Hi Steve, I use a Makita Die Grinder with a 1/4 inch collet.

I've only had the one die grinder so can't really compare it. But not had any problems with it. I'm not in the workshop at the moment, but did a little run down of kit on another video "Carving a Wood Spirit into a post" That might be of use mate.

We have no wood to work with in alberta.... little shit is all we have.. so frustrsting as a carver
