So I found Demodcracys channel while he was amidst his entire souls series boss ranking. I was lucky enough to count down the best bosses of the series along side him and it absolutely changed the way I obsess over these games. I've been a huge fan of his ever since and always craved more series rankings of the bosses as more content was added. I'm so glad to have found your channel while you are still growing (subbed to you when they were under 1,000 subs) and love this new series with the DS3 DLC, Sekiro, and Elden Ring added in. controversial take: I love living failures Probably my favourite gank fight in the series. The music is ameazing and the arena is beautiful and wierd at the same time. If you have low dps this fight is extreamly tense and satysfying. I know it's terrifying but on my first playthrue I enjoyed them much more than lady Maria because I just parried the shit out of her
@@Nightwalk2 yeah but just because one boss is better doesn't mean the other is bad. Also I would argue that failures are better than shadows. Shadows have very annoying third phase and are generally far less cool than failures. The only problem with failures is their low difficult for most builds
Mist noble would be a mini boss and would be a separate enemy type in my book. Same reason why soldier of godrick won’t be in the rankings. Maybe I can clarify that in the next one for people!
To this day I haven't bothered fighting the Ancient Dragon, it really should bother my OCD - after all I fought the unnecessary unique chalice dungeon bosses purely out of a feeling that if I didn't it would be like an itch inside my brain! - but based entirely on everything I know about the boss it just doesn't. Maybe one day after I get the plat for Demon's Souls and it's literally the only From boss I haven't killed. Maybe... EDIT: First time I ever tried to play DS2 after doing all achievements on DS1 I actually gave up after dying to Royal Rat Vanguard multiple times, didn't touch the game again until I'd already plat Bloodborne and DS3 as well lol When I went back to play Scholar of the First Sin it was so laughably easy I can't even work out how I ever died.

if malenia is not on top 5 just because of the flurry attack i swear to god its been like three months since the game's release and its enough time to learn how to dodge it
I would've ranked the monkeys above the Witches myself, but that's mainly because I love the Illusion Hall as an area and I love swinging through it, much more so than the Witches' arena (points for the multiple levels tho). That said, this is a solid list so far!
If I had to actually do the puzzle aspect I would’ve put the monkeys many places higher. Too bad, cause the ideas are so cool! Witches at least has a combat component to it still which is nice, but you make fair points.
I agree with your placement of Covetous Demon - he is bad, but not as annoying as many other bad bosses. One thing I disagree - I like the Last Giant, I would put him higher.
So many of DS2's bosses would have been great if they had, like, twice as much HP. Covetous Demon's fight has actual mechanics! You can knock the bodies hanging from the ceiling down to distract him as he compulsively eats them, but there's no reason to do that when you can already just kill him in under a minute.
Capra Demon boss stage is absolutely terrible, feels like an unfinished prototype. Hate that part, it throws me out of the game, as last stages and last boss, absolutely rushed development. Worst parts of DS1.
I actually prefer the corrupted monk over the true monk, she's one of my top favorite sekiro bosses. The true version has the same awesome flow in phase one but phase two is just a free stealth blow and her final phase is really annoying due to her unpredictable moves and the terror buildup. Corrupted monk is just her best phase without the BS and although it's sad that she's one of the easiest bosses to cheese if you fight her honestly she one of the most fun bosses in the game.
Fair enough, though like I said I give leeway to first bosses as they're meant to teach you how to play rather than necessarily just be an "awesome" boss - and I was really really disappointed by Corrupted Monk. In isolation, Corrupted Monk is a better fight though.
The Ape Gank Duo below the Folding Screen Monkeys??? At least you fight the two Apes with actual skill and the AI is better than the AI for the Godskin Duo or the Gargoyle Duo in ER. The brown ape is also decimated by firecrackers before the other Ape can even do much. Plus, they are almost optional, as you can circumvent having to fight them. I do not agree with this, like at all… I can see why, but I don’t think they’re objectively this bad. Still, great job at literally ranking ALL major bosses!
The thing I hate most about the Living Failures is that after managing to best Ludwig, taking out Ebrietas, and absolutely demolishing Logarius on my first attempt, I still cannot kill those fuckers.

I have 2 main disagreements here: I don't see what's a chore about corrupted monk more than any other boss and imo he should easily be top 100. Valiant Gargoyles on the other hand imo should be around 20 spots lower.

Fias champions over guardian ape? Really? Arriving at that place and seeing guardian ape again Is an awesome setting that you don't even mention, fia's champions is just terrible. Edit - just saw covetous demon and pinwheel ahead of the guardian ape and got even more outraged, also saying the corrupted monk is disappointing because he appears later in the game is ridiculous, how would you know he appears later in the game at the time?
Glad to see Stray and Firesage Demon so low. Awful fight. Surprised you (or anyone else for that matter) haven't mentioned the abysmal AOE attack it does with staff swing. Such a horrendous move.

I said in the first video, it’s my personal enjoyment. This includes arena, lore, music, design, mechanics, etc. After I’m done fighting a boss, how I felt about it. I think I explain why I feel the way I do about bosses pretty clearly, but I guess not enough for everyone! Sorry you didn’t enjoy.

I would have put Ruin Sentinels higher, as I personally think they are one of the better balanced gank fights in the series
Seeing Nitto in a low position hurt me. At the time when only Demon Souls and Dark Souls had been released, he was a great symbol of the Souls series.

She is a flawed great boss. The worst boss is actually the Bed of Chaos.
