I'd watch the entire roster for this series.
I’d love a series where he does the whole roster, but for characters he doesn’t play he has guests that are prominent members of the bbcf community
Absolutely
Same.
Yes
same
How to Ragna 101:
Step 01: Inferno Divider
Step 02: You win? You lose? WHO CARES?!
Step 03: Inferno Divider
Now you know to play Ragna, you're welcome :^]
You forgot carnage scissors
And jesus kick~
you have forgotten one key detail
GAUNTLETO HADES
@@kitkatiecat And HERUZU FANGU!
I'm an animator and I've studied Ragna's frames for practice a ton. I'll never forget opening the sprite folder and going 'DAMN, LOOK AT THAT KICK!' Infinity kick aside, he's my fave character in Blazblue and your vid came out just when I finally decided to buy the game. Thanks, man!
I love these little beginner guides on characters. They actually teach you how to approach the neutral and what buttons to press as a complete newb, not just combos, which you can find enough of. I don't know if you have considered it, but perhaps do a series where you go over each character in the roster and do a beginner guide for each (apart for Arakune maybe, don't need more of those).
Also love how you casually victimised some innocent bystanders just to prove your Ragna supremacy in the guide.
I like the part in the guide where you use the character and show off and point the tips you explained, which really makes it feel like someone could jump in and really try a character out. A thing with guides is besides being info dumps, they make it feel like you have to still put in the work yourself to see how the game would actually play out.
I like the idea of a guide kinda being like this where you try to "sell" us on a character, do everything to make a character seem as appealing as possible and showing that character in action. The Ragna infomercial.
This was honestly a great video, the way you explained how your buttons were important and highlighted them in a match was great.
I’m voting for arakune guide next!
seek help
Yes officer, this person right here
Just wanted to provide some feedback and say that your guides are really great and are unlike most guides I see. You skip the fluff and really specific stuff that many guides include (like complete overview of moves, frame data, set ups, combos, etc) and not only stick to the core, fundamental stuff you should know about the character, but also display those fundamentals in real time matches with your commentary so it really sticks in. I know it probably feels really simple and not all that special, but I think this style of guide is extremely intuitive and excellent for getting new or beginning players started with playing the game under a strong foundation.
If this becomes a series, I will support every video! You have a real talent for this.
Thank you for saving BlazBlue, Jiyuna!
I’d love to see more characters. Even if they’re all beginner intro guides, just having a starting point for their unique mechanics and move properties would be fantastic!
Been using my boy since CT. He's come a long way. Miss those Belial Edge loops from CS though.
You really have to believe in yourself with Ragna at high level. His approach is pretty predictable that you're doing stagger pressure with rapid cancels just to keep up the heat. Ragna being my favorite character since launch. I do fool around with more character since CF but nothing like a true Bloodedge to test your fundamentals.
Jiyuna fighting harder for BlazBlue than against balding..
Just wait until those Thailand borders open up.
I’d say Jin is the most well rounded character but ragna Is sick
You can keep your opponent frozen almost the entire match, even after just picking him up…
I’ve been learning the character since rollback came out, and this is super helpful.
Been playing Nu/Lambda my whole life and decided to try some rushdown so this is actually perfect timing 👌
Freaking godlike. My man showing us the basics with the cheeky Inferno Divider crossup at the end. Do Jin for the lulz next.
I like it how you taught the buttons and how they work, when we should press them. You can win so many matches by using the most basic stuff at the right time.
Dope Ragna guide! Good looks Jiyuna helping people stay playing BlazBlue 👍
Ragna reminds me of Sol and that doesn’t really suit my taste but he is sick in the right hands.
This reminds me a lot of those 2 minute character guides Sajam did. Id like to see one for Izanami.
Keep banging out the Blazblue videos man! I'm no beginner but I love watching your beginner guides. I'm not exactly good, but I know how to play, and these help expand my knowledge and overall game sense. Plus knowing the general gameplan of other characters will help me deal with it in the future
Thanks for the guides!
Thanks Jiyuna!.. i'm a Ragna main now 😁 👍🏾
Imagine if fighting games had guides as good as this in game to teach characters. People would be way more able to get into a groove
"let those DPs rip" is what I live by
also a mai guide would be nice, she's another easy one and I feel comfortable playing her already but I might be missing some stuff
Covering Basics and Fundamentals is the best thing you could do
Usually the biggest thing new players struggle with the type of mindset you need to bring with each character's playstyle
A good guide for anyone wanting to learn the basics of ragna
I would love a guide for my girl Celica, Best 5a in the game.
LOVE that you're keeping this up Jiyuna. these guides are excellent despite their simplicity and lack of rigid structure. the beginner characters DESERVE to be known as such and showcased as such.
So glad you're doing this.
I don't play but I like watching your content of the game, it's very interesting to me, game is cool lmao
>mid-range, footsie based character
GROUND BASED FOOTSIES
yo i was the ragna you just fought earlier shame my internet connection got cut. thanks for the guide.
Bruh you’re really my favorite fighting game guy, good energy
I would love a guide for amane or Mu 12
With this guide I feel like I can win some persona game in some southeastern continent or someshit
Thank Jiyunaa
Really appreciate this kind of guides Jiyuna. I would also like to see a Jubei quick guide. I know you don't play him, just wishing.
Do one for Noel pls
A Mu12 guide in this format would be amazing
How many character guides are you going to make? What other characters can we expect in this series?
ah yes. my favorite ever, been waiting on this one
*sigh* Mirror matches are NOT always even- again, if you read Japanese BBS you'd know. In Japan, difficulty of mirror match is based on how differently you need to play the character during the mirror, and whether you gain or lose your main tools. For example, as a Ragna player, I don't have to adjust my playstyle for the mirror (just space my 5b)- I actually get new tools to use specifically for the match (double berial variation, dp clashing gimmicks, etc). Because of these factors, it's generally accepted here that Ragna has a relatively easy mirror, which acts as a 6-4 matchup when it comes to character ranking. On the other hand, Arakune mirrors cause the player to play a completely different style plus he loses a lot of his options (where's your curse pressure when you're cursed yourself?). Last I read, the Japanese said he has the hardest mirror and ranked it at 3-7 in terms of character ranking, but I haven't checked recently. And then finally, a lot of chars like Bang/Tsubaki/Hakumen have relatively plain mirrors which get 5-5 in terms of character ranking.
But again, I don't think US is ready to add in these factors when they're still putting out tier lists like this one. Maybe wait until BBCF2, then give it a try.
Yung Jiyuna
I'd love to see a Hakumen or Tager trailer by you! I mean, I can find other sources, but since you don't really play them as much, it would be awesome to know what your advice would be.
If this becomes a full series, it would be a very well done series on what your tools are and when to exactly use them. I'd definitely look forward to a Nu video, since I've been playing her for about 2 weeks and am steadily getting a better grasp of how to use her tools in neutral and get the combo setups that I want.
keep them going ill watch em all
I love how many new people are jumping on the game now
Yo I am down for some tutorial videos from this commentator. Has he won any major tournaments I might know about? Or have any trophy-like shorts?
I laughed so hard listening to your commentary for the first match. "Gauntlet HaDeS!~ Gauntlet Hades aGaIn~!"
If it ain't broke...
The guide looks good, but I would add a simple B&B combo that does around 2000 damage and a conclusion where you recap the important buttons and the single combo.
thanks your a good teacher!
Glad it helped.
This is so awesome, Imma get back into training mode and get good with him.
There's something mad relaxing about playing a pocket Ragna, specially as someone who likes playing the hyperactive setup weirdos. Everything just strings together so smoothly.
The miniguide is greatly appreciated, the forgotten boy needs more love. It's a shame Mori didn't get to bring him back in BBDW.
I’ve played Ragna for almost a decade, and I’ll tell you the extensive knowledge I’ve acquired in my countless battles….
Ungabunga Inferno Divider Carnage Scissors in neutral
Use my knowledge wisely
I've never seen anyone talking about it, Dustloop doesn't go into it (as far as I've read), so I'll ask here just for kicks
What's the deal with Ragna's life-steal? Is it legit, or just used for Time Over shenanigans?
It's something that's just there and you don't worry about. It helps you out but you don't have to actively think about it.
5B spam on neutral is the most Jiyuna thing ever and i love it
Wow a really nice tutorial. BEst type of tutorials
Death spike preassure!!!
Oh hell yeah!
7:35 The "Advanced" Classic
Hibiki guide would be perfect
Ragna! The only character worthy of my attention in the Blazblue series.
Mai guide requested!
i need see Taokaka army grow
Love ragna and great guide though I’d probably say Jin is the most balanced character in the roster.
late a year but I have to say this. What make Ragna good choice wasn't he simple but rather he kind of like 60% Rushdown and 40% Shoto and if you count his gimmick(lifesteal) and the number of hp you got his hp close to Tager
Would love a video on Hazama
I really need a guide for Jubei. It seems there isn't a real in depth one for him since he was the last character added to the game.
Check out Mattocat's guide, it's really detailed.
The robot girl in the first match was developed with YoRHa technology.
Could you do one of these for Mai or Celica next?
Nine or Izanami would be nice
Ready for some beatdown
Please do Mai next!!
I love your voice omg
💯
Tried out Mai after watching your video, but her playstyle didn't really suit me. The wavedashing and input timing feels weird. So I guess I'm still waiting for the Hibiki guide!
To me Ragna will always be the best protagonist in all of fighting games. I generally don't play the 2 shotos of the games but Ragna is the only character I went back and play because he's so fun, that combined with his desing and the godtier voice acting makes me like it way more than Sol. A shame Mori decided to give the D to him in Central Fiction.
Btw switching from Ragna to Es was the greatest mistake of your life Jiyuna
I played him for 9 years, need a change.
Noel, please?
Celica next!
Hibiki guide pls!
Love this series.
could you do hibiki next?
5B is god move.
That's why it's called Jesus Kick
Litchi guide please !!
No one is ready for IADDPRC
Don't play Ragna. Don't be boring.
Ragna is actually really fun if you play him nutty.
crossup dp the classsic
I’m just recently getting into blazblue and I’m really really struggling defensively. Offensively I’ve kinda got it down I just keep messing up my Gatling combinations lol I’ll go from 5B to 5C back to 5B and nothing comes out 😭 anyways, I’m really struggling with not getting hit and avoiding damage, does anybody have any tips?
Use Barrier, learn Dash Breaking, check out the other video I made on Tips for New Players.
how about a lamba 11 guide next?
A guide to
Platinum the trinity guide would be fire
Carl next? 😎🙏😳
Just mash 5b and inferno divider and gg
That's the idea.
Do mai next
Susanoo guide when?
How badass i could be if i can use ragna's scythe like a sword by seething it and using the seethed scythe as a sword instead of an actual scythe
Hibiki and Azrael?
Noel pls
i have skill issue with joystick
Try playing pad.
2nd like aye
Now do izanami
The game looks really fun but I am a Xbox player and it's not on xbox unfortunately so I can't play it
Jiyuna brings a little something special to these generic beginner guides. Just teach us how to cheese. That's all we care about. You know it. I know it. Maybe toss in a character specific insult to demean our opponents...
