My fav Sabbath song. I saw them in 71 on their first American tour and again a few yrs ago on their last American tour. Sorry that Bill wasn't there behind the kit.... This was the second song that I learned to play on the drums to in 74... The first was Ina Goda Davida in 71..
out of all of the drum covers of this amazing song i’ve heard, this one has got to be one of my most favorite ones. No fancy amount of drums or cymbals, just those few, and it is just pure talent hitting them, keep it up man
Tim Gawert Drums What I love about this song is the space given to each instrument despite so much going on. A masterclass for a band learning it’s trade.
Very good cover! I completely feel the description where you say you think hat Ward belongs in the same category as Paice or Bonham. I always felt the same way.
By the way: would you consider doing a cover of something like Pentagram, Cirtith Ungol or Saint Vitus? All are very much classic bands(around since the 70s) and very much in the same vein as early Sabbath.I Always dug the Drumming from these type of Bands very much. (BTW sorry if anything is spelled wrong since English isn't my primary language)
Hey nice video! Can you please tell me what are the hoops you have for the toms? I want to replace my wood hoops of my PDP too, but I've tried some but didn't work...
Hey, thank you. They are triple flanged hoops that I bought from drumsonsale.com. I think they are manufactured by Gibraltar. The 13 and 16 inch ones fit (tho they are quite tight) but the 18 inch ones unfortunately did not fit. Hope that helps!
Fantastic playing man, beautiful sounding kit. How did you manage to find a storage facility that would let you play in a unit? I’d love to do the same
Glad to hear that. The drums are PDP’s Concept Maple Classic line. Snare drum is a Ludwig Supraphonic. And I’m using an MXL v250, Shure Beta 52a, and Shure 57s here (all quite affordable).
Nice version but have you seen the early 70’s vid of Sabbath in some European club. People think Bonham and Grohl hit hard. Bill Ward hits the drums so hard they are shaking then he is still somehow able to pull off such finesse with his fills and create swing. A great drummer as proven by the amount of bad covers I have seen of The Wizard as trickier than it looks though there is a jazz drummer on YT who does a good cover.
If you listen to my flirt’n with disaster that’s the crew we are working with I can send you a sample mix so you can decide so far it’s sounds pretty good the singer does Ozzy very well and the bass player is awesome
@@timgawertdrums My son and I played it for awhile and then one day I was listening and the light bulb went off. Got home and tried it and had an “Ah ha” moment. Still a sweet cover!

That’s awesome man. Bill was one hell of a drummer. Thanks for checking out the video!
Love seeing young people appreciate the expert musicians of that era. Black Sabboths drummer was epic.
That's darn good man!
Thank you!
In this song every instrument is gold

Best fitting snare drum used in all the covers I've seen
I’ve seen a few attempts at this song and this is imho the most fluent and best sounding version out there.
Thank you for the kind words Christopher. And thanks for checking it out!

Agreed. There's some really cringe inducing covers of this song on UA-cam for some reason.
This guy did a great job getting the feel right.
Tight cover best I've seen so far. Bill ward doesn't get the credit he deserves every bit as good as moon and Bonham
Super clean! Man, you deserve a way higher subscriber count.
Nailed it!
Sounds good dude. Let yourself go more...like no one is watching. Be loud and proud!
What drumset are you using in this video?

No problem man! Your kit is pretty awesome too.
Totally incredible
There’s no klick here,, right? I tried to figure it out,,but I lost it on the drums after a couple of bars
Just damn dude you are on!
Well done, really enjoyed it
Bill Ward é o Mestre ..... Parabéns pelo cover .
Obrigado meu amigo!
Fluent fills very nice!
Thank you!
Would’ you be interested in doing a full band cover of this song I got a video project going on right now
Absolutely man!! That would be great
Killer cover man. 🤘

Glad I found this channel. Mind if you do cover of child in time by deep purple
Glad you’re here! That’s a great idea...thanks for the suggestion
Are you playing to a slowed-down version of the song?
Fantastic playing man, beautiful sounding kit.
How did you manage to find a storage facility that would let you play in a unit? I’d love to do the same
Nice playing man. Whose the vocalist ?
Thank you. I’m actually not sure; it’s a drum-less track I found online.
Love the sound of your drums and mics what makes are they?
Glad to hear that.

Amazing buddy. Where are you from?
Originally from Germany and now live in North Carolina, USA. Thanks for the kind words
Good job Dude, what type of pst7 did you use like crashes?
Thank you. It’s a 18” PST7 crash on my left and a 19” PST7 crash on my right.
@@timgawertdrums danke schon
pst7 medium or heavy?
@@emiliob2920 Medium!
What size bass drum?
26x14
Thinking about a 26. Recommended?
@@paulkuzub6405 it really depends on what you’re looking to do. A 26 is a blast to play but not the most versatile drum.
Please-Evilution from Dio era.

Bill would hit the hi-hat on it’s down travel. It’s a small difference in technique but makes a huge difference in sound

I spotted the fuck up
this song originally has the greatest drums, I see no point of changing them so I didn't like the "cover" much
Fair enough.
Thanks for checking out the video anyway!
@@timgawertdrums I felt a bit too harsh with my attitude tho, still I respect all the effort you show keep up the good work :)
Bro you play it very very wrong
Quit horsing around
