I'm so impressed with you videos time and time again. Just when I'm wishing there were a video that would go through the tuning and use of Xhp or the Mecatronics maintenance or.....or.... etc. You come through either with a new video or I find the topic covered in one already made. In essence YOU ROCK. IMHO. LOL. Thank you for this great informative video! As always!
Wow, thank you! Its all we set out today, try and actually make content that helps people, not just click bait BS. Its just a grind doing it this way. But its content i am proud of generally.
Interesting settings for the Throttle Blips M-Mode. With the v3 map most had to turn them way down like -30% because throttle blips/rev match give as massive jerk forwards say from 3-2. The problem is i think it doesn't just effect M mode like it says, but Sport aswell. There's a thread somewhere on e90post about it.
Yeah, got mine down - 45% to smooth out throttle blip downshifts, although I did find that in M mode - keeping a light throttle whilst downshifting is fast and smooth without jerking.
I know this is old but will the launch control settings help me launch the car at more boost on drag slicks at the drag strip? What is this override brake boost protection? Should I turn it off? My car doesn't spin off the line and I'm not worried about breaking stuff.
One of the most beneficial things is the shift map editior. I always found sport mode kept the rpms way to high. Went in shift map editor, set them all to about 10% +/- and now sport mode still feels really responsive but doesnt hold gears at 2800rpm for ever and shifts as quick as a dsg. Stage 3 and custom settings to your preferances is like driving a dsg
Hi Andrew! Hey the Torque Reduction Upshifts, the way I read it is if you drive the number negative it is “reducing the engine torque” LESS during shifts, IE and -20% number “reduces” torque “reduction” by 20% from what it would be. So leaving it as default leaves some performance on the table (for non drag mode shifting)
...Its confusing because its a double negative wording... What i notice is moving the slider to the left makes it shift slower under WOT, you can feel the shift kind of like a manual, 'off gas, clutch, shift, on gas'.. To the right feels more faster/harsher
Thanks for making this video! Most of my settings are very similar but it still clarified a bunch of things for me. My quickcharge pressures and times were definitely a bit worse than what you showed though, and I've only got like 104k on the car. Interesting.
@@ZeroTo60Tube 100%. Once I'm playing around with Stage 2 and maybe an ethanol blend I'll probably do it for sake of peace of mind at least. 🤞Thanks for your help mate
As far as I know drag mode is very hard on the transmission, XHP claims it themselves.I don’t think I’d be taking this chance. I think stage 3 is perfect and safer.
In my 535d, in D the car accelerates hard past 120mph but in S and M modes there is a flat spot after 100mph, do i need to fiddle with the torque limits or is there anything else causing this? Many thanks mate
Hey man rewatching this video was hoping you had gone over shift points hopefully you can help me im trying to change mine so theyr lower than 7 il set it to 6.2 for all gears of d s and manual and reflash the etc, go do some pulls and it stays shifting at 7!! What am i doing wrong? Very happy with your gofundme as well well done !!
Thats not a bad idea. There are a few settings a lot of people are not aware of which can significantly help the way the car drives. This does currently run boost by gear, although with the turbos currently on it, it probably doesn't mean it.
Yes I vaguely remember an episode you did with shift boy and a lot of people think only affects MT cars which isn’t true. Keen to see you do something similar for MHD anyway.
@@testandtune6096 I would love that if you did it. I know you've been using JB4 for longer as your first 335i came with one already installed. (Or was that your second 335i?). But you have a very unique way of looking at these things and explaining them as well that I think would be very useful to myself and others.
I don't believe the clutch packs are at risk, it's the shock load to shafts they're (XHP) worried about I'd suggest. Great sharing your settings 👍 Kickdown disability - did you know it will still kickdown, it just stops the illogical one at 6k rpm that's pointless. Rev match - those adjustments are useful for S mode, and the 3-2 downshift usually needs 25% reduction to smooth it out. I'll also share dont reduce the max rpm shift point, it can be extremely harsh and i think thats what loosened my crank hub balancer. Cheers boys, thats just what i found myself 👍
If the kickdown disable is not working for you then i bet you have an older model with frayed wires under the shift boot like many do.. I was only getting partial features of xhp until i fixed the wires. No clues that they were frayed.. but yeah, the kickdown switch will not kick down under WOT if you set it not to...
@@dextershumba7262 from memory i was lowering 1st to 2nd upshift point by 500rpm, it slammed the gear really really hard. About 1 day later i got camshaft correlation codes. It was a slipped balancer, bolt looser than spec (only 90 turn and could spin crank bolt by hand) My opinion is its likley the cause. Cheers
xHP must say things to cover them so people dont blame them if things go wrong. Nothing more. They are software engineers. Not transmission builders. On a perfect box, i can't see this being an issue. If you trans isnt working properly to start with, it will be a problem.
Mate, you are a genius. I didn't have Shift Speeds M-Mode on and it was on the default settings, soon as I put that on and took it for a drive, holy fucking jesus, umm huge difference much? 😂 I always had it on stage 3 with drag mode on but noticed it use to bog when I upshift, it was still fast but it would bog and be uncomfortable but with Speed M Mode, omg the bog is gone, it's like a DCT gearbox LOL Edited DCT from DTC (Typo Mistake)
in which direction did you push the % in this setting? To the left (negative) or to the right (positive). Does making it faster also make it more comfortable?
So I had this same thought towards when I was running flat foot shifting in my track car. I always thought using the flat foot shift/2 step was better as the power is being pulled back while I shifted gear and if it was set correctly you could get off of the clutch just as the revs matched the gear speed. Totally better off with high clamp forces but the little slip that they will have amplifies with the extra force put through. But still better than slipping the clutch for comfort
Hey so using this program if im doing a big turbo mod or a big turbo. Can I use this something in this program or similar that will engage or disengage the torque converter At certain rpm so I can get the turbo to spool up easier. Kind of like raising the stall speed a bit I guess allowing it to slip more. Just in general on the tool itself

Hi! Dct setting videos?
Hey with the Drag Mode settings what’s the difference between Lower - Standard - Higher? I see you have yours on standard but what does the higher do?
Its the pedal position that drag mode engages.
@@testandtune6096 Oh cool so which setting would be better?
A video for settings on a DCT?

You need to set max rpm for that. You also need to have the pedal through the kick down stepper. Make sure kickdown is not deactivated in MHD.
I love drag race mode on my e92 335i n54 435hp it's definitely helped my 0-100km/h times and 1/4 mile time

Purely as i dont need that feature right now. We wont know what we want it reving to until the new turbos are on and see how they feel past 7000rpm.
