- Even though we absolutely respect and adore all you anti-cat folks out there, (we used to be mono-lovers too) we decided to make the transition anyway. Our monohull took us halfway around the world, so we'll see how this monster makes it across the big blue!
Besides, we're from Texas ya'll, so we reckon it's time to go BIG or go home.

Wow! Each kid gets their own room. This is the nicest sailing boat I have seen so far.
It's a big charter style cat. It'll be terrible at sailing upwind and pretty slow in general, but you get a tonne of space

Oh get over yourself, yachts are boats, cabins are rooms. These words are interchangeable, only a narcissist would try to say that the usage of the word boat in reference to a yacht and the word room in reference to a cabin are inappropriate, there was no need for the added specificity when the context was clear.
Imagine having your room next to the galley! When ever you feel the need to exercise, just open the door and empty the dishwasher! What a practical and fun thing for the kid there!

Shout out from Cutler Bay, Miami Dade County. Been following you folks since day one. My uncle next to me his 1st time watching, on 4K large LED, saying Absolutely stunning Cat; His trip from Cuba was on 4 tractor tire inner tubes in 94; soon he will visit Cuba “maybe” in his 31 Conquest Whaler. We Love this Cat and it’s timeless look. Love when the interior of a high end yacht is meant to look like your in a boat not a modern house. Gorgeous port windows and wood finish. Brings back lovely memories of my family and I boating together. Our boat was only 42 foot and not luxurious as yours. But we loved it! Our parents are passed now but my brother and I read the boat logs for fun and memories. Kids, one day you will recall with fondness , laughter , and fun times you are enjoying. Our Dad wrote about the time a seagull stole our dinner right off the grill from our boat! It was chicken! I will watch for videos and stay well and safe .

I started watching on the Cat, then 10 or so episodes in decided to start from the beginning... must say, you don't truly appreciate how awesome this Cat is until you've watched the videos of the Mono.
We love your videos, especially since we feel like former neighbors (we live in North Richland Hills, Texas) and had a boat docked on Grapevine Lake for many years. We've since sold that boat and full-time RV'ed for 12 years. Now we are totally retired, and we love watching your sailing family videos. Your family is fabulous, and you are filling many hours of our Covid self-isolation days. Good luck, be safe and have lots of fun.

I started watching your show.I am amazed how you believed in yourself and did an adventure of a lifetime.I had a 5 level lumbar fusion surgery 8weeks and your show inspires me to push on thru to hike,abalone dive,mountain bike ride again .Your awesome and good luck sailing.

What a great choice for a family boat..... can tell you thought this through. Far better finish than the new ikea look more so called modern designs. Definitely better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick....
I am a lifelong boater from the age of 6 , with my Dad . We sailed from D.C. to Key West, the Caribbean and back many times . Always sailed mono hulls of various sizes over the years but never realized how beautiful catamarans can be until now ! I love the layout and spaciousness of your boat . It's a great way to raise a family with endless adventures ahead - I promise !

Hello from Tampa,FL!! You would think living 40+ years down here in FL I would have seen one of these before but I am shocked at how much room is in that boat!! Wow!! It's HUGE!!! All those bedrooms!! New subscriber here and you guys seem like a great family!! Safe travels to you guys!!!

Great Cat, Love the Privilege range especially the old 37' . Just watch your water usage go up.. 6 toilets and showers... might be running the water maker every day.. might be an idea to have one that runs on 12 or 24V so you don't have to run the gen or motors. Your 585 looks perfect for you and your family, sooth seas and fair winds.

Love it. I love the extra room too. Fin’s room with only access via Galley is odd but works great for you all. I’ve
only seen a galley downstairs on charter yachts or yachts were people have crews.

I am so happy to see a family this happy and able to travel with your kids, i can live vicariously through you guys i have thought how cool it would be to be in the middle of the ocean at 1 in the morning kicking back reading a book watching the waves go by or even watching a good movie on the aft deck on my big screen tv with nothing but miles and miles of ocean around yet your watching a movie i dont know if that makes sense im not a zen kind of guy i like tv as much as reading just being in the ocean doing these things brings a sense of adventure ,mystery etc, thanks for the dreams

Congratulations! Good family choice. I sailed a Privilege 56 around the Caribbean back in 1998 and although the layout hasn't changed much they've tweaked it quite a bit she's one gorgeous boat to sail on looooong trips. You guys are gonna wonder how you ever could not have chosen her right from the start. Fair winds you lot and give us a shout when you arrive in Cape Town South Africa one day.
Still trying to convince my family to sell everything and buy a boat to sail around the world. My two kids are completely opposed.
I started thinking about this a few months ago and before I found this channel. It's awesome to see a supportive family wanting to get out there and explore.

Renee I wanted to say great job with this walk though! Since I have found you guys I have been looking at other boats and I look be how you jumped back and forth between the layout and the video. It really helped to give a complete “feel” for what you have. Most brokers only show the video with one peek at the layout and you can never see it all. Being a MT boy myself, it has been fun to watch your journey unfold!!
Absolutely gorgeous. I can’t imagine the electrical draw even without the air conditioning on. You must have ten batteries and a gigawatt of solar and wind generators.

I have to admit I was skeptical because I loved your Beneteau, but this boat is beautiful. When you walked into the salon it really took my breath away and the layout is amazing as well- and I'm sure you'll enjoy the stability of a cat. over a monohull as well. Safe travels, keep on sailing!

Wow! I had to stop my binge watching to tell you .....two thumbs up on the beautiful new boat! I love the sitting area and large area to eat. The kids having their own rooms and space has gotta make the trouble and waiting y’all had to do for this beautiful beast totally worth it!....ok now back to my binge watching😝

Actually I would still have preferred to see that wood in the rain forest where it was taken from.
Wood interiors are usually ply and heavy and may as well be drogues on a cat. The weight cuts the sailing performance in half. You can tell what the sailing performance of a cat is roughly by if their is ply furniture inserted into a molded hull (slow and heavy, lucky to ever go 10 knots) or if the furniture is composite sandwich and built in to add hull strength (boat will be light and stiff and go 20 knots easily).
Giant Boat and heavy but it moves along just fine! Great choice!
Only just come across and subscribed to your videos. Great family and great Cat. My wife and I are looking to retire and follow in your footsteps in the next 18 months. I had previously been looking at relatively new mono's, but I'm going to look seriously at older Cats now, as yours is so fantastic.

The five cabins are very nice. I do like the wonderful looking wood inside the boat. That adds class to the boat and keeps it from looking like a fiberglass toy
