- With these Viberg Service Boots we took off the old sole and heel but we kept the midsole because it was still in good shape. We then added New Vibram Commando soles and hand stitched the sole on that way the top stitching would look perfect. After that we nailed the heel base on and then the Commando heel. We then finished with a our egde wax and put it on the brush to get a slight brown edge finish.

Excellent work.
Damn that’s incredible work. Hand sewing to not put new holes in the upper. Amazing.
The photographic values are amazing. Such an artist that so lovingly shoots and edits these!
You do INCREDIBLE work! Love to see a man take pride in his trade.
Those Commando soles look great with that boot.
You should be proud of your restore. articulate! Love the natural finish of sole & heel edge. Thanks ! 👍👍🎃
I have that very same boot! Amazing work repairing these, such a craft indeed!
I’m dying to burn through some soles just so I can send some boots in. Beautiful work as always
JUST DISCOVERED YOUR CHANNEL I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN ,FANTASTIC WORK….!
Good job on the resole 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Love the videos! I watch all of them
I appreciated your craftsmanship! Could use your advice - I’m considering buying Viberg’s but for that price wouldn’t it be smarter to buy a boot with Goodyear welt? This way I can re-sole a handful of times over my lifetime instead of stitchdown and risking the leather ripping? Or can stitchdown be re-soled a few times no problem? 🙏🏻
Thanks for your comment! We can resole stitch down construction boots. We handstitch the sole on to make sure we use the same holes on the stitch down portion that way you should be able to get multiple resoles out of them.
Amazing job! Do you have any product recommendations for bringing back the waxy sheen if your boots are all fuzzy?
a bit of saddlesoap and then any 100% natural shoecreme with high beeswax content should do the job.
YOU ARE THE MAN WOW…!
I think i have these same boots! What should i use on the leather?
Великолепная работа!
Great job but why you don't use new leather heel blockers you always use the old one pls give the answer
leather can be a very long lasting material and when the heel is not worn through the leather lifts, often they are perfectly fine and can be reused
Big upgrade.
Nice. You cut the stitching for the sole and removed it with the nippers instead of using a knife to cut between the outer and the mid sole.
how much was this job? what model sole is that?
Silly question but how do the nails on the heel not go up into the boot? Is there a specific length or type of nails that cobblers use?
The nails should be long enough to get through the heel and just into the sole.
what's the model number on these? I don't think I have ever seen the itshide style vibram lug sole.
Vibram 2040
@@Skell6009 I'm an idiot. Literally have that on my Thursday loggers
Wow those look great! 😊👍 As an aside, I always tense up when I see cobblers' using a buffer on UA-cam because that's one of the biggest hazards in a knife shop. 🥲
