      I did that a fair while ago and the only time it stopped was when Pat left the tap on and ran the tank out of water. So far its been perfect. John

      Thanks for watching. My system has not stopped since I did this. Only if there was no power. Must be at least 2 years. John

    I'd get another controller for a backup where we lived last we were on tank and bore water we had to have two spare pumps one for the tanks and one for the bore as we descoverd as renters if a pump went down we had no water untill the landlord pulled their finger out and got it fixed which took a week or two so we had to look out for ourselves after that and have a few spares around.

      Over the years I have been stuck with no water because of pumps. Now we have a 5000 litre tank gravity fed into the house on its own tap with rain water to get us out of trouble. Its a bit low on pressure but at least we can have a drink. John

    thanks for the video, living the dream! I've fitted a couple of the same giantz pressure controllers onto a couple of my almost the same grundfos pumps which i use here on the farm to run some sprinklers etc. Fitted them about a year ago and cant fault them yet!

      Thats good news I tried to find a video about them but came up empty. When I fitted it and started it it worked as it should strait up. John

    Ozito or a better decent brand Prefilter is 100% prevent the sediment inside the pump. Also I would never ever use vinegar,it may destroy seals or damage the impeller really quick. I would leave it with thinned molasses for a week turning it on and off with a timer. Another great video.

      @farminglifeaustralia6716  2 роки тому +1

      I dont think it will hurt the impeller in that pump they are stainless. I think you are right with the molasses idea. I wanted to get the thing running that day so I just went with the quick fix. John

    Good to see you got your plumbing fixed John. I installed a similar switch on my old pump but kept the pressure tank. Will be interesting to see how long they last but at the price i might buy another one and keep it as a spare in the shed.

      My tank was pretty much buggered. I have no idea if it will last but so far good. The pressure switches are more than the whole unit and I have not had a perfect run with them by any stretch of the imagination. You just know anything with points in them are going to fail sooner or later. I still have nightmares about points when cars had them. Ha Ha .John

    Our old (unknown age) Davey pump with Nitrogen Accumalator (yellow tank) is leaking between the body & the pump side; the property we bought, has a Davy pump with a pressure switch type system (it was a spare transfer pump from the Trickle Feed town water tank to house tank pump), and have been wondering if i can swap the 2 Davy pumps out so i can revuild the Accumalator type pump that feeds the house.
    I may just give it a go (its hard buying a secondhand house that the plumbing makes no sense due to previous owners...)

      When I came here there were pipes outside everywhere you would dig never did work out what any of them did. John

    • @aussieauntynette6892

      Oh my, I totally hear you on that!
      My property has been a nightmare to try and work out. The previous owners (in their 90's) did nearly all the plumbing and electricals themselves. No one knows what's what. Not even the plumbers and electricians I've got in. Burst or broken or rusted out pipes pop up out of the blue around the house, sheds or anywhere in a paddock (yet to find any taps down in the paddocks but who knows, maybe one day?), middle of nowhere. Investigate, dig it up, oh broken pipe, way down here?
      The same with electrics. Hear pinging or sparking coming from a switch or in a wall, opened up and find totally bare (like fully stripped) wires sparking in the wall cavity ready to start a fire.
      I checked the meter box on the power pole and got tossed. Electrocuted, not fun. Turns out the house was running on 480v. No wonder we were having surges. It was also earthing out-leaking in several spots on the property. $8,000 power bills for nothing isn't funny. Now fully disconnected and living in the other house until it's ALL replaced and solar/wind is set up. Pulled some sheds down, still plenty up. The old dairy and a few other sheds needs rewiring too.
      The joys of buying old properties.

    lol I threw those electronic controllers away and installed a pressure switches with low pressure (run-dry) protection. The capacitors will fail in the electronic controller long before a mechanical pressure switch fails.

    • @farminglifeaustralia6716
      @farminglifeaustralia6716  10 місяців тому

      I only tried these controllers because I have had so much trouble with the mechanical ones with points. The electronic controller is still going no trouble. I wonder if our power is a lot of the problem we are on that single wire system that Queensland has in the bush. We always are blowing up electric motors etc. John

    hey John. I live on Dad and I's cabin. If that submerse well pump goes out (35 years old). Dear God isn't it enough I have to figure out how to keep system it from freezing (Minnesota-USA). Knock on wood. American expression. I shower with it and flush toiles.

      Never having lived where things freeze only get a couple of frosts a year I find it hard to get my head around stuff freezing. Saw snow once while driving in the south of Australia got out of the car for a look had a quick look and drove North as quick as I could. After the warm car it was cold as charity. We have knock on wood as well. John

    These inline pressure switches you have to be careful as a lot of the imported ones are no to be used on domestic water something to do with internals chemical pollution I went through this and stuck with a davey switch which is certified

    We had problems with our pump and tank. We had to replace both and it was a costly exercise.
