Years and years after, this video is still evergreen. This guy is Olympic gold medalist for crying out loud that is enough achievement of ones lifetime. Then in conjunction with Eddie Hearn he became two times boxing heavy weight world champion.. In my view if he retires tomorrow he didn't do no wrong. Not many might come to that in lifetime

First of all well done AJ for qualifying for the Olympics, especially given he only started boxing 4 years before the Olympics.
He was dominated by the Cuban. Final was competitive but I felt the Italian did enough to get the decision. AJ was fortunate this Olympics was in England otherwise he would have been out after his first fight and wouldn’t have got a bronze medal.

I watched alot of 2012, being a brit it was everywhere. At the time their was a live landed punch count. Amature boxing isn't judged like pro boxing. That's why so many amature struggle to adjust to being a pro. It's not 10 point must system, so much of Joshua's wins here came down to landed punches.
I was Team GB all the way but I remember shaking my head when Joshua got the nod in the final....
If this video was supposed too showcase Joshua's skill..... then you failed.
I am amazed he won watching this, because all i saw was him being scrappy, missing more than he hit, and blocking punches fantastically with his head.

You say that because Cuban boxers have never been in Cuba before they become professionals because they do not let them leave the country only when they are going to reappear in Cuba and they are always watching them so that they do not escape and the salary they receive for winning a gold medal It is not more than 1,000 Cuban pesos that is about 250 dollars so it is impossible to compare
