Truth. My parents' generation generally seems to be iron people. Soviet upbringing very well instilled responsibility and independence from childhood.
And now, only in my opinion, younger generations are already softer, largely because parents are trying to give their children all the best and protect them from most problems.

Waiters and waitresses in the United States do not earn very much money. They have to be super friendly and do whatever a customer asks for as far as the food that is served to them. They work for tips. It is a very unfair system. If you get a waiter or waitress that does not smile at you, you might think that they are mean. And you might not tip them well.

Hooray, finally Russia is represented in the video.😁
To be honest, I didn't even hope. But it's a good idea. Just like, for example, comparing the Polish view of things and English or American. Still, the difference in languages and culture here is bigger than that of England and France, imho.
    ***
Emma and Assol, it was very nice to see you in the video. I hope you will appear more often. I am looking forward to meeting Assol with other people, for example with Christina or Lauren.
Regarding unsmiling, I think it's because we are constantly walking in our thoughts on the street, and we are also not used to showing our emotions to strangers. With friends, we also laugh, fool around, joke, like everyone else (well, maybe less than Italians or Americans 😄)).
Of course, like everywhere else, we have different people, there are rude, polite, kind and indifferent. But I think that most of us are still sympathetic and sincere people, and if you get to know us better, you will understand that we can be best friends. We are open to friends and are always ready to help. We will always honestly say everything we think, and we will expect the same from others (although of course, it is not necessary to cover up outright rudeness with this honesty).

Slovenian women are generally very stubborn and have a strong character, although outwardly they try not to show it because of their delicacy. They often put themselves above men, therefore marriages with foreigners are common.Everyone will have their own opinion on this topic.I can add that even in the villages, many girls do not bother themselves with hard work at all; they paint their nails, do super expensive hairstyles and wait for even black princes to do nothing.

I’m American and I smile a lot. I don’t need a “reason” to smile other than I like smiling and it gives me great pleasure. It’s weird to me that people think smiling requires a justification. I was raised to be grateful for my blessings. I also think we Americans especially Southerners are generally conditioned with the idea it’s important/good manners to be welcoming to people and it’s the right to offer the discouraged encouragement. A 😊 and a kind word is a small gesture but can be a major thing because someone in crisis may need it. We also have this thing called Pay It Forward where we will sometimes pay stranger’s bills at restaurants and other places. I’ve been on both ends of that. “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” “This little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine.”
I like visiting the Caribbean more than Europe. They tend to be more my vibe. 🇺🇸

@@nightlyrowentree6047 My family roots are in a rural predominantly black farming community in AL. I was never told to smile maybe because I was born a smiley kid. Most of my family is like that. We frequently whistle or sing to ourselves. Yes in the South it’s considered rude not to say yes ma’am, no sir, thank you and people will think you have no home training if you don’t. But I take pride in that aspect of our culture. I’m a people person and people call me “shy” as a joke because I will strike up conversations with a stranger on a dime. Not saying we don’t ever feel down but we are taught not to dwell in it. My grandma called it “the attitude of gratitude.” . I went into television news reporting because I like talking to people and hearing their stories. I had a coworker who has RBF and sometimes I would want to ask him a question but wasn’t sure if it was a bad time. Then he explained he wasn’t angry just had a RBF. I have had many people come up to me say they did so because I was smiling and came across as more approachable. I understand not everyone is like this but I don’t think assuming every smiling super chatty American is being fake is fair either. Seems like some non Americans here assume it’s fake.
