    Great help the biggest issue I had was having too much weight on my front foot,

    I’ve been working on these for a while now too. What helped me finally get it was to first take a wide angle, then to click the back truck on your heel wheel think if it as a kick turn slash grind where your body is inside, then aim your front truck on the toe side to the coping to lock it and subtly let your weight come up. The weight shift is tricky . You have to let it come up but not too much on curved coping or you’ll roll out..

    Great tutorial as usual Jon. The advice given to me when I started doing 50/50’s in a pool was drop in with speed. Then it didn’t matter what your truck position was on the coping. It’s always hairy dropping back in if you’re stationary. The shoulder following the coping is great advice because that’s the difference between ramp and pool skating. Always looking forward to your posts.👊🏻🛹

    Nice man! I'm trying the same. I can make carve grinds, but I cannot get it to standing up, I stay too much inside the transition. Same problem with axle stall

      Hey dude, yeah, just set up the Vargas, well spotted, I had a go on Richie’s in the Homie video and really liked it. The Anderson deck has still got life in it, and I love it, but they are quite hard to get hold of ?!!

    • @JonBishopSkate
      @JonBishopSkate  3 роки тому +2

      Ha, poker face and claim it Rivs !! You’ll be going into a grind because you are coming up at a slight angle, the angled approach generates that sideways momentum. Just try going up slightly back on yourself and then you will definitely stall without any movement??

    Well done Jon. I struggle with grinding competently, my friends pump around at speed and just effortlessly pop on the coping from a 45 degree angle and grind a few metres hanging over the inside of the ramp, I'm so envious because I have to have a more head on approach and wobbly get completely on top for a few centimetres. You really drive 3 hours for that park? Along the coast or further inland?

      Hey Dude
      Yeah, I go for a few days at a time when the surf forecast is good to tie it all in. It’s the nearest pool coping bowl, and is situated at the UKs premier surfing location so I razz down as much as possible!!
