Disco Santa - Fountain Valley Christmas Lights 2012 - 65558 Programmable RGB LEDs

- This is Disco Santa sync'd to 65558 programmable RGB LEDs, we've added a few new things for this years display, most notably the arches in the driveway, and some down lights.
In case you haven't read the other descriptions in last years videos; This is dedicated to Larry Stewart. My good friends, Larry and his wife wanted to have an extra special light display for Christmas, I was called upon to make it happen. I started planning started early 2011, to gather parts, software, & knowledge that I would need to pull it off... but sadly, Larry had succumb to mesothelioma, a type of cancer on May 15th 2011 before ever getting to see it in person. This is the second year of this light display for Christmas, indubitably dedicated to Larry Stewart.
This display runs 65558 RGB LED Lights, the same amount of DMX channels, pumping ArtNet-II over a gigabit ethernet network at 50Hz, controlled and programmed by me using Madrix on a single PC and auxiliary remote control with a Google Nexus 10 tablet.
It draws an average of 10-14 amps, with a maximum of 27.5 amps. So it's roughly equivalent to a microwave or vacuum cleaner running. This pales in comparison to old school Christmas lights. The power bill bump of $30-$50 USD is worth it for all the joy it brings everyone who comes to see it!
To get to us, exit the 405 freeway at Euclid or Ellis exits, travel on Ellis St towards Ward and Ellis intersection, turn NORTH on Ward, get ready to make a LEFT on Apache River into the Greenbrook development. You won't miss us once you travel down Apache River, look for the glow!
Video was shot with a Nikon D800 and Tamron 24-70mm VC lens
Shouts to Cameron, Michael, Apollo, & the 350+ people who have signed our Guest Book!
Fritz Coleman from NBC LA Channel 4 is coming out on Friday, 28th of Dec, be there around 5PM - Навчання та стиль
Disco down, Santa! DISCO WILL NEVER DIE!!!
This is a display that costs $1,052,929 running light o Rama. I set these displays up for a living. It's around 4700 controllers. And probably takes the entire year to program these lights. Good job dream. Keep it up you bring joy to many people.
Awesome job helping Jan and her late husband's dream become real. Guess Mr. Flanagan ran out of dreams a long time ago.
This is the BEST Christmas light show I have EVER seen! It was well worth the drive to go see it. :-D
This was unreal, awesome, I'll be there and see it again every year from now on!!!!
Fortunately I live only one mile away, Hey, Hey Disco Santa, Merry Christmas to all.
OMG! This is fantastic. First of all what a great cause, second of all I am impressed and humbled by the time and effort you took to build this! It's fantastic. All I can think of when i watched it was the "Deck the Halls" movie with Danny Devito! Very very cool. Well done sir!!!
Awesome work. Such a hardwork and innovative idea
I just wanted to tell you, I love your light show, the music and the dancing is pretty cool too :)
Thanks for the comment Bradley. A few corrections though. This doesn't use any Light-o-Rama hardware. These are all RGB pixels that I programmed in Madrix over Art-Net-II and DMX.
Can stop tuning in. Make me feel happy
That's some dedication right there.
Thanks Tracy! They are WS2802 RGB pixels. Programmed in Madrix by me.
I was there on Christmas Eve! I'm from HB. Great job!!!!
AWESOME LIGHT SHOW
OMG that is the most extreme lights that i ever seen!!!
That was awesome!!!
Nice work again Damion.
great job . just saw this then saw you are on yahoo news bru. really nice of you to do this .
Just saw that their bringing it back for this year, yeah. To all the haters--have you seen the show? Do you know the backstory? It's free and it's amazing--I've been there!
I'd love to come to Oz and do something, but It would be hard to follow what is already done in Sydney Harbor! They do an astounding job, thank you for even suggesting it, that's pretty rare air. :)
Ooh My F'ing God! Awesome! I hate the old school lights and the dangling ones. Had no idea that LEDs could do this and with much less electricity. At 60 years of age, I've seen houses lit up all over the country, but nothing comes close to this. That house actually talks... and dances!
U guys are awesome
Love you to come to Australia and do the harbour bridge display for the new year celebration.
LOVE the dancing!! :D
...AWESOME!! It'd be even better if the guy dancing was dressed up like Santa!!
Awesome!

Well, there are enough houses here that could do with a little decoration :)
Happy Christmas by DJ Tiesto!!!

Mit digitalen LED´s und Madrix ist viel möglich....

Очень красиво, но не в ритм музіке
Lots of lights but no real thought put into the show compared to most Christmas light shows.
i feel sorry for your neighbors......
Have you been there in person Bankel?
eric crew I wish
bankel 3 years ago the husband started putting the show together but he passed away before finishing. A family friend stepped in to complete the display in his memory. It's a incredible show that people travel from all over to see. If your near So Cal you should make the trip, you won't regret it. That is if their still doing it this year.
