Just started watching these... both men and women's. So amazing!! I've seen that Janja in a lot of the competitions. So impressive!! I can't even climb onto my chair all of the time!!
I think the really tough dynamic moves have been in the world championships - particularly Innsbruck (2018) - boulder #1, and Hachioji (2019) - boulder #2.
My 9 yr old just started climbing a couple of months ago... She's now decided she wants to be a professional rock climber when she grows up. I will have to show her this.
They probably practice their dismount as much as climbing to ensure they land properly. I'm not 100% sure though. I'm sure at least 1 injury had occurred at some point but, then again, maybe not!! Good question!!
There are pads on the floor underneath which help to soften the impact on your joints, if you see when they jump off too they bend their knees a lot to reduce the impulse which also helps to reduce the strain on the knees. If you have a more uncontrolled fall there are ways to properly fall as well like bending your knees then rolling onto your back which also reduces the impulse.
