Trenton is the capital city of the U.S. state of New Jersey, the county seat of Mercer County and was the capital of the United States from November 1 to December 24, 1784.[20][21] The city's metropolitan area, consisting of Mercer County, is grouped with the New York Metropolitan Area by the United States Census Bureau, but it directly borders the Philadelphia metropolitan area and was from 1990 until 2000 part of the Philadelphia Combined Statistical Area.[23] As of the 2020 U.S. census, Trenton had a population of 90,871, making it the state's 10th-largest municipality.
Trenton dates back at least to June 3, 1719, when mention was made of a constable being appointed for Trenton while the area was still part of Hunterdon County. Boundaries were recorded for Trenton Township as of March 2, 1720. A courthouse and jail were constructed in Trenton around 1720, and the Freeholders of Hunterdon County met annually in Trenton.
Trenton received its first Postmaster in 1764. On November 25, 1790, the Trenton became New Jersey's capital, and by November 13, 1792 the City of Trenton was formed within Trenton Township. Trenton Township was incorporated as one of New Jersey's initial group of 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. On February 22, 1834, portions of Trenton Township were taken to form Ewing Township. The remaining portion of Trenton Township was absorbed by the City of Trenton on April 10, 1837. A series of annexations took place over a 50-year period, with the city absorbing South Trenton (April 14, 1851), portions of Nottingham Township (April 14, 1856), both the Borough of Chambersburg Township, and Millham Township (both on March 30, 1888), as well as Wilbur Borough (February 28, 1898). Portions of Ewing Township and Hamilton Township were annexed to Trenton on March 23, 1900.

Wow, I really enjoyed the "ride along through my birth place. I was born in Trenton, NJ on 4/9/46. I'm a 1964 Trenton Central High School Alum. I love this video and I love my city. "As I rode along with you" in my mind, I realized how much I miss Cook Elementary School as you dove down East State St. On every street you drove I immediately thought about the beautiful people I know there now or grew up with back in the 50's & 60's. Trenton was and is a multicultural community. I hope someone do a video on that aspect of Trenton. I have adult children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren living there. I was very pleased to see revitalization taking place there. I would really hope to see a Skyline go up downtown, bring back movie theaters and other entertainment places there. Currently, I spend most of my retirement life in Southeast Asia and they have Skylines all over the place over here. Again, thank you for a wonderful video peak into Trenton. Take care and stay safe 🙏❤️

This is great. I was born and raised in Trenton almost half my life (have been gone for many years now) and this fascinates me. And the quality of the video is marvelous. Thank you so much for this.

For a long time my visits to Trenton left me bewildered and directionless, had to GPS my way out of there. Lately a major grid understanding is forming and I’m linking concepts. I cross the Trento Makes bridge and go right at the light onto Bridge St and on up to S Broad, follow that up to where it widens and get fuel for a really good price.
This video begins going bac from there all the way to Calhoun St and I know a left gets another bridge. Thank you for the reinforcements. 💪🙏

You drove past 3 different spots I used to live in as a young adult. Trenton really is pretty unique in that there will be an entire stretch of road that is completely safe for blocks. But on the side streets and parallel roads, you shouldn't even stop at red lights.

@29:11 I get my wish - a nice view of the New Jersey State House Dome. Several seconds later we get Barrack St - I love that name - and a pedestrian, "who all of a sudden quickly crosses the road."

Trenton looks like one of those cities that was actually nice pre-white flight like the 50’s. I like that I’m seeing some revitalization.
Note the plate at 27:24 KILYIAH as in “I’m going to Kill Yah “ 😂 What a bunch of friendly people
