Regardless of color each drum major earn their position. I am proud of my black people accepting and not discriminate against Justin for being a drum major and a black just because he's white. I am glad we're opening up and trying.

I was in the band in high school. We did 16 counts of that high chop step in our show and I thought I was going to DIE. It's no joke. Top marks to all these kids for their hard work!

The fact that they’re pretty much only 14-18 and they all look and sound good is amazing.
I wish every high school band could feel as valued as this band is.
I know I do about my DD'S band. They are amazing!! Any kids choosing music over other crap is amazing. Our community is very supportive of our HS band. I think it really depends on the school, the parents and the administration. I completely agree with you.

I still can’t believe these are high school kids. Wow amazing. I live in Nevada, none of the high schools here have anything close to this in our music programs. I played the flute and trombone from 1st to 12th grade and I would have loved to have access to a spectacular band opportunity like this. Great job young men and women. I hope you guys all achieve great success.

This band shows how society is supposed to operate... the "Right" Men all 4 (Drum majors) are in charge.... and everything flows from the sound of the whistle, to the motions of the baton, from the women to the band(society, children)...with no problems.... Great look

It's been two years when I came across this site and I will never get tired of watching the uniformity, energy and class of these young folks.
I hope the young man leading the band ends up at Grambling, Southern, FAMU or the World Famous TSU Ocean of Soul or any HBCU !!!
He's going to Alabama State! Xavier (the tallest one) is going to Talladega. Dominic (3rd DM) is going to Jackson State.

I don't know why folks in power and the ones with the money don't understand that. Justin and Xavier did an YT live with Roger Bros and talked about the impact being part of the band had of each of their lives

As a band mom ( my boys are now grown ) I've been to many competitions, which I miss, and have seen some stellar performances. These young men and women are amazing. You can see the pride and hard work they have put into making sure their precision was perfect.

This is a well directed HS Marching Band. These kids obviously love what they're doing and work hard at it. Well done guys!
I was in my high school marching band. It was fun even tho ya had to worry about messing up. Take great pride in this kiddos alot of people can't do this so after saying this with the try outs fitting for the uniforms music and all the practice. Take pride you all deserve a n congrats. Just remember it takes all not just one kiddos to you all

K P most HBCU bands hold tryouts for drum major they don’t give scholarships away for it maybe some bands outside of the swac might
Honestly, all he needs is a school of music with a decent budget. An adequate player can get a partial scholarship first year, then prove themselves during the year, and increase approaching renewal review. If a school wants him, they’ll make a way. Some schools run band scholarships backdoor from the athletic department...
I watched one video where he was with the band playing his horn and being a drum major Is more than dancing and blowing a whistle (if done right)

These guys and gals gave me hooked. They are so wonderful as a group and every one bringing their A game, not just the dudes at the front. I'm not from USA so have never seen this and don't understand the protocol behind it but I am blown away by how wonderful it is. In New Zealand High school rugby teams do mass haka (a traditional war dance laying down the challenge to an opponent - are you good enough?) and they can be spine tingling. Reccomend checking out videos of them. I'm gonna keep my eye on this new marching out thing. Dang it's fine.
