baal means lord too, but it gradually evolved to mean "husband", so the Jewish god is Adonay which means my lord. In all these religions, the main god's name was too sacred to be pronounced. Bel is actually Marduch, baal is hadad and adonay is yahweh.
Thank you Dr. Hamer. I attended a crusade in the early to mid 90s when the preacher said God showed him the time in heaven and it was 5 minutes to midnight, midnight being the end of the world. There was a later exposition on the book of Daniel where the anointed one being cut off was said to be Jesus. According to the exposition, the rededication of the temple will happen when Israel rebuilds the temple, and the temple will be rebuilt with fabricated materials. So once the temple is rebuilt and redidicated, the end will come. So you're right that the recalculation continues to happen even till today.
At around 1:15 in the lecture I don't get how the 434 years takes us to 171 bc; if I back up 434 yrs from 171bc I am around 605 bc, 70 years before the decree that starts the countdown
While I do not agree with the point of view of view of the community these lectures come from, as a presentation of the current state of understanding regarding the truth of biblical history, I find Dr. Hamer knowledgable and thourough in his presentation of the facts and related insights. I do think that there were and are authentic prophets in the Judeo-Christian history... I have had a number of personal experiences with this phenomenon... however, it does require careful discernment, as Paul cautions his Corinthian community. He says that despite its difficulties, prophecy or hearing from God is essential to the life and upbuilding of the community.
Do modern Bibles reference the fourth man as the “Son of God?” If I’m not mistaken this same thing happens in the story of Jacob where some interpretations Jacob wrestles with an “Angel of the Lord” and some with God himself?
Trying to discuss faith, religion, and spirituality can be vary difficult sometimes, especially when dealing with young minds. I watch these videos with my 11 y.o niece as a nice way to introduce her to this beautiful faith. Christianity at its root I think is redemption through God’s grace. God values the heart the loves and cares for others as much as he desires love and devotion. Thank you, god bless
if you want to teach your child about christianity, watching youtube videos from Mormons probably isnt the best way to do it. these guys are jaded because thier religion is theologically bankrupt, and whatever last church they were associated with told em to get lost
@@GhostScout42I feel like this is unfair. This lecturer has proven time and again that he remains impartial and objective to his highest ability, and open with any biases he might have. There is very little of his theology involved in these lectures, and i’ve watched almost all of them.
@@GhostScout42 Christians are often wrong about the technicalities and historical context of their religion, because those aren't a requirement of the faith. If I want to understand the technicalities and historical context, I will go to a scholar. If I want to know that individual Christian's specific beliefs (often heretical), I'll ask a Christian. Of course, someone can be both, and many Christians can give the scholarly answers, but being Christian isn't a requirement of understanding the history of the faith.
I wonder if the erroneous lecture title is actually an act of protest? I mean why hasn’t the error been corrected? On the other hand, I bet the erroneous title attracted hella tragic to the website….
that folk way you say Enoch and Ba'al are the same as Evangelical southerners from Alabama say those names. those are the two i never understood because the pronunciations dont match sounding the words out. Baal is Ba'al, or Bah-All (which just means the mighty god). IDK where saying Enoch like "*Einick*" comes from lol. My theory is that the bible study movement somewhat knew Hebrew stuff, and that the "EL" in names means god. So saying it as Bell makes me think that maybe they were saying it like Ba'el with that knowledge but... who knows
