I used to live in Camden for a short time back in the 80s. It's amazing to see how much North Camden has changed in the downtown area near the waterfront and Rutgers. South Camden isn't looking so good, though. Hopefully they'll focus on other areas of Camden as well and do it without displacing the residents there. Camden wasn't that bad back in the 80s and I had fun roaming the city on my bike or just walking around. I kinda miss it to be honest.
No just downtown. It has nothing to do with the people who live in Camden. I am sure the people East of Cooper don't even venture down there. Why would they, the jobs down there require a degree.
thank you, I did see hope for the city. the downtown section where walter rand tc is, nice, and rutgers all nice. now have to work on some of the rest of the town, I grew up in fairview, took music lessons in camden, went shopping at lits and pennys at christmas time. my grandparents lived off of broadway on liberty st. lots of memories, thanks.
Wow... don't recognize Camden anymore. With all the street names changed and all the empty lots. The only thing I remember is City Hall and the corner of 5th & Federal sts. Which by the way used to have the Parkade bldg and the old Food Fair bld. They finally figured out how to fix Camden... tear it all down and start over. Sad but true. 😢
wow, Camden looks different and Pretty much Nicely. I Couldn't recognize it , back to 1980-90 I was here , I don't see The Building at Federal St and Broadway , Where were alots of Stores, anyway , The City looks Clean and Modern 👏👏👍👍 thanks for Your Video.
I lived by the Shipyard in south Camden, moved out in 1969 after the family car was stolen, found in North Camden 3 days later stripped and burnt,I sure dont remember Broadway looking like a war zone, now retired and living in Eastern Tennessee Plateau 😢
North Camden don’t look as bad as it used to too in the 80’s when I use to live there but south Camden still needs to improve that’s where I grew up in the south
It's a shame Camden is such a mess. Being directly across from Center City Philadelphia, it should be a great place to live with a fantastic view of the City of Brotherly Love; but alas...
Darn.... I thought for sure the southern stretches of Broadway would have started to see serious infill by now😐 Admittedly, I don't get over to Camden that much but just imagine all those swaths of land adjacent to Broadway in the start of the vid filled in with some of those big ol' Philly Kensington-style 2-400+ unit apartment buildings they're just throwing up over here; all with ground floor commercial lining Broadway. Bringing everything that South Camden needs all in one fell swoop. Amenities along with huge density boosts.
I was born in 1951 in north Camden at (time) 19:18 on 729 Elm st My family and I live there the house was torn down now, then we moved (time) 20:10 to 718 N 7 st when I was 10 and we lived there until 1978 the house is still there it's the house with the white gates around it. the the red brick building on the corner was Sewell School I went from 1st grade to 6 grade at (time) 20:52 I went to Pyne Poynt it was a junior high school then 7th grade to 9th grade. Here is an old 8mm film my dad took of us living in those wonderful times as a child! at (time) 22:17 you can see 729 Elm st and how it looked back in 1959 The Williams Family 1959 ua-cam.com/video/Neo5heBaFDE/v-deo.html
I noticed in these video how aggressive up north drivers are. Even if you have the right away they will cross in your lane to get around a park car because you're being careful. Slow down for the firetruck, they speed around you.. I remember driving in Jersey, just got my license.LMAO I love Jersey 😂🤣❤️❤️
It's a shame because a work crew with some quality employees could maintain the parks & streets making the residents a little more conscience of the way they treat the place.
I heard the same thing! Got an uncle who lives in Blackwood, NJ and we drove through Camden. He said, “we not getting out on this side of town. It’s too dangerous. We are gonna stay in the car.” we did get out and walk in the park that’s by the Ben Franklin bridge. That area was nice, because you can see Philadelphia from across the river. But yea, Camden got some rough edges 😅
I want to move to Camden, and it has similarities to here in Baltimore, but only the rougher parts are shown. A lot of people think all of Baltimore looks like this, but there are plenty parts that are suburban and middle to upper-middle class. I need to find those parts or maybe it will have to be Cherry Hill or Pennsauken…

Hood love.
Wow it honestly looks like the city is genuinely coming around as of lately!

Wow !!! Very Clean Streets !!!Camden is coming back lovely !!!;
New Jersey was a nice place to grow up as a kid.Times are a change 'in.
I’ve noticed that the sound quality has improved a lot in your more recent videos! I use them for background noise a lot so I appreciate it 😊
Glad to hear. It's a challenge to keep things quiet while driving but I try to keep it improving.
Wayyy better drivers then anywhere in Florida
I know theres more to do, but the improvement from 25-30 years ago is remarkable to see.
Really enjoy these type Street level vids...feels as though I was transported from my living room to right their!

Could they squeeze anymore traffic lights in ? I'm impressed it look 100% better than the last time I was there.

Philadelphia is far worse than Camden. You literally have roaming zombies in Kensington.
I was planning on moving to Florida in particular the plantation area .
Wondering if plantation was hit hard from the hurricane ?
Google Search It Online & Hopefully U’LL Get UR Answer
Plantation is near Ft. Lauderdale (Miami Metro). They didn't really get hit from the hurricane.
Darn....

You finaly Made it! Can you Do I-295 To NJ 29?
Yeah I've filmed most of 295 in the state.
Born there but moved away when I was a year old.
do you plan on visiting every city in the continental US?
Haha not all. There would never be enough time for that but I do hope to eventually hit all the most significant cities/towns in each state.

It looks much cleaner for sure unless it was cleaned up for this video 😅
Play I'm back in the 90s you didn't want to drive down Broadway it looks a lot nicer
Camden nj looks like moon base alpha😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
What about al the wiers in the air, is this India?
It's a shame because a work crew with some quality employees could maintain the parks & streets making the residents a little more conscience of the way they treat the place.

Not a place you want to find yourself in

Yep, these rough structures make Camden, NJ look bad and not a good place to be seen in
high criminal 🙈

Wow really another person not talking or commentating recording Camden. 👎🏼
