This video was really helpful I had the same problem and I did the test to make sure it wasn’t my pump and then next step I replaced this fuel pump regulator and it worked and it also took that check engine light off after 1 hr of regulator being replaced !! But again thank you for this video it saved me a lot of money !!

Thanks for providing this video. I had P0087 and P0088 codes, changed out the fuel pressure regulator per your recommendation Ram 2500 2010 6.7 Cummins BOSCH-1465ZS0054 and fuel filter. I took off the inner black plastic fender and driver's side wheel. it was so much easier getting to that part. Truck runs great now!

Just replaced thus and cleared the codes this morning. 15 mile test drive under some serious pressure and all good as far. It never ram bad but the code just hit and only drove it about 40 miles to get home last week. Again thx for the information

On a 2014 at 141k I noticed similar idle symptoms. A recent turbo actuator failure sidetracked me. Fuel economy in winter is right under 13mpg with a stock powertrain and 35" tires.

I had the same problem on my 2013, but I had no code. Talking to the guys on the TDR forum got me pointed in the right direction. Beware of cheap fake online parts that don't work. I bought a cheap one and problem persisted. Bought another on Geno's Garage for $150 or so and it's worked right ever since.

I have the same truck 2011. And I can say they keep you wrenching and familiar with them. Haha. Drive shafts are my trucks problem. Always a shake I buy new ones from Mopar and the spline has slop it shakes. Hangar bearing atleast once a year. Gotta love them when there working good. But that's not often.
I wonder if that’s my problem? I did pretty much an entire new suspension but it still has a shake. Thought it may be gearbox but not certain.

Do you think a fass system would help me bypass any of this? I was pulling 20k last night and my tuner gave me the p00087 code - I will say my fuel filters are down to 10% and I’ll change those and clear the codes. But do you think a fass would prevent any future codes in addition to the part you suggested? Thank you
Mine was the filters. Changed them as soon as I noticed a lack of power and got code. I change them regularly except that one time and had the same issue .
My 22 3500 has shut off on me twice on the hwy. the dealership replaced my “fuel filters” saying my fuel is dirty.
Picked up my truck yesterday and only drove 60miles before it shut off again.
Now a P0087 popped up, sent the truck back to the dealership. Hopefully they fix it

thanks for the video. i have been having the exact issue you've said in video. and replaced the same things also. was told it was engine mounts and it was a $5k fix. my issue is in a 2016 f350 and 700k miles. going to try this when i get back home. ty s be safe

Because I broke down last year and bought a second hand MERCEDES SPRINTER DISEL 2.1 HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP
Because the switch wasn’t working. The mecanick made the repair by switching the switch from the secondhand switch off of the pump I bought.
Ever since I can drive a few miles and the engine management light starts to flash and I lose the turbo it kinda goes in limp mode
But if I turn the engine of for 10 minutes it re sets and it drives perfect. For a few miles then it flashes again. And limp mode again

Yeah my 2018 ram 3500 starts up but shuts down in 10 seconds. Not sure if it’s the fuel pump
I haul RVs and on my way home (empty) last night my truck started hesitating going up the hills in the mountains and eventually popped a p0087 code. I had to baby it home by the time I got back I could barely go over 50mph. I drove it this morning and it seems fine now I’m not sure what the issue is. But I’m hoping it’s not a lift pump. I might try to replace this regulator. My abs light has been dinging non stop last few days also and my truck does idle hunt when I’m sitting at a light lately. I’d love for this to be the fix.
What did you do to fix this issue ?

will this part work on 2018? 6.7. i replaced filters and pump in tank and still engine light on. only problem i have is no real power and mpg is horrible.

I have 2019 new fuel pump new solus legend still low fuel pressure p008a cranks fine won't run. Fuel rail pressure sensor im thinking. They put it great spot.
I have a 2018, same mention code but no power loss.. do you ave any updates?
@autodrake it was a dead cell in one of my battery's. No lie. One of the battery's was right below normal voltage and I replaced it, and all codes went away and truck ran fine.
Did your truck lope like it had a cam job when u put it in drive or reverse?

My truck is doing the same thing but it'll occasionally lose power and blow plumes of smoke black and almost white. I was told dirt is clogged in the fuel lines but idk I havent diagnosed it.
Did you find out the problem. With urs?
@@cmoe2386 similar happened to me. Dpf got clogged and messed up the cats. Had to replace it.
I have a 2014 Ram 3500. I was able to scan my truck today and got this code. My truck runs fine unless it's under load and then it feels like it's surging(?), and loses power a bit, mostly when going up a hill. I just changed my air filter last week and oil/fuel filter/fuel-water separator the week before that. I'm at about 50% on my filters. I have just under 229,000 miles on my truck (I think I am the 2nd owner-had just under 67K on it when I got it rhe end of Jan 2020). Is it normal for it to go out that early? Is this early? Could it just be the fuel filters? Or could it be (please Lord, don't let it be) the high pressure fuel pump? I heard those range from $3500-$4500. Please, I need some help.
Tonya Crawford, I got 512 k on my 2014 , lift pump last year just as precaution. My cp3 pump is alright , I use lots of fuel additive, winter time Howse, summer time Howse/ Lucas, maybe a little Marvel Mystery oil once in a while. I'm a big proponent of good fuel additives.

@@cedricwoodard2788 Nothing yet. Had to leave the RV industry for now and it hasn't been an issue. If it goes out, the truck will get repo'd as I don't have the money to fix it. One place tells me the code is one thing, another tells me another... Will find out someday. Good luck. If you find out what the result of yours is, let me know. Be safe.
@@ronmoore3987 Only fuel additive I used was the antigel for cold weather. Haven't used any this year, have to get some. Was thinking about starting to use AmZoil, but am out of a job for the moment for back issues and had to quit RV job for lack of work. Think I've only used the fuel additive once, the Hot Shot kind. Haven't used it since.
