The player interactions in The Isle are oddly fascinating to observe.
Two random baby Gallis helping a Carno fight Raptors just because the Carno was nice and didn't immediately kill them on sight, the one Cerato panicking upon realizing he was outnumbered and accidentally falling to his death, the display of intelligent pack tactics by all the Raptors in the video, the herd hilariously oblivious to the predator drinking in full view of them, the two Troodons who tried to pick a fight but decided to take advantage of their preys' disinterest to feast on the organs it had plucked out instead, the Tenonto herd willing to let a Carno pass by while still making sure it knew it wasn't welcome to stick around...
I love it rofl, little stories within a story.
These are reasons why I keep coming back to this game. Every day is a new experience. Every interaction is different. Yeah some bugs and fights tend to work out the same, but it's those little moments that I love the most
I think these games actually offer some sort of insight into how animals actually operate tbh most of this stuff just comes out naturally when you trying to survive

I got punted by tenos after Acro killed a carno and cerato mixpack yesterday(I had died and just respawned). They saw us eating and just thought, "yeah, they're minding their business and have plenty of food. Should probably kill them"

Also i never understood why players first thought after seen their friend or just a random player getting grab by a deino, is getting in the water to bite it instead of run?? What if theres a second deino? once you go in the water for whatever reason, it can just grab you and you just toss your life away tf?
Lol my friend acro and I have the saying "none or both" when we play together. So throwing ourselves in the water to try and help the other is natural instinct at this point xD

The comment about kindness really hit home. I had a scenario as a Deino where I came across a Teno who had been trapped in the trees. He was unable to move. There were a few other Deinos nearby and a few Pteras, we were at the Water Access. I was the biggest Deino in the area and the only big enough to pick him up, so I did. Then I set him down and growled. I'd given up a meal because I felt it unfair.
In exchange, two of the pteras kept calling out suddenly, then took off in flight. They were probably cheering me for being nice, that's what I assumed. The Teno took a few sips from the water then began to lay down. I growled out aggressively. We weren't friends, I was just being respectful enough to give him a chance. The kindness wouldn't last forever if he got too comfortable. He wandered back off getting the hint, and I was left to my hunt.
I went to my usual sunning spot before seeing the two pteras had returned. They were perched on a nearby rock. They dropped a couple of frogs down and flew away. I guess this was them paying me for my kindness. Ironically one of them fell into the water later. I swam beside him as we went to shore. By that point I was at least 4x bigger than the next deino. No one would challenge my decision to let the Ptera live. Once again though I roared a challenge to him. He'd been paid back for his kindness, next time he'd be a meal.
@@sleepy1697 sometimes I think just a bit of kindness goes a long way in-game. We don't have to be buddy buddy, but a little bit of mutual respect for each other's time and energy can be meaningful
I killed a raptor on my juvie carno the other day and suffered heavy bloodloss. I lay down to rest and all would have been fine, but then those damn pterodactyls came flying forcing me to run again. And then I died of bloodloss.

New to your channel, love this! Huge fan of Owltime and you give the same kinda vibe! Would love to see you do an vid where you use the canyons or an interesting area as your “den” and hold it down, protect it. Not a lot of players try to stake a claim on one territory and protect it. Would LOVE to see you try that out!
Once migrations get working fully and dilo is available, I plan to do exactly this in a certain cave I found! Should be a great challenge!

I had been watching the herd for a while from a distance (if you look close you'll see I was tracking someone's trail), considered an ambush in the canyon if there was a baby. But then y'all stopped moving and I could only see big tenos and my hunger level started getting scary. So I gave up on that thought and decided I would try my luck by the rivers.... If I could get by you all safely anyway xD

WAIT! I was with the heard by the water this is awesome. I was a Hypsi trying to hide from the carnos following us for a while. It was honestly super weird, we killed a carno they came back as a baby galli and curb stomped me to death XD I was hiding in the shade under the bridge I saw you but was too busy running from the red carno chasing us. Then for what ever reason our heard adopted a baby carno, until a galli dropped kicked it to death. That's awesome, a silent hidden honor being in one of you videos even if you couldn't see me

@@dinometta It was lol they were on us for a while, the red carno died, they might have died from thirst, I was too much of a coward and hid in the darkness. After they died, then the baby carno died. The other carno left lol. It was fun until the red carno came back and killed me twice lmao. Main reason I love this game, one moment or one choice can end up being an entire book/movie filled adventure. Or end you up one you favorite Evrima creators youtube lol Much love!!

I myself am quite the opposite, I enjoy surprising my victims, ambushing, if you will. I like watching their sudden panic and I like imagining them on the spawn screen, in shock with what just happened, and how they didn't notice me. I don't like to immediately finish them off though, sometimes i roar right as I jump out at them, just to scare the life out of them. if i just immediately kill them its more boring, you cant see their reactions before they die. I love creeping around them, they're clueless while I'm safely hidden, about to strike. something about pouncing from trees too, something about coming from above. when herrera comes out to the public its definitely gonna be my main, being able to drag ur food into the trees, everything. (at least I think it's not out to the public, when I play it's not there, please tell me if there's another way to play as it, I love it already just from watching the videos of it.) Gateway has made solo gameplay *fun*. I honestly prefer it over playing in VC now. I had an extremely story-rich carno journey last night, and while the ending was tragic, I cannot wait to do it again.

As a carnivore, I've had so many close encounters with starvation and finding food last second; it kind of feels like it's the new gameplay loop. It's kind of thrilling.
Herbivores are still more fun in groups in my opinion, but I don't feel that needs to be changed.

I loved it! Btw u dont have to play carno as ambusher only. I have high hopes that in the next update u can exhaust ur opponent by faking a charge and then going for bites, wasting their stamina (teno for example). I love this way of fights

As for running the game, I'm running it on a decently high end custom build PC. That adds a lot to its ability to look pretty as well as run smoothly

is there a trick to finding food? All I do is run around and slowly starve to death.
Walk and sniff. Everywhere you go, if you're trotting, hold the scent key. Also always be listening. Head on a swivel. More often than not, food is hiding nearby. But if you're loud or not sniffing, or otherwise aren't paying close enough attention, you'll walk right on by without seeing, smelling, or hearing your prey.

Carno charge is the biggest flaw of evrima so far.
I would like to see it do less damage so it is used as a stun cc like teno tail slam. Right now it makes carno incredibly oppressive, especially when they can charge instantly. I ran across about 6 of them together today on two different servers, so as a species they're clearly doing just fine. Better than fine honestly.

I feel like that second one had to be luck on your part. Wasn't there still a bug back then that let go of your prey when you lunged? I had several teleport out of my jaws back in the day

How’d handling the rougher terrain go? I’ve been in leg break central lately with any Dino.
I haven't had much trouble. I have been my leg when fleeing without watching carefully and once or twice when I was fighting stegos as raptor. But just during travel or otherwise wandering, not at all

Yeah, simply start running and then hit your charge attack immediately. You only have to take maybe 1.5 steps before a charge activates right now

And you mentioned something about a 20 second cooldown?
@@justipudiyou can only charge once, after that you cant charge for 20 seconds. Theres a green bar under your stamina that goes dull when you charge and will get bright again when your next charge is ready. Alot of creatures will have it at some point such as dilos venom and dibbles sparring mechanic.
@@justipudi yes, there's now a bar below your stamina. That turns lighter after you charge and is darker when you can charge again. That timing is about 20 seconds to prevent spamming charges

do u follow like some sort of rotation for travelin to diff spots? also what are the diff spots diff dinos migrate to? i havent had the chance to find them out
I tend to follow pretty specific zones. South plains and Highlands are often a pretty safe bet for food. Ceratos hang out in South plains often. Stegos and tenos are usually in Highlands.
Overall though, picking your favorite herbivore to hunt and following their zones is your best bet.
@@dinometta i've checked in many places tho (adimittedly not in some of the ones you mentioned quite yet) and yet i dont find anything. in highland all i find is small corpses and competition thats too big for me, delta is barren whenever im there, same for northeast aside from the *absurd* amount of dilos there that i scavenge from, however almost always ends in them killing me, same with east plains. i also just cannot find nutrients that can replenish what i lose just from trottin over to it, leaving me weak to dilos or literally anything i could possibly eat. gateway is unforgiving in my experience and i apologize for the paragraph

i play croc and i gotta say im out of practice with lunging
Yeah, I think most are. I've been lunged at and grabbed multiple times (about 6). Only been actually drowned and killed on Gateway once.
