Apologies on the audio and the editing - I'm on remote setup, and I recorded all of it on my iPhone. I hope you all enjoy anyways! It's been a journey doing this series and I'm so glad you guys joined me on it. More Soulsborne videos: ua-cam.com/video/xTLTzeMVraA/v-deo.html Elden Ring: ua-cam.com/video/TXHNzwJbdVA/v-deo.html
Nuh huh, Midir is not the greatest dragon battle in videogame history. Grigori is, seriously. It's such a shame a lot of people never played Dragon Dogma's.
Just to let you know I agree I love Artoias being said he didn't defeat the abyss he failed it was the player character who defeated the abyss & Artorias given the credit for it. Not being negative either I love the video & your enthusiasm I'm a huge souls fan too & I'm not lore expert but I do know Artorias didn't actually defeat the abyss as you said he succumbed to it. Great video you earned a new subscriber in me!
Slave Night Gael is the best boss your 1000% correct at least if you ask me & I love Souls been playing the souls games for years & years Demon's, DS, DS2, BB, DS3, Sekiro & Elden Ring love them all
Hard to disagree against Gael. While the fight itself is great, for me its at the top because of what he represents: a perfect end to Dark Souls. Two nobodies fighting in the middle of nowhere with nothing but ash, for something that doesn't matter anymore.
Great TheDemodcracy copypaste, you know you are wrong, Gael has the Dark Soul and by killing him, you the last Lord of Cinder, you are able to give the painter an opportunity for a new world
Fun fact about Ludwig : In his second form when he reach for his moonlight sword, Ludwig is no longer considered a beast from the game, therefore any equipments and weapons that hurt beasts will do him no harm like his first phase
When I fought Gael for the first time it felt like this fight was what the previous games prepared me for. I never had that much trouble with Gael because everything felt intuitive for me. It was a beautiful, intuitive fight and is also my number 1 in the series.
I feel the same way, while dark souls three was my first dark souls game and Gael wasn’t that hard for me I feel like fights like nameless king or soul of Cinder are the true lessons, and Gael is the final test for something that you’ve already prepared for. (I’m not saying soul of cinder was extremely hard, but I feel the fight was similar)
Despite a lot of experience with these games, Gael has always been difficult. He’s like Orphan of Kos crossed with Artorias mechanically with a bunch of his own things added in phase 3, and he has a gargantuan health bar. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s the most perfectly designed FromSoft boss, IMO. It’s always interesting how much people differ on what they find hard in these games. Admittedly, I’m not entirely certain that DS3 isn’t the game from Dark Souls Series/Demon’s Souls/Bloodborne that I’ve least mastered for whatever reason.
Gael's combos in both phases are some of my favorite I've ever seen. It gets better omce it progressively gets more intense so it becomes like an anime video game battle done right. Man do i need to go back to DS3
Gael will probably always be the most thematically perfect fight this studio has ever made. Amazing experience, even if I still find the fight extremely difficult.
Gael is so so so so good. The fact that he’s the sendoff to an entire trilogy worth of games really adds to his emotional impact. As great as Ludwig is, he’s ultimately just another boss in the BB DLC. Gael, meanwhile, is the end of an era.
@@BBQcheese Souls is weird like that. Last time I played DS3 I beat Midir first attempt, Friede third attempt, but Gael took like 20 attempts. Everyone seems to have wildly different experiences with these games. I think that's super cool
The biggest OMG moment for me was definitely in Bloodborne. Nothing struck me with so much awe until I beat Rom and found out the Amygdala were around you the entire time, so you barely even scratched the surface to understanding what was going on around you. Not only that, but the realization that it wasn’t about beasts anymore. This was about something greater.
Gael was a fight that I had heard of beforehand and seen brief clips of and it made me excited to finally get to him. When I did, I wasn't let down at all by hype. Loved it immediately and it's definitely in my top 3 boss fights ever.
I played DS3 after finishing the other souls games, only becouse Gael, i heard tons of things bout it, I was max hyped when I first encountered him, not only it was what i expected, it was undescriptible more beautiful . Glad to read this over and over that made me played the DLC.
Ds3 is my fav game for so many reasons, but the DLCs in the game were just 10/10 the best soulsborne content by far. I will never forget the moment I beat Gael the first time my heart beating and I felt that I truly beat him not got lucky or something. Not to mention exploring the Ringed City was a task in of itself with so many good moments in it just loved it
I have that feeling with bloodborne, every boss in that dlc are amazing! Ludwig has by far the best song in the series, really hard, and pretty good lore. Maria another great song, pretty hard, and also pretty good lore too. Living failures, although a mid fight in NG, but in NG+ he’s hard, and has a super underrated song. Orphan kos, the most fun 12 hours of my life! Gael, I find to easy actually, with 7 of basically the same move, and only one hard move, but after that move you can get a full combo on him. Freide and midir are to good though.
The best thing about the Gael fight is the fact that his healthbar is so large. Its an endurance fight at high pace. It forces you to learn the boss, and once you do it becomes a beautiful back and forth dance of combat. That fight is the definition of souls like bossfights. No random cheese strategies. No random staggering with a great club. No magic spamming with a summon. Just learning the moveset and enduring the three phases.
As someone relatively new to From’s modern catalog, this series has been a blast to watch over the last few months as I’ve been playing through each game and then rewatching certain sections to compare our experiences. Excellent work and looking forward to whatever you have planned next!
Same! Im new aswell and at the moment im trying to finish ds3. There is no other game as interesting and awe inspiring like soulsbornes to me. One thing bad about soulsbornes tho is the fact that when i try another games that are not fromsoftware i kinda feel letdown due to how high these games set the bar.
@@boykieshush u should play them seperately yeah, its funny how at first bloodborne wasnt near my favorite fromsoft games, but the more i play it the better it got and now its my favorite game of all time. dark souls 3 was my first one played that one the most
Can we all appreciate just how great each genichiro encounter was? When you fight his second phase for the first time and have to parry his lightning, the whole setting was SO badass.
Gael is fantastic, but Sword Saint is number one for me because Sekiro’s combat is the best in the series, his design is immaculate and beautifully balanced. It is such a fun dance I look forward to fighting him every time. He’s extremely difficult at first, but after some practice then it becomes much easier and gets more fun every time you fight him. He has a vast array of moves, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming for me, none of his moves feel unfair or BS, S tier
Same, when I think of good bosses I always look at ds3 and bloodborne, but the combat and having a proper bonfire ascetic in Sekiro make the bosses like Genichiro and Isshin the most fun to fight. I think refighting Gael would get boring after a while due to rolling and R1 being the only tools, wheras I will never get tired of fighting the sword saint.
@@Conandus Exactly, I simply can’t put Gael above him when your only tool is rolling and r1 spam, the depth of the combat is incomparable. Isshin Sword Saint tests you on everything you’ve learned throughout your journey, and requires you reach a level of mastery over the mechanics. There’s thrusts, combos, sweeps, ranged attacks, lightning attacks, it is the culmination of your entire journey in one single fight but it manages to never feel like BS artificial difficulty like Malenia. Every one of his moves are predictable and fair and once you learn it it is just the most satisfying flow state of combat. I think beating him for the first time was the most hyped i’ve ever been over a boss fight, it took me nearly 2 hours the first time but i’m quite good at it now. The combat is leagues above dark souls and maybe sword saint is a little too hard for some people but after fighting him dozens of times it is my opinion that he is really well balanced considering the difficulty. Deflecting his 6 hit spear combo is so satisfying. I love Sekiro. Even Genichiro is still fun to fight, he becomes rather easy once you get good but it is still a fun back and forth dance. They need to take a page out of Sekiro’s book for their next game regarding the boss design, because it is so good. Owl Father is great as well.
@@hugo-pg5tv Not true at all. In Sekiro, there's all kinds of ways to counter an enemy's attacks. In Dark Souls there's only like two for the most part.
That fight really is one of if not the best double fight ever. Love how they can both switch their state of aggression and how the moveset of the 2nd phase can change depending on which demon you slay first.
Yeah for me they are way better than O&S from the arena, how tense the fight, and how spectacular the effects in that fight, really underrated. Probably has to with the fact how great bosses in Ringed City are (Even the pvp boss is quite well done for me), hence why they are being overshadowed too much by Midir and Gael..
The Malekith fight is outstanding. It's his jarring speed and agility on top of his power. Had he had 2 health pools, one for each phase I think he'd be higher.
Demon prince has some of the best lore imo. You could make a game about them and we’d root for them. They are YOU but a demon. They’re trying to link their flame and save their race from extinction.
When I first fought Gael, I was coming right off of a two hour training session against Midir. My nerves were heightened, my focus was immense, and I managed to reach Phase 3 on my first try. Then I died because I was careless, only to immediately come back and beat him right after. It was that chain of events that allowed me to appreciate Gael for all he is, a truly perfect end to Dark Souls as a series. That music will always stick with me.
Great list! So good to see someone still appreciating elden ring bosses. My top ten would look like this: 10. The twin princes 9. Lady Maria 8. Sister fride 7. Owl father 6. Radagon/elden beast 5. Mohg lord of blood 4. Slave knight gael 3. Orphan of kos 2. Darkeater midir 1. Isshin the sword saint
@@j4zzboy734 since ive only played elden ring and sekiro im not as qualified to make a list as a lot of you guys, but here is mine: 10: Radagon (including elden beast) 9: Godrick the grafted 8:Great shinobi owl 7:maliketh the Black blade 6: Godfrey, the first elden lord 5: genichiro asshina 4: radahn 3: radagon (elden beast excluded) 2: Owl father 1: isshin the sword saint No level of satisfaction from a game has ever hit as hard as when i beat isshin. The thing about sekiro that i love so much is that it almost feel like you Enter some sort of “calm” State that allows you to seamlesly deflect every blow for a time, that i, as much as i love elden ring, wasnt able to achieve in Any other game. Is it still worth it to play Dark souls 3 to this Day, and should i play it on pc or console? Also, should i prioritize playing bloodborne or DS3?
@@mathiaschristensen8387 bloodborne is a masterpiece but only available on ps4(and maybe ps5), dark souls 3 is really great, it has the best boss fights and lore, and the dlcs are the true masterpiece, if you mastered Elden ring then you won't have no problems, also i recommend you play DS1 before DS3. also i found DS3 a bit easy on pc.
I absolutely love the fact you put Gael at number 1. He is by far the best boss in the entire series. It's not even close between him and second place. I can literally sit there and die to Gael for hours and hours in the higher NG+ runs but each and every time I enjoy the experience. The OST for Gael is stunning, and the fight is just next level awesome. I could talk all day about how much I love the Gael fight but I think you get the idea. He is just the best boss From Software has ever made and the fact he's the final boss of the final DLC of the final Dark Souls game just makes it that much better. They knew they had to deliver a stunning boss for the finale and they absolutely killed it and I'm not sure Gael will ever be topped
@@willh3212 I like OnS don’t get me wrong and I wish more bosses were like that, but honestly I kinda found them a bit too easy and most of the fight is spend carting them around running away so I didn’t find it all that engaging. Smough has like 2 attacks and that’s kinda just the nature of DS1 bosses in the base game
I first wanted to say the rankings have been great especially this one, the reasoning and description for each one has been even better and deserving of Fromsoftware quality and that it was good to hear some fresh takes about Maliketh, Mohg and demon prince making an appearence which is why I wanted to give my view: 10. Knight Artorias: While Dark souls 1 bosses are still good thematically and visually seeing as i'd played games like bloodborne and Ds3 before hand most bosses ended feeling a bit underwhelming however the dlc bosses really began to scratch that itch. Every fight is great in the dlc but I have to give it to Artorias. The same way Orstein and Smough made duo fights popular im confident it was Artorias who inspired the one on one fights we see throughout souls. Everything about the fight is spot on with the tragic lore also having an impact on Sif and his boss fight, the soundtrack which is tragic yet when the choir kicks in seems to inspire hope to best this fallen hero, the visuals showcasing his decay and state after manus with his dangling arm working as a feint to splash the abyss and the gameplay which I really like for it's simplicity after fighting harder bosses in the series with every attack having a clear direction you need to roll and the punishment for being hit is tough but fair and not being able to heal until after a move can leave you quite panicked but is not to hard to get used to which I also like. 9.Owl Father: Now there are two varients of this fight and while I appreciate Great Shinobi thematically more than Owl Father the poision is really bad to deal with if you don't use shruiken when he recovers posture and the bomb stopping healing I personally find really awkward to avoid and deal damage at the same time. First of all the gameplay is obviously great and like any other Sekiro boss demands precision throughout with this especially true throughout with his overhead strike turning into a slash if dodged to early, his firecracker attack which can be either dodged or you can do a thrust attack after deflecting being one of the few opportunities you can do so and the owl attack which if not deflected will have you miss out on good posture of the sweep or good vitality damage from the overhead and while I like the owl attack and it unlocking your camera to add to the suspense of when owl will strike it can take away from the immersion. I also think the soundtrack is criminally underrated with it retaining the bombastic and climatic feel of a dark souls 3 soundtrack while retaining the Japanese feel unique to Sekiro and the lore is a breath of fresh air too. Throughout Sekiro your conflicting foes who impact your journey and your quest to stop the dragon's heritage spreading further to man by any means necessary however with Owl father and Great Shinobi Owl are the only times your resolving a conflict within yourself. 8. Soul Of Cinder: In my opinion and while I am sure this will cause some debate I believe this fight transcends the final boss Gwyn from dark souls 1 in every way. The presentation is amazing accurately showcasing all the types of players and builds of players who linked the first flame which is honestly genius and intertwines perfectly into the dark souls lore and it's endless cycles. We start of with a pure melee in the form of a straight sword resembling a quality build, the sorcerer form an intelligence build, the curved sword form a pyromancer build and the greatspear form coming with miracles a faith build. The arena is also stunning with it being a wide plain of ash coated in withered flowers and weapons buried in the ground of warriors long past with a giant tree serving as a beautiful backdrop and while the soundtrack in phase one is a good buildup to the second phase the transcends this boss into top 10 territory now a new refined version of Gwyn's moveset with some lightning attacks adding some extra flare with the soundtrack from the first game making a spectacular, emotional return showing us that sometimes more can be said and showcased with a few piano notes than any fully fledged hidden lore the games have to offer making for a very special experience. 7. Demon Prince: In my opinion this is not only the best demon boss by far but also the best duo fight in the series. The reason I feel it's so good is the tranformations between melee and ranged which works because of how well telegraphed the switch between states is aswell as the ranged attack like the frontal poision blast telegraphed a second before it deals damage. To put it simply Demon Prince does not have to reinforce your fighting two enemies because it feels like your just fighting one demon( usually the melee varient) but you have something else to worry about in the form of the ranged one. It's like Rykard who despite needing a specific weapon to deal good damage doesn't let the gimic take over from the combat and experience rather it build's on it, Midir doesen't take away from the combat experience of soul games it adds to it by utilizing the size and presence of Midir rather than making that the main thing to take from the fight and Demon Prince adds to the traditional experience experience by giving two foes to keep an eye on but not in a way that is overwhelming. The second phase also presents a mechanic of high quality being that the super attack the demon prince can preform depending on which demon is killed last in phase 1 adding further to the experience I was talking about. And the soundtrack in phase 2 is so underrated it's shocking with this building tempo identical to the building tension as the demon soars overhead to throw fireballs or dig it's claws into the ground for a trail of fire aswell it's seems the music is timed so when the soundtrack hit's it high the demon will do it super attack. Overall an amazing and intriguing boss throughout. 6. Father Gascoigne: As you can probably see from the video pretty much all the best bosses in the series come later in the game and for good reason seeing as the experience usually challenges the players skill and playstyle to a higher extent, harder and more complex mechanics are given making them stand out and their position in your journey gives them a climatic feeling you cant get in the mid or early game however what will always matter most to me at least is the execution and that is the main reason so many of the end game and dlc bosses are so memorable and is also why Gascoigne probably the surprising pick is on this list. Gascoigne is an early game boss executed to perfection. He has all the qualitys you could ask of a good early game boss by teaching new and old players alike to adjust to bloodborne and it's aggressive style that can be utilized in every hunter boss such as stagger where rather than waiting for a hunter boss to finish attacking it can be very viable to attack them during their combo especially if you've just been hit after a failed dodge as you can now regain your health through the rally system, it teaches you the importance of locking on so you can quickstep and keep up the pace with the boss and how effective parrying can be against these hunters however making it clear if you get careless in your aggression the same can happen to you. And the best thing is Gascoigne shares many of the quality of the late game bosses too such as the incredible music in Gascoigne's case this foreboding, suspense filled track hinting at something deeper within Gascoigne until transforming into an erratic, mindless beast now ditching the technique of a hunter in favor of long, thrashing combos with the soundtrack now playing at full speed and blast to accompany the panic of the situation . And Gascoigne also shares the great lore. Normally the best lore in these games are ones of tragic irony and Gascoigne is no exception as for one he is a hunter meant to eradicate the beastly scrouge yet as we can see as succumbed to it himself and in his beaslty rage is speculated to have killed his wife Viola while others speculate it was the Yharnam villagers that killed her in their corrupted form and in a rage Gascoigne killed them as we see when entering the fight and that's how he succumbed to the bloodlust of a beast and like anything to do with fromsoft lore we are left to piece things together ourselves but by now i'm sure you get the point. Overall a masterpiece of a boss and as of writing this i'm considering moving him up into the top 5 but I will leave him here for now. For those who are somehow still reading I want to thank you for hearing me out. I will do the top 5 when i feel motivated to comment again and in the replies as I feel this comment is long enough.
5.Gherman the First Hunter: Gherman in my opinion is the best boss on this list thematically because of how well it subverts the expectations of the player. Throughout bloodborne you've fought viscous beasts, blood drunk hunters and unfathomable beings of the cosmos and Gherman to you at least seems like one of the only people left with his sanity. He motivates you to continue forward, gives you advice on where to go and watches over the hunter's dream. However if you are observant and curious you may be able to glimpse Gherman's true feelings on the matter as he pleads to Laurence and those he knows and cares about to save him from a reality he can't escape. And finally at the hunt's end he offers to show you mercy by killing you and freeing you from the dream. Whether it be out of kindness to free Gherman as he wants to with you or because you are captivated by his opposition you stand to face him. Yet you begin to look around you; there are flowers and graves, it looks peaceful and as you begin to fight Gherman your shocked at the peace and quiet of the situation after all the horrors the game has put you through and the soundtrack accompanies this feeling beautifully. The track is somber and gentle rising and falling to represent the feeling of hope the first hunter is feeling who is driven by the hope to kill us so we don't have to go through the hopelessness that is the hunter's dream and that has ruined him. As for gameplay I don't have much to say about gameplay as I believe the lore and spectacle is the standout here and he is rather similar to to all the other hunter bosses which isn't as bad thing considering bloodborne in my opinion is rather lacking of them and they are the most dynamic fights in the game however one thing I appreciate about Gherman is how he teaches you the timing of when to quickstep towards and away as you will find more success stepping back until the last hit of his combo where you can step in to get a good few hits. Altogether a great boss in every aspect and the bosses only get better from here. 4.Darkeater Midir: In my opinion Midir is not only the best dragon boss but the best beast boss period. They got so many things right with Midir it's unbelievable. First of THANK GOD his entire body doesen't count as a hitbox otherwise attacks like the charge or rampage where he breaths fire and hits with his claws in tandem would be nearly impossible to balance in terms of width and even then if you carelessly try to run under him during a combo he will breath fire beneath him on these unsuspecting players. Secondly forcing players to hit the head for maximum damage gives you the feeling of a dance many of the bosses on this list as they are now forced to dodge Midir rather than abuse his size something again not many beast bosses get right. And lastly the downtime between attacks when he puts his head down always lets the player know when Midir is open and again because your always funneled at the front of him you should always be offered fair counter opportunities and that's despite the fact Midir like Elden Beast has a tendency to run the other side of the arena it should become clear which attacks will trigger this retreat unlike Elden Beast who can run off whenever it wants. The overall gameplay experience this creates might be the most balanced experience on this list as you dodge through his fierce flames and narrowly avoid his sharp claws with a consistent pace throughout despite the enormous amount of health. The visuals are also amazing fighting a dragon consumed by the abyss in this dark damp chasm makes you feel trapped when faced with such a large foe as well as Midir and his moveset himself with attacks like the laser beam being one of the best animated attacks in the series and while the laser's damage can be cheap I never have an issue with it as im always closing distance and dealing enough damage to bypass it altogether but again getting one-shot at around 20 to 30 vigor is always cheap. And I love the Epic, grand soundtrack in phase 2 reinforcing the courage and heroism that is felt and conveyed by slaying such a large dragon. This is not to say all the over bosses on the list aren't balanced but with how much could have gone wrong and seeing how much they got right is why I think Midir is the most balanced boss in the series. 3.Ludwig the Holy Blade: This boss has to have not only the best visuals in soulsborne but some of the best in video games as a whole. This boss captures everything bloodborne represents from the floor covered in blood and bodies of people trapped in the nightmare, to Ludwig and his design meant to mirror and everything about himself in this twisted, sick manner. From the mouth filled with eyes shooting arcane beams resembling the countless insight he was provided by partaking in the hunt, to his beastly arms identical to the numerous werewolves hinting what he held and used in that arm made Ludwig as much of a beast himself, his head twisted and mangled to look like the face of a person and horse in one and his white church robe hinting at who and what he was. As it turns out in the lore Ludwig was the first hunter of the church and established the church workshop after needing to handle larger and more powerful beasts. In these hunts( If I remember the lore correctly) left him with some kind of fear and one day upon exploring the chalice dungeons found the Moonlight Greatsword that was had a will of it's own that began speaking to Ludwig and from then on he was said to be ruthless, showing no mercy for these beasts once turned human and for such bloodshed was placed in the hunter's nightmare to suffer. In phase 1 he starts as a beast mindlessly charging towards us slashing with his claws, jumping into the air to unlock our camera before diving back on us and aggressively pursuing us throughout showing no signs of humanity or emotion until phase 2. Phase 2 starts with the best boss cutscene in the series when the moonlight Greatsword begins to communicate with Ludwig and in turn he begins to speak in an unbelievable turn of events. This man who mere moments ago has trying to tear you apart and was screaming in bloodlust now rises up on his hindlegs hold his sword in hand and begins to fight with a steady hand and unrivaled courage as the music is booming in the background bombastically. His strikes are fast, strong but controlled the opposite of a beast making for some tough but fair combos to dodge as he slams waves of moonlight in your direction. And finally in a cinematic finish akin to Midir he goes down with a critical attack afterwards letting you talk to his severed head who asks if his efforts of establishing the workshop were worth it. You can either lie convincing Ludwig they fought the beasts off and let him and his fears die peacefully or tell him the truth about the beasts now overrunning Yharnam and that everything he did was in vain. 2.Isshin the Sword Saint: The reason I have Isshin so high on the list is that like my 1st pick brings out the best from all the greatest qualities in their respective games in this case Sekiro. Isshin puts everything you've learned about the combat to the test a final time with deflections, counter slash, mikiri counters, jumping over sweeps and lightning reversal all of which being required for a win the same for most main bosses which I like because Sekiro is always making sure you give the combat the respect and attention it deserves. However that just if you use the basic combat where as if you use what i'm going to call " advanced combat" the fight and combat transcend to another level with the use of prosthetics and combat arts. If you don't believe me here are a few examples such as being able to close the distance with shuriken and chasing slice at long range or the spear at medium range to either drag Isshin towards you where you can follow up with quick weapon arts such as whirlwind slash or nightjar slash and using the reversal gives you distance to repeat this, after countering a sweep from Isshin you can use the axe or Ichimonji for increased posture damage and vitality or use senpou leaping kicks for increased posture, you can use mist raven if Isshin puts you in a long combo and follow up upon getting above or behind him even being able to use longer weapon arts if you use mist raven on Isshin last attack such as ashina cross and mortal draw, you can put distance between you and Isshin with the spring flame vent dealing damage to Isshin and letting you buff your weapon with living force or letting you use a sugar and umbrella can be a great prosthetic defensively if your in a bad spot or offensively if used in Isshin's last combo hit allowing you to use projected force. The greatest thing is these are just the strategies I came up with and I imagine there is much more and that's another thing I appreciate about sekiro rewarding not just perseverance but a careful and thoughtful study of your opponent and in what ways you can counter with it feeling most rewarding on Isshin given he is the final boss. While I appreciate the lore of Isshin and thematically fighting in the place you faced your first boss only to be reduced to nothing only to come back and fight the most accomplished swordsman ever it just doesen't hold a candle to how well Isshin personifies and captures Sekiro as a game along with his quote " Hesitation is Defeat" making me look back on all the mistakes I ever made in these games once I understood how accurate it was. 1.Slave Knight Gael
This has honestly been a great series. And looking at your list, I can definitely agree with all of the picks, as every single one of these bosses are honestly some of the best boss fights throughout my experience in video games. My top 10 is as follows (starting from 10): 10. Orphan of Kos: the ultimate Vibe Check. Honestly fighting Orphan has been the most adrenaline inducing experience in all of Fromsoft, particularly that Phase 2. That being said he’s a really intense and engaging fight (although some can consider him a bit *too* intense and engaging) and defeating him gave a sense of relief that’s only matched by a certain Goddess of Rot. 9. Beast Clergyman/Maliketh: as you have already said in the video, Maliketh is probably the most perfect mechanical fight with traditional Fromsoft gameplay. Where careful positioning and knowledge of his patterns and attacks rewards you immensely. My main problem is generally first phase where he is hectic to an almost unreasonable degree lol, but that’s more on me instead of the boss itself. I also love the fact that this is the boss where the traditional “wait after he attacks, then punish” doesn’t really work so instead you need to attack him AS he was attacking. Overall a fantastic boss fight bogged down by a really tricky Phase 1. 8. Owl (Father): honestly speaking, this should be the best mechanical fight in Sekiro to me. His combos are very well telegraphed, he fully utilized every mechanic the game teaches you, wrapped up in a very fast and deceiving pace to throw you off-guard. This honestly feels like you’re fighting an older more complete version of Wolf, which both makes sense lore wise as well as being a fantastic encounter to learn and master. That isn’t even mentioning the Phase 2 where he can vanish into his owl that makes you use the CAMERA to find him but also provide with a very reliable source of punishment should you learn the timing of deflects. Like I said however, he SHOULD be further up, but a certain version of him outdoes everything he does and more. 7. (Inner) Isshin: unlike Owl, I’m lumping in both versions of Isshin into one as I don’t find the difference between the two versions that significant like Owl or Genichiro. That being said, everything said in the video completely applies to my experience too. Isshin is the perfect blend of cinematic flourish and gameplay. His Phase 2 (since I don’t count Genichiro 3 as a phase) is honestly a really fun fight while also being one of the most challenging fight in the franchise. His spear timings are oddly delayed, while the sword attacks are as swift as the fastest attacks in any game. Top it all off with the lore and narrative and you have a probably the best Final Boss Fromsoft has ever put out. 6. Demon Prince: the best Gank Fight in the series. Period. Everything about the first phase is the ultimate multi-boss fight experience, from the split aggressiveness of both Demons, the very well telegraphed toxic clouds that keeps you on your toes and prevents you from being too focused on a single demon, not to mention the clear and crisp animations of their attacks that is both flashy and easy to grasp. And to top it all off with 2 variations of Phase 2 with their own tendencies, attacks, and animations all decided upon on who you kill first? And you have the recipe for the most under appreciated boss fight in the series. 5. Mohg, Lord of Blood: back when I first played the game, I probably wouldn’t have put him anywhere near the top 10. I was enjoying the Phase 1 since I never fought the Sewer variant, but as soon as that Nihil hit I was practically scrambling the rest of the way. I somehow managed to finish him off with a combination of Redmane Knight Ogha, Moonveil, and a lot of panicked Transient Moonlight. I thought he was kinda bullshit and too much of a hectic fight to be enjoyable. But then on my 2nd character I decided I want his weapon early. And boy did that opinion immediately flip 180 degrees. His attacks are oddly delayed but very telegraphed, his openings are fair and fun to figure out, and this time around I got the Physick tear before fighting him so the Nihil can be used to plan the 2nd half of the fight as well as to wail on him. Phase 2 however is where everything clicks. The bloodflame that I thought was bullshit actually incentivizes you to be mindful of your positioning as well as where you roll, his increased aggression makes it so YOU in turn need to be aggressive lest he push you into a corner both literally and figuratively. All this makes him probably my most replayed boss in the game, to the point where I can comfortably no-hit him with a faster weapon. That being said, the reason why he’s not higher is his resistances, or rather lack of it can really trivialize him. Oh and his theme is an absolute banger. (Continued in replies)
(Continued from above) 4. Godfrey/Hoarah Loux: I think I’ve sung this boss fight phrases on this channel before lol. But I can say that it’s for good reason. Godfrey is, as I’ve said it before, the peak of Elden Ring combat. His axe swings has a rhythm to it that makes dodging it intuitive and fun, his stomps are completely countered by jumping attacks yet by going to close he will physically stomp you so positioning yourself matters, not to mention his attacks in both phases can be reliably strafed to his left in order to give yourself some breathing room. Speaking of breathing room, the moment Godfrey pulls out his Arena-wide AoEs is the moment the fight truly starts. He is FAR more aggressive with the buff applied, having almost 0 moment to let you get away and heal, making it so you need to earn the heals you can get in the fight where you would ideally need none. However, my favorite part of this encounter is easily Hoarah Loux. He is possibly the most unique fight in the series, utilizing grabs, bare fists, combos, and relentless aggression to keep you on your toes. Hoarah Loux never backs away, literally. Whereas other bosses has moves where they back away to “reset” the fight like Malenia blocking and stepping away, Radagon’s Teleport, Maliketh’s backflip, and even Godfrey’s circling stomp. The only move Hoarah Loux has to give himself breathing room is his roar, which is usually followed up by either the giant fissure, or into another set of combos. His animations are honestly some of the best in the series, complete with tells all over his body, a proper conveying of speed and strength from via stretch and squash and his effects, and also chaining into each other seamlessly. And while this reads like a boss where you just sit back and watch as he does cool stuff, this couldn’t be further from the truth. With aggression of your own, proper dodges to the correct side, and his relatively poor tracking and resistances, you can fight Hoarah Loux just as aggressively as he fights you. Just don’t be afraid to trade blows (although not meaning facetank everything) and I can guarantee that Hoarah Loux is a lot of fun. The only reason why he’s not cracking the top 3 is really because the 3 bosses above him does everything he does but *just* a bit better. 3. Inner Father: this guy imo, is the best mechanical fight in Fromsoft history. While the lore of the Inner Bosses are iffy at best, the fights are far and away the reason why he’s so high on this list. Inner Father does everything Owl does and cranked it up to 15. He is faster, stronger, far more unpredictable, and in my opinion made original Father fight slow in comparison. In all honesty, I cannot put it into words just how much fun I have fighting him. So I’m not gonna (lol). All I can say is that, if I ever have a bad and/or stressful day, I can just boot up Sekiro, fight Inner Father, and my day would instantly be better because of it regardless if I lose or not. And really, is there a bigger endorsement than that? 2. Ludwig, the Accursed/the Holy Blade: the top 2 bosses holds a very special place in my heart, and you already know who’s number 1 just from this pick lol. As a bit of a context, Bloodborne is my first Fromsoft game, and I got it because at that time PS Plus had the game as a free download for members. I decided to try it out, and after quitting twice in Central Yharnam before even meeting Gascoigne and a guide to get started later, It is now my favorite game of all time. However, one thing I felt during this time was in all honesty how overblown the difficulty is. I died a lot of course, but there hasn’t really been a wall where I got stuck on a boss or area ever since I got past Gascoigne and understood the combat. So after being left wanting more after I finished the game, I decided to buy the DLC and play it on NG+. And wow what an experience it was, Old Hunters is definitely the best DLC content Fromsoft has ever put out. But instead of going more in-depth I want to talk about the highlight of that DLC, and that is definitely Ludwig. His fight in the first phase was where the “beast-like” design of boss fights finally clicked to me, with a way to differentiate his attacks from looking at his animations, his sound cues, and even getting a feeling to anticipate a surprise attack. With his bloated NG+ HP, I got to experience the entirety of his moveset for hours and there isn’t a single time where I ever felt frustrated or cheated. Everything about the Accursed is intense, horrifying, yet intuitive, fun, and really satisfying to get down. And when that cutscene hit and he revealed the Holy Moonlight Sword? That cutscene gave me chills to this day. The Holy Blade is another fantastic fight. With combos that flow between one another, a very well telegraphed moveset with his sword swings, and ranged attacks and huge AoEs to keep you on your toes at all times. Honestly if this fight were 2 separate fights, both will definitely crack into my top 15 or even top 10, but together? Combined with the lore, music, and presentation? This fight holds a very special place in my heart and honestly could’ve been number 1. 1. Slave Knight Gael: but he’s not, because number 1 is a spot reserved by the perfection that is Slave Knight Gael. He is without a doubt the best boss fight Fromsoft has ever put out. His fight is as perfect a boss fight can be with Fromsoftware’s Souls-like gameplay. While I can usually separate each phases of the fight to discuss it individually I can’t with Gael, because both phases serves into each other so well, with the wild flailing of Phase 1 priming you for the intense flurries of Phases 2 and 3. He is one of the first boss to really incentives you to not dodge anywhere but instead to a proper direction, and he does so in a way that is yet to be matched. His flurry in phase 2 is relentless yet fully readable like Hoarah Loux, his lightning in Phase 3 also made the positioning of your character important like Mohg, his aggression and presentation is above even Inner Father, and the contrast between his phases is similar to Ludwig only it meshes together far more perfectly. His theme is my favorite in the franchise, and his fight is one where for the first time in the series I had to fully strategize to overcome. To add to all this, his lore about consuming the Dark Soul knowing you’ll put him out of his misery to fulfill his mission to the Painter, while also helping you throughout both DLCs is tragic in all the best ways. Honestly I couldn’t think of a better boss fight to end Dark Souls even if you lock me up in a room for 15 years. Gael is the best boss fight I have ever experienced, and a perfect bookend to this amazing franchise.
@@skinless5136 Dark Souls 1 bosses are pretty aged at this point imao, majority of the bosses have movesets that you can count in a flash, Going back to Dark Souls 1 after playing Dark Souls 3 or any other modern Formsoft games doesn't click anymore, don't let your nostalgia carried you away. Dark Souls 3 has the best bosses then Bloodborne or Elden RIng, Sekiro has the most consistant boss rooster bosses but sadly majority of em lacks the spectacle. Anyway its from Bloodborne from where Formsofts bosses actually started to became incredble and make Dark Souls 1 look aged....Anyway, I think Issin and Gael is pinnacle among fromsoft bosses.
You should have mentioned Dragonlord Placidusax (or whatever is it spelled) from Elden Ring. He`s bid and menacing in his throne beyond time, the music is amazing, and very cinematic. He literally looks better than the cutscenes. Also he`s got some good lore.
@@garlicdragon8664 dragonlord was more graphically stunning than challenging which is why i wouldn't consider him to be in the top 10, unlike midir who is probably my hardest boss in all the souls games .
@@bazplayzyt6207 I gotta give props to midir for being the first good dragon fight and he is somewhat challenging but honestly play elden ring and then midir and he’s pretty much just as hard as any of the later game dragons you fight minus having more space
Gael took me an admittedly shameful amount of time to beat, but despite that, every time I died I never got mad or upset because I thought the fight was just so fun and absolutely awesome. Now whenever I’m on NG+ I always speed run to the the ringed city so I can fight him again
Man making a top 10 with elden ring would be pretty difficult, I think my top will go something like this 1. Gael 2. Midir 3. Sword saint isshin 4. Sister friede 5. Starscourge radahn 6. Owl father 7. Ludwig the holy blade 8. Orphan of kos 9. Mohg lord of blood 10. The nameless king
Tbh, my list wouldn't change with Elden Ring because I wouldn't put any ER boss in my top 10. Rykard gets close but is beaten out by Divine Dragon as the best Fromsoft gimmick boss.
When the list was closing in on #3 I was chanting in my mind “Ludwig and Gael” lmao. Glad those were your picks! Ludwig was the first boss between ds3 and bloodborne that I had to take more than 5 attempts to kill. It literally took me like 30 attempts, and I’m so happy it did. I also listen to the boss theme from time to time because of how great it is. What an amazing boss, and an amazing game.
For me, I didnt truly appreciate Gael until I beat him entirely by myself... and then I realized what an absolute banger gigchad alpha male spectacle of a boss fight he is
1. Genichiro 2. Ludwig 3. Pontiff 4. Gael 5. Artorias 6. Godfrey/Hoarah Loux 7. Margit/Morgott 8. Isshin Sword Saint 9. Orphan of Kos 10. Sir Alonne Loved your list too! ❤️
1. Malenia 2. Manus 3. Ludwig 4. Godfrey first chad 5. Mohg Lord of blood 6. Orphan of Kos 7. Demon Prince 8. Father Owl 9. Demon of Hatred 10. Lady Maria
Man, Gael struck such an accord with me as a Boss Encounter and spectacle, that he inspired one of my BBEGs of one of my DnD campaigns. What a friggin boss fight. One of my favorites. Not to mention his Boss theme is just pure bliss in my opinion.
Gael is the best boss in the entire franchise ,THE battle for the last dark soul at the end of Time , fighting a monstrosity that's a replica of yourself, the fight that's tough and fair ,with a Goated ost ,this fight is perfection.
Really great list man! Your commentary is very good and the editing is superb. My own Top 10 would prolly go like this (havent played Sekiro, Demons' Souls or ER tho): 1. Darkeater Midir 2. Slave Knight Gael 3. Orphan of Kos 4. Sister Friede/Father Ariandel and Friede/Blackflame Friede 5. Twin Princes 6. Soul of Cinder 7. Ludwig the Accursed/Ludwig, the Holy Blade 8. Demon Princes 9. Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower 10. King of the Storm/Nameless King EDIT: List has changed after I replayed the games a bit!
Not saying you shouldnt play it, but in my opinion demons souls has really bad bosses. In addition to them being old and unrefined, almost all of them are gimmick fights and it feels like only three or four of them depend on skill to win, with the rest just being the ability to find the gimmick. Still a good game in other aspects though, so i would reccomend playing it.
Sekiro and Elden Rings have some great bosses. I haven't played Demon's Souls, but it's never in any rankings, when it gomes to the best bosses in the series
@@The__Thunder__ Couldn't agree more. And since there are no checkpoints (yes, there are some shortcuts), if you die to one of these gimmick bosses, you get to do the level over. So much fun!
I was surprised to see Dark Eater Midir on this list. My initial reaction to him was “fuck this shit’s impossible”. Then much later I must’ve found out about the katana he unlocks so I went back and figured I’d try coop to take him down, but either no one would be available near his arena or they’d die instantly. So I did what I did for every difficult Fromsoft boss. I got naked and went in solo. Sure I died many times but my nothing to lose mentality method always improves me in the most effective and fastest way. It worked for sister freide when all else failed. It worked for Midir. I conquered him and got that epic ass katana. I did it naked and I loved that boss fight
I knew Gaels fight was something special the moment I've first encountered him. As you said, this Boss has it all. Balance, cool setup, awesome soundtrack and glorious animations. However, Radahn is for me the best fight in Series history. The set up: You fight a God of war on a battlefield, dead corpses of other warriors laying around. The fight: The sense of summoning an army of warriors to defeat this Boss is just so epic. And the fight as a whole, from the Meteor to his Attacks is just jaw dropping. The music: Hardly can get better than that for me.
I feel like the reason I've felt somewhat slightly underwhelmed by Elden ring was cuz I was expecting fromsoft to be able to top Slave knight Gael as their best boss, and I was kinda disappointed that they didn't. However over time I've come to appreciate the fights of morgott, mohg, Godfrey, radhan, Maliketh, Placidusax ans radagon and the dance that you do with them to ensure victory. That being said I think it would have to take something truly special to beat Slave Knight Gael in gameplay, environment and OST. He's a test of endurance and attrition while also having the mechanics to always make sure that it never feels like a slog. It's thematically a perfect end to the dark souls trilogy that, while following the typical "honourable man with sword who has gone mad", feels more personal amongst all the lords of cinder and dragons and beasts that ds3 is full of. It's a great ending to a great game
@@flynnegan2880 that's what makes me excited for the future of elden ring; knowing that fromsoft can add DLCs that could likely enhance the base games. It will be interesting cuz I don't feel like they can top leyndell in terms of level design and just sheer scale but then again, anything is possible with fromsoft
While mechanically Malenia and Maliketh are slightly more engaging to me despite the first's hiccups, Gael simply has an oomf factor which I can never get over. He is my favorite boss ever. And I don't think any boss is going to top it thematically anytime soon for me.
I often disagree with the whole Midir being the hardest boss argument, but when it comes to quality... Best Dragon ever indeed. He was my fave on the dlc from the get go
I spent 4 straight days fighting Gael and when I finally beat him, I immediately started NG+ because I had to get back and fight him again as quickly as possible
1. Maliketh 2. Midir 3. Gael 4. Isshin 5. Godfrey 6. Mohg 7. Morgott 8. Nameless King 9. Dragonslayer Armour 10. Pontiff Sulyvahn Haven't played Bloodborne or Demon's Souls because I have a Xbox
Maliketh is handily the best boss fight in Elden Ring, it's just so damn cool, and ridiculously hard to boot. Ludwig and Gael are a deserved top 2 for sure. Ludwig's music is so daman good.
23:47 gets even better when you factor in the other sounds, the crash of the lightning, Gaels low yet intimidating grunts and the loud *clang* of his broken sword as he swings it with reckless abandon. Gael is the epitome of Dark Souls mechanics and lore, for he is a reflection of many of our characters: an old warrior who has survived literally all of time through his determination to his cause, now a broken hollow husk wielding a broken sword as he fights a meaningless battle for something of no worth. Gael is without a doubt my favourite fight in video games, period. He is the only boss I willingly died to at the end just fight him over and over again so I could perfect his fight
THANK GOD, THANK GOD GAEL WAS No.1. MUSIC, SETTING, CONTEXT, MECHANICS, DRIP, MOVESET, did I mention the MUSIC! Best soundtrack in the entire series no debate.
@@Nightwalk2 not sure which phase of Gael is my favorite musically and mechanically but I’d have to say 3 overall since it gets a 2nd rendition musically, For the Dark Soul, and for the lightning.
I really learned to appreciate elden ring bosses when I learned how to play more aggressive and make use of heavy and jumping attacks, poise breaking is a great mechanic and it was heavily emphasized in elden ring. I realized I was back peddling way to much in fights do to fear of getting wham bam thank you ma’amed
hell yeah, Mohg does not get enough love imo. I also love Maliketh but he just takes so much damage when hit same with Fortisax, i wish both had a bit more HP.
I absolutely agree with you on Mohg, probably my second favorite boss on ER behind Godfrey, the only thing i don´t like that much is that you have to withstand the Nihil attack if you don´t get the purifying thing, it´s pretty weird.
I genuinely think every game that from swoftware has released have been absolute bangers, like even ds2 by froms standards, it wasn’t that good, by modern standards, it’s a masterpiece lol, and elden ring, sekiro and bloodbourne are some of the best games ever realesed, also imo Maliketh best boss
10: Gael 9: Gehrman 8: Genichiro 7: Guardian Ape 6: Blood Starved Beast 5: Isshin (Ashina) 4: Isshin (Sword Saint) 3: Ludwig 2: Orphan of Kos 1: Father Gascoine I love Gascoine bro, his aggression, his voice, his different phases, his backstory. Masterpiece of boss design along with Orphan who is an incredibly close second.
@@LowIntSpecimen I love Blood Starved Beast, I love a good monster boss when it behaves like a monster. Ruthless, gory and doesn't give you a break other than when it can't see you. Don't forget the music.
To be honest, I’ve never understood the people saying sword saint isshin is the hardest boss, maybe it’s just me, but I beat him in a few attempts my first run and still do in every run, instead I think Melania, and demon of hatereat are the hardest for me
So when I first went up against Midir I was extremely scared that it was going to be a impossible fight, so my dumbass decided to wait until NG+2 to fight em.
I think that in regards to the wow factor, they did a great job with the Inner versions of some bosses in sekiro, but specifically owl. Inner Owl goes absolutely ham on you with crazy mobility and spectacle, thats both familiar (because you have the tools, so you have an idea of what to expect) and unique to combat, like the owl and fire attacks. i was really impressed by the inner version of this fight and had to relearn a lot to master him.
It's just the combat system in DS2 is not as satisfying as the other games. It's worlds are the best in the series and the boss designs are also some of the best. I just dislike the way the game plays sometimes...
@@Sadistic_77 Very true. Most of the time I was fighting against the janky combat system. Roll, execute a hit in and miss by 90 degrees, and of course if you didn't have ADP it was an absolute nightmare to fight most of the bosses.
Solid Top 10. Gael completely deserves Top 1, like the rambling said. Tbh Ludwig top 2 and Gael 1 is generic, generic isn’t bad by default, just pointing this out because if you ever felt afraid of “following the standard” for putting Gael first, then Ludwig is just as guilty for always being on the top spots in this kind of list. And about not wanting to put Gael as number 1 at first, it is also understandable. If we were to be extremely strict with ranking and created categories, then Gael would likely suffer. His design is kinda generic as a knight who got buffed by the Dark Soul, and the only “stand out” feature is the glowing red Dark Soul on his chest. Yet he still deserves Top 1, the gameplay is on another level, a beautiful dance! And the red skulls into lighting is simply eye candy!
Haven't played Demon's Souls, Bloodborne and the second half of Sekiro but for me it's 1. Midir 2. Gael 3. Friede 4. Godfrey 5. Radagon / Elden Beast 6. Morgott 7. Malenia 8. Champion Gundyr 9. Fume Knight 10. Artorias
This list was based as hell and looks near identical to my own, so maybe I'm a bit biased lol. I share your opinion on the Beast Clergyman, took me a while to warm up to it but when I did, I realized it was the perfect compliment to phase 2. Other than that, you really did make me reconsider my thoughts on the Twin Demons, I'll be sure to show them some extra love on my next playthrough!
Before Elden Ring, Gael was my top 1 boss, and there was nothing that could move him from there. He had the best mechanics, best music, best arena, best setup, best everything. But... I just enjoy fighting Radahn more now. I like Radahns music more, his arena more, the setpiece more. Yes, mechanically, Gael is still better, but I just enjoy Radahn that tiny bit more, making him my new love.
@@thanasesstratoures9201 To be honest, I like Radahns music more. Yes, Gaels phase 2 music is great, but phase 1 is a bit underwhelming and phase 3 a little too chaotic. Radahn, however, is special in the music department. It might just be the only track in whole of soulsborne that sounds actually truly heroic, and has that sad sound in the end, as if you are putting a tortured hero to death because you have to.
I respect your list and personally my top 10 would be 10: Ludwig 9:Demon Prince 8:Gael 7:Morgott 6:Orphan of Kos 5:Maliketh 4:Friede 3:Malenia 2:Mohg 1: Radahn I have played sekiro but don’t think it’s fair to compare souls bosses to sekiro bosses since one of the main aspects of these fights is the build you choose, with sekiro only having one
Great list. Although I would’ve switched Ludwig with the orphan. For me the orphan of kos is by far the best boss in bloodborne. There is one thing about the boss that represents bloodborne perfectly: fear. You’re actually scared of the boss. Something which isn’t too special but when thinking about what you’ve encountered on your journey to the orphan and still getting scared of is is simply amazing.
13:08 Definitely my favorite fight from Bloodborne. The first time I fought her, I died SO many times. Like, probably over 50. Then when I recently beat her in NG+, I did it in just 3 tries. And I did that by very good parrying.
Gael goes beyond a boss fight. Gael is not just a boss fight. Gael is a living breathing piece of artwork we engage with through the medium of gaming. If boss fights are artwork - he is the Mona Lisa herself.
@@sickrandy2946 it’s mostly bad soundtracks and lack of interest in the boss itself. Some of them have solid mechanics, but the main thing is the visuals. They’re visually stunning and that’s enough to interest shallow, soul less people like you. I feel sorry for you man
One fact I love about the demon prince is how you can't even access the ringed city unless you kill him first. Most bosses are roadblocks to areas, but this level of challenge so early in the DLC makes an impression.
Apologies on the audio and the editing - I'm on remote setup, and I recorded all of it on my iPhone. I hope you all enjoy anyways! It's been a journey doing this series and I'm so glad you guys joined me on it.

It's all good. Thanks, and congrats on the new found success
Just to let you know I agree I love Artoias being said he didn't defeat the abyss he failed it was the player character who defeated the abyss & Artorias given the credit for it. What is this giveaway thing?
Hard to disagree against Gael. While the fight itself is great, for me its at the top because of what he represents: a perfect end to Dark Souls. Two nobodies fighting in the middle of nowhere with nothing but ash, for something that doesn't matter anymore.
I loved what u said about Gael and you the character. That’s the best description I’ve ever read of the fight. Thank you
Soul of cinder is a good end though too

When I fought Gael for the first time it felt like this fight was what the previous games prepared me for. I never had that much trouble with Gael because everything felt intuitive for me. It was a beautiful, intuitive fight and is also my number 1 in the series.
I feel the same way, while dark souls three was my first dark souls game and Gael wasn’t that hard for me I feel like fights like nameless king or soul of Cinder are the true lessons, and Gael is the final test for something that you’ve already prepared for. (I’m not saying soul of cinder was extremely hard, but I feel the fight was similar)
Gael taught me that I could hold Shift for 0.5 seconds to delay dodge roll
Did you just learn the word "intuitive"?
Gael will probably always be the most thematically perfect fight this studio has ever made. Amazing experience, even if I still find the fight extremely difficult.
True. I think there are fights that I like more mechanically, like Mohg or Father Owl, but the thematic impact of Gael is unmatched
@@cardmossdn8058 Owl Father is fantastic. I just wish getting to that fight wasn't such a pain.
Gael is so so so so good. The fact that he’s the sendoff to an entire trilogy worth of games really adds to his emotional impact. As great as Ludwig is, he’s ultimately just another boss in the BB DLC. Gael, meanwhile, is the end of an era.
@@salsamonkey65 thank god for reflections of strength

That's the same thing I did when I first got into the games as well! Looking forward to seeing you around!
Same! Im new aswell and at the moment im trying to finish ds3. There is no other game as interesting and awe inspiring like soulsbornes to me. Can we all appreciate just how great each genichiro encounter was? When you fight his second phase for the first time and have to parry his lightning, the whole setting was SO badass.
Straight up. Probably in top 5 bosses in all Soulsbourne in my opinion.

Not true at all. In Sekiro, there's all kinds of ways to counter an enemy's attacks. In Dark Souls there's only like two for the most part.
It’s great to see the demon princes getting so much love!
I've only seen one other list where they got their due praise and it was here if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/UjaaL8tGPbo/v-deo.html
That fight really is one of if not the best double fight ever. Love how they can both switch their state of aggression and how the moveset of the 2nd phase can change depending on which demon you slay first.
@@mingQWERTY it's definately the best duo fight fromsoft have created
@@Oknahidwin and then we got godskin duo.. omg how much i hate this fight
Gael is THE boss, such an emotional fight that gives me goosebumps every single time
The Malekith fight is outstanding. It's his jarring speed and agility on top of his power. Had he had 2 health pools, one for each phase I think he'd be higher.
Agreed i adore it but always end up killing him so fast, would def be one of my all time faves with the 2 health pools
Same for morgott. His design and moveset is very engaging and fun to fight, but his hp was low.

No level of satisfaction from a game has ever hit as hard as when i beat isshin. Is it still worth it to play Dark souls 3 to this Day, and should i play it on pc or console? Also, should i prioritize playing bloodborne or DS3?
@@mathiaschristensen8387 bloodborne is a masterpiece but only available on ps4(and maybe ps5), dark souls 3 is really great, it has the best boss fights and lore, and the dlcs are the true masterpiece, if you mastered Elden ring then you won't have no problems, also i recommend you play DS1 before DS3.
also i found DS3 a bit easy on pc.
now that the dlc is out, we all owe mohg an apology
I agree I was extremely impressed with the demon princes boss fight and it’s the best 2v1 fight in the series. I loved it
As much as I love the demon princes, I still prefer ornstein and smough
@@willh3212 Orstein and Smough is so clunky and outdated though, but it is a classic
@@grimreefer213 I guess that’s true, I do still really like the demon princes though
This was a good ending. I really enjoyed watching the rankings as they came out, and I think this was a great way to end it all.
putting maliketh in 10 is higly risky but i 100% agree he's the most underated boss of soulsborn
Gael is the only fight that I felt sad to beat, I really did not want the boss to end. That is saying something of the fight quality!
Gael and maliketh are my personal favourite but none come quite close to bed of chaos
Always glad for Mohg love! My favorite boss in ER.
Same here. I thought it was one of the most rewarding fights
*NIHIL!*
I first wanted to say the rankings have been great especially this one, the reasoning and description for each one has been even better and deserving of Fromsoftware quality and that it was good to hear some fresh takes about Maliketh, Mohg and demon prince making an appearence which is why I wanted to give my view:
Please i wanna know the top 5
Go ahead with top 5
Top five pls
@@cameronmcginley8940 Where is Isshin and Gael? Isshin is my favorite boss in the series so I want to see your reason for putting him so high.
This has honestly been a great series. And looking at your list, I can definitely agree with all of the picks, as every single one of these bosses are honestly some of the best boss fights throughout my experience in video games. My top 10 is as follows (starting from 10):
(Continued from above)

Great top 10. My top 3 are exactly the same and the number 1 pick, you just can’t find a better and more balanced boss fight in any game.
You should have mentioned Dragonlord Placidusax (or whatever is it spelled) from Elden Ring. He`s bid and menacing in his throne beyond time, the music is amazing, and very cinematic. He literally looks better than the cutscenes. Also he`s got some good lore.
he's my favourite boss of Elden Ring, and also Radahn.

1. Darkeater Midir
2. Slave Knight Gael
3. Orphan of Kos
4. Sister Friede/Father Ariandel and Friede/Blackflame Friede
5. Twin Princes
6. Soul of Cinder
7. Ludwig the Accursed/Ludwig, the Holy Blade

1. Orphan of Kos
2. Isshin SS/Inner Isshin
3. Malenia
4. Soul of Cinder
5. Slave Knight Gael
6. Demon of Hatred
7. Darkeater Midir

Doesn't Radahn eat Geal at the start of his cutscene?

Mohg beat the allegations
