Bravo Ilya! Your discipline and determination is admirable. Every week you tackle a new project with confidence and skill. Keep going and continued good luck to you!
Again, Bravo! Another job well done and passed inspection. Just think that when you are painting walls inside, one of you will say to the other, "this is very easy compared to everything else we have done". If your going to restore a home, do it right! Anything else is unacceptable. This is your forever home.
Thank you very much, Gerry! The works that we are doing right now aren't "sexy" or appealing, but vital for a right renovation. We are finally moving our efforts inside though! 🙂
I love the way you too film all this and do a time lapse and you don't sit around and talk about what you're doing 24/7 you actually do the work lol I've seen so many of these shows where all they do is gab and gab and gab lol of course we want to know what you're doing but you guys do it perfectly! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
What a hardworking couple you are. Also loving that Ilya is more comfortable in front of the camera and using his very good English. So enjoying all of the videos of your progress. Thank you for sharing this huge task with us.
I have an old farmstead house built in the late 1800's that has had many changes and fixes that were done the quick and easy way with no consideration for the future. Because of that and the harsh climate things go so wrong and the repairs are costly and extensive. Very smart to do it right the first time. You'll save a lot of money and mess. Hi from Minnesota, USA where our temps get down to 30 below some winters and the wind can blow 30 MPH on a good day in January.
Tip which helped us - similar kind of project ( newer house 1980) Don’t forget to take photos of every room/area so that you can look how you ran certain piping/wires. (Especially electric’s) so that when you need to drill a hole in the future you know where NOT to drill. Good luck
Now that the pipe is buried. Tie a ball of cotton that fits snuggly in the pipe on fishing line and use a vacuum cleaner to pull it through the pipe. After this pull a stout line through. Later on, you can pull another electric wire or even a water line through.
Always exciting for me to see your progress. It's great that you are doing all the necessary work to make the house sound for the future. Can't wait to see you get moved in permanently and enjoying the fruits of your labor. Best regards to all!
I really admire your tenacity and determination of getting things done.. I also respect your attitude to getting everything you do 100% correct ! It’s a credit to you both 😁👍🏻
Two of the hardest working people I've ever seen! And you never lose your good spirits - at least on camera! Keep up the good work - so many of us are watching and cheering for you!
I really thought we would be seeing the Illia dance today like when he finished removing the plaster, that was fun 🤣. This was a herculean task and the catspector was in a fun mood too lol.
Another wonderful vlog! So much work in so little time. What would we do without high speed videos. I get warn out watching y’all and I can only imagine how tired you must be at the end of each day 🤯 I know we were exhausted when we first move onto our property but we only had 1/2 the work y’all do. 🥴 See y’all soon 😘
I don't think I could've resisted the urge to make a little time capsule and put a few things into the old drainage pipe before you capped it. Great work as usual.
Is it a possibility that the buried brick work is original to the house and part of the drainage system designed to move water from the downspouts to a collection vessel called a cistern? It is difficult to tell how the ground slopes when viewing the video…so that theory could be completely wrong. Your videos are a “must watch” appointment every week. Thank you for documenting your journey.
I like the idea of the safety netting being used as a marker. Over here in the states we use a reflective plastic tape in the same manner as a marker for anyone using an excavator who might not know the underground line exists.
I’ve never heard anything like the netting or tape you mentioned being used in the States. I live in Illinois, so it make be a state or regional thing. In Illinois, you have to call “Julie” before you dig and someone will come out and mark underground connections.
@@susanrussell8195 usually caution tape is used, I think it’s red, it might say something else. But also, it suppose to be buried a certain depth, covered, and then the tape placed on top of that, so when digging the tape is discovered before the pipping (electrical or pluming etc).
“Two eternities later” made me lol! You should instal a bicycle mileage counter on your wheelbarrow. It would be interesting to see how many thousands of miles you put on it!
Wow, that was a big project. But knowing that this keeps the water and damp away from the house is a fine thought. I personally would not put any stone, cement or concrete connected to the house, except by the entrances. This enables any water to dissapear at once into the ground. You're doing great. Cannot wait for inside rebuilding
In the states you are required to go much deeper with an electrical ribbon with metal band so it can be located above ground with a detector. The ribbon gives you added notice when digging in the area that electrical cables are beneath. Safety concerns for anyone in the future who might dig in those areas. Making progress keep at it.
in Italy min. 1/2 meter deep and lay the Heavy PVC pipe on a gravel bed! Complete the job by placing a red white ribbon as a warning of the presence of an underground electrical pipeline.
In Holland we have the electricity also underground but I live 4 meters beliw the level of the North sea. That means that 50 cm under the streets there is groundwater. So everything is max 1 meter deep under the surface
Smart move to put the electric underground. Just make sure that the conduit is big enough for any future cable sizes and a spare conduit is like having a belt and suspenders.
The Orange netting is also called a Mesh. It's used here for a variety of things.. But I like how you are using it. Nice to alert others that there is wiring below it. Nice job on the work done thus far.
I am amazed at how far you've come with this beautiful old farm house. Your work is outstanding. Even the catspector is impressed. Many blessings to all of you. It's looking so good.
So glad you added the orange plastic identification material over the electrical conduit for safety with future digging. Gravel in bags is much easier to handle and now you have heavy duty trash bags. Mr.cat inspector was working late with you. Will you have a rainwater collection system for lawn or garden irrigation? Or any rain barrels? Enjoyed the video. Thank you.
We take it for granted... Мы принимаем это как должное (says google). I can order sand or stone from a quarry and it is delivered in a dump truck. Europe is very careful with ground disturbance due to undiscovered bombs and mines, but a sack has a higher production cost, and is labour intensive. 🤔 The construction fence covering the buried cable is good. We use yellow plastic tape with the word "caution" on it, sometimes it says "buried cable". For when we are old and suffer "old timer's" problems. You're doing great, don't forget to stretch the muscle tension. Liquid help is available, too... 🍻🥂 😉 Will the rain turn to snow for Christmas? ваше здоровье, Greg.
We found an old brick sidewalk in our backyard. It was under 6-8 inches by of dirt. I uncovered it, but it kept collecting soil. Now it is burried again.
It is hard to believe that is was almost exactly a year ago that you were pulling the first tree away from the side of the house, and without any Katsupervision either. You both have done a lot of hard work in a short period of time.
i really enjoy the series. one thing i saw security wise. I work on big construction side. always close inspections wells. even if you think ah I need to do something on it tomorrow. just put something over it. one wrong step and you have sever injuries broken legs. and animals can get stuck inside, they then rott inside and you need to get them out. i am working mostly underground so it is darker but still keep an eye on that
It appears your house had an old weeping tile system around it. This would have been set at, or just below the footings. This is ideally what you want. We have a 140 year old home in Canada, we are digging down to the footings to install drainage and a membrane. The drainage goes to a drywell we dug about 30m from the house (down hill). It has an overflow stand-pipe if it gets to full which spills out (which happens in the spring). Your perimeter sheet system will certainly help.
Bravo Ilya for the courage to speak for yourself more frequently, you are very easy to understand
Bravo Ilya! Your discipline and determination is admirable. Every week you tackle a new project with confidence and skill. Keep going and continued good luck to you!
