It's been 5 years, I am rewatching the entire series again, I am cringed out by my past self's obsession and yet completely understand it, this comment cringed me too but also I wasn't wrong and Darcy still sweeps me off my feet

Some people have said that Darcy and Lizzie don't have all that much chemistry, and I completely disagree. Even before they were getting very friendly, it was obvious there was tension, and you could see Darcy's feelings through his slightly stoic face. The actors were AMAZING at portraying these two, especially when they're being all cute like in this video. GAH it's so good.

Love that they've thrown in the 'shelves in the closet' reference from the book and BBC serial. Not to mention when Darcy sweeps Lizzie off her feet - just the perfect moment we needed.

@@Hannah-pr7gq I can hear it in my head more from the 1995 BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, but Lizzie is visiting Hunsford Parsonage where Mr Collins lives and when he shows her round, he makes a very proud point of mentioning that Lady Catherine said to fit shelves in a closet, to which Lizzie replies "shelves in a closet, how very novel indeed." It might not sound like much but to me, it was just very typical of Mr Collins' character to focus on something so inconsequential to everybody else but him.
Happy thought indeed! I always think that when I see shelves in a closet now.
I searched on a PDF of the novel and a similar quote is in there too, when Mr Colins is talking about how great Lady Catherine is. "And (she) had once paid him a visit in his humble parsonage, where she had perfectly approved all the alterations he had been making, and had even vouchsafed to suggest some herself-some shelves in the closet upstairs.”
Aww, the way he just swooped in and grabbed her was adorbs!

+Hannah McGuire I finished a few days ago and I can honestly say my life will never be the same-I suggest stalking all of the actors and actresses and singing about Dizzie in the shower. It hasn't worked for me -yet-, but I do enjoy the occasional Instagram post from Ashley Clements more than I'd care to admit. Even if she's just posting a picture of her cat.
I have definitely looked the actors up in Instagram and followed them, and I suppose that helps haha but yes I will try the singing!! And the cat posts are enjoyable. Haha thanks for the advice! I agree that my life will never be the same, but in a wonderful way :)

I've been thinking about this for a few days now. And I can't help but think that Darcy and George are two sides of the same coin. They're both ambitious--they just have different ways of getting what they want. They're both strong and physically fit--as George chooses to show off his washboard abs, Darcy chooses to keep his clothes on BUT SWEEP LIZZIE OF HER FEET EFFORTLESSLY.
